From the perspective of ecocriticism, this article shows that Ha Thi Cam Anh's The Son (2006) and Leslie M. Silko's Ceremony (1977) use folklore materials to express the eco-friendly philosophy towards the nature of their ethnic minority people. That feminine eco-philosophy contrasts with the masculinist culture which is showing many flaws and failures. Both writers implicitly call for a return to harmonious coexistence with nature.

While some scholars have argued that the research related to “Collective Memory” could be traced back to the 18th century or even earlier, it was not until the 1920s that Halbwachs systematically proposed characteristics of collective memory from a sociological perspective. From his works, the study of memory began to develop, and led to a boom in the 1970s, and the launching of the academic journal Memory Study in 2008. Collective memory has now become an interdisciplinary field gaining contributions from different professional perspectives such as literary criticism, psychology, sociology, historiography, cultural studies, and communication studies.

The Katu people in Hoa Vang district, Danang city, have a branch on the progress of the ethnic division of the Katu people in Quang Nam province. Their population is 1000 Katu people taking slash-and-burn agriculture as the main economic base and other supporting economic activities such as gathering, hunting, fishing, breeding, and handicraft. However, recently in industrialization and modernization taking place dramatically across the country, the Katu community in Hoa Vang, Da Nang city, has changed all life aspects, especially in material culture. There have been changes in village structure, house patterns, costume characteristics, gastronomy, means of transportation, and tools of production. Some have remained traditionally intact, but some have been lost or transformed. This status is a context with many inevitable and objective reasons that will naturally occur in integration, industrialization, and modernization (Louis Wirth,1945; Michael Jackson, 2013). This article provides an overview of the material cultural change of the Katu community here. Besides, it analyzesdecodes these changing trends from cultural anthropology to find out interventions, active supports, or give predictions intending to minimize the distortion and oblivion of material culture, contributing to preserving the traditional culture of the ethnic group.

The twentieth century is the century when new religious phenomena appear, which is recognized as a development trend of world religions. In our country, this term began to be popularized at the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century. According to statistics of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the emergence of new religious phenomena has changed the religious life in our country in almost all aspects. The appearance and existence of “new religious phenomena” in the North partly reflected the change in the daily life of the people in the North on both positive and negative sides. This article focuses on studying the negative effects of “hot spots” related to religious phenomena in the North in recent years.

There have still been many debates among scholars about the appropriateness of the international relations theory in Asia in general and Southeast Asia in particular. In these theories, Constructivism has emerged as a suitable school for assessing international relations in Southeast Asia when ASEAN is moving towards building an ASEAN community in 2025 and developing an environment with common identities regarding security, politics, economy, and social culture. This paper focuses on analyzing and evaluating Vietnam-Thailand relations concerning social culture from the perspective of Constructivism. Research results reveal that the arguments of Constructivism are suitable to justify Vietnam - Thailand relation in the field of culture and society. Both countries have had changes in common perception and diplomatic ties. Both countries work towards forming common standards and strengthening the solidarity and friendship between two countries based on socio-cultural exchanges to build an ASEAN community.

Mo Muong is a complete picture of the life of the traditional Muong people. In it, moral thought, cosmic philosophy and religious conception are vividly expressed through Mo verses. With the respect and gratitude of his descendants for the “absolute past”, the Muong folk author creatively used the special artistic symbol of the Benjamin ficus tree, Si tree in Muong, to create the spiritual tradition for Mo Muong. Therefore, after thousands of years of existence, Mo Muong still holds a strong attraction for the Muong in any region, in any era. By document analysis and ethnographic fieldwork, the author has systematically synthesized the cosmology and the symbolism of the Si tree in Mo Muong.

Murakami is one of the masters of Magical literature. In his writing, the magical world appeared in a variety of colors. As a writer who follows Poe, Kafka, Marquez, etc., Murakami has both inherited and developed magicalism to a new level. The spirit world is an important fulcrum for him to exploit the magical and fanciful elements. He has a knack for turning both the unconscious with its hidden memories and also the guilt and regret from it into magical signs. Murakami's magicality weaves both mystery and comedy. Thereby, the writer illuminates the hidden corners of the soul that in a busy life, people often forget.
