Speaking English is one of the most difficult abilities for EFL students since there are many factors, both external and internal that condition the learners’ will and skill to perform orally. This paper is aimed at investigating through a literature review the psychological barriers that face EFL students, particularly Vietnamese learners in performing their speaking. The research findings from the investigation show that phenomena like anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, lack of motivation and ineffective teaching methods are the factors that in many cases lead to poor or even nil language competence and performance. The results prove that students are usually afraid of making mistakes or being judged, they tend to feel tense and nervous, diffident in oral presentations and sometimes they feel confused with their thoughts. The study also proposes some suggestions in order to soften the impact of these factors on the student’s language learning process.

French writer Albert Camus was first introduced to Vietnamese readers as an existentialist, whether he admits it or not. Duong Nghiem Mau and a number of writers of his time, living and composing in South Vietnam during the 60-70s of the twentieth century, were more or less influenced by Western thinkers, in which there was the existentialist thought of Albert Camus. Reading Tuoi nuoc doc by Duong Nghiem Mau, we find that there is an encounter with The Stranger by Albert Camus in terms of the protagonist's view of people and the times. The indifferent look dominates the entire art of building Meursault and Ngac characters in those two works. In this article, we examine the consciousness of the characters when realizing the absurdity of life, thereby giving them an “indifferent” view of the world.

In Viet Nam, climate change is becoming more and more obvious, causing many difficulties for people's livelihood, especially for ethnic minorities, who still have limitations in terms of education and responding skills and therefore they have very few livelihood options. The Co Tu people are ethnic minorities living mainly in the mountainous communes of Hoa Vang district, Da Nang City, Viet Nam. The consequences of climate change directly affect the physical and spiritual life of the local inhabitants. The objective of this study is to assess the livelihood vulnerability to climate change for the Co Tu ethnic group in Hoa Vang district, Da Nang City based on the Livelihood Vulnerability Index (LVI). This empirical research has implemented the framework for Livelihood Vulnerability to Climate Change proposed by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The results of the study show that the livelihood vulnerability of the Co Tu ethnic group in Da Nang is relatively low, in the Co Tu people in Phu Tuc village have a livelihood vulnerability lower than the Ta Lang and Gian Bi villages. However, some aspects need to be improved such as social network, health, food, and household living conditions. This research contributes to raising awareness against climate change and environmental protection; at the same time, it helps management agencies to have appropriate policies to ensure synchronous development and improve all aspects of the community's life.

Along with mono no aware, miyabi is an aesthetic sentiment that dominates the Heian period. Miyabi describes the elegant attitude and behavior between man and man, as well as between man and nature. Originating from Shinto, miyabi has subsequently become a significant concept of Japanese aesthetics. Miyabi percolated through Japanese literature over eras and was recorded in the compositions of Y. Kawataba – a writer who dedicated his life and literary career to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Japan amidst the invasion of European and American civilization. In Y. Kawabata's works, miyabi was expressed through the passion of being able to care for, cherish and contemplate nature at its utmost richness; of finding in nature the joy and energy that healed the wounds of the soul; of appreciating objects-symbols for traditional culture; of love, generosity and tolerance towards people.

Adopting statistical, comparative, and experimental methods, this article discusses the marketization of translation in Vietnam. Part 1 of the article briefly presents the current situation of translation training as well as the shortcomings in public perceptions and practices in Vietnam. Part 2 argues that marketization is an inevitable path to professionalism as regards translation. Based on the analysis of the inadequacies and limitations of the domestic translation market, Part 2 also maps out a package of measures for achieving this objective, which involves establishing feasible codes and standards, developing a professional training system, building a quality assurance and evaluation system, promoting cooperation in information exchange and digitalization in translation, setting up a reasonable competitive system, changing public perception of translation, etc. These suggestions serve as a proper theoretical background for the marketization and professionalization of the translation trade in Vietnam.

The field trip is one of the significant experiential learning activities to enhance students' cognition of employment opportunities after graduation. The study assesses the value of nine field trips of Hanoi University of Industry students in 2022. Data were collected from 451 second-year students at the faculty of Information Technology through an online survey. The survey consists of two parts, the first related to demographic information and the second for the participants' ratings on the aspects of field trips. Data analyses were performed by spss software (version 26). The result revealed that participants highly valued the university support, enterprise activities and their achievements for the field trips. The findings from the Hanoi University of Industry can act as a successful case for other Vietnamese higher education to organize similar field trips to promote their undergraduates' preparedness of work readiness after graduation.

In the tourism industry, tourist attractions (TAs) play a particularly important role, and the assessment of tourist attractions, therefore, is crucial to the planning and growth of the tourism industry since TAs are a fundamental type of territorial organization. Although managers may increase the efficiency of exploitation and promote the benefits of TAs by assessing TAs, there have not been many studies to evaluate TAs in comprehensively on various factors. For the aim of conducting an integrated assessment of TAs, this study was conducted in the province of An Giang, which is in the west of Mekong Delta region and has many attractive TAs. A synthetic scoring method with 8 evaluation criteria together with AHP techniques are used in this study. The findings of the evaluation of An Giang's TAs reveal that the majority of them simply halt at the average level of advantageous utilization.

Vietnam has the potential to develop a relatively large and efficient integrated economy. However, so far, Vietnam's economy is still small, labor productivity and GDP per capita are still low compared to some countries in the ASEAN region. In 2021, GDP per capita will reach about 3,640 USD, equal to about 50% of Thailand, about 34% of Malaysia, 92% of Indonesia and only about 6% of Singapore. Improving national labor productivity is the most important task for the country's prosperity. In 2019, the Government organized the National Labor Productivity Improvement Conference for experts to give suggestions and plans to improve national labor productivity. The author's article wishes to contribute some more ideas for agencies and experts to have more reference information.

Tea and tea-drinking tradition are dispensable parts of daily life in both Britain and Vietnam. Two of these countries are geographically and culturally far away but there are British nuances in the Vietnamese tea-drinking habits. With the method of processing the online public media sources and hardcopy literature through anthropological illumination, it is discovered that the British features seen in the Vietnamese tea drinking way are blended teas, instant teas, tea bags, teacups, and afternoon tea mini-party. There are anthropological explanations for this phenomenon, among which the most fundamental is about bilateral diplomatic relations. These diplomatic connections push forward the exchanges in economy, education, tourism, and culture between UK and Vietnam. Tea culture, therefore, is also carried out from Britain to Vietnam. The Vietnamese taking these British habits in teatime are viewed as wealthier, busier, younger, socially classier, and more open-minded people. Despite the concern of the previous generations, those young people show a positive attitude toward learning about their traditional tea customs. On the whole, it can be concluded that the British tea-drinking style in Vietnam is not as massive as the other imported cultural products such as music, movie, and fashion but it has built up a social community, which is smaller-sized but niche with the strong qualities mentioned above.
