Making general decisions on where to travel may be very exciting for tourists but it can be quite challenging when it comes to choosing the exact fascinating places to visit and discover. There have been several research studies published that examine vacation destinations and how travellers make decisions, but few publications have combined these studies to help professionals in the travel and tourism business make well-informed decisions. This research was intended to examine tourists’ decisions to attend the Seremban Street Art in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Attributes to travel destination consist of 5A’s namely accommodation, articulated stories, affordability, accessibility, and attribution. A total of 69 respondents were involved in this survey. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the respective sample by utilizing a convenience sampling technique. All data were extracted by using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The results of the study indicate that accessibility is the main attribute of tourists’ decisions to travel destinations whereby accommodation is the attribute that least influences tourists’ decisions on travel destinations. The study focused on the decision-making and destination aspects and summarized how visitors make their destination decisions. Moreover, it acts as a reference for business owners to understand the aspects that influence tourists' decisions and consequently help them make wise decisions to keep their businesses afloat.

A dessert café provides an aesthetically pleasing space for meeting, relaxation, and socialising, which benefits people's emotional and social well-being. While these cafes may have traditionally been viewed as a space for female customers, the number of male customers patronising dessert cafes has increased. Male customers' well-being perception and citizenship behaviour are the variables of interest as they may perceive dessert café visit experience differently than female customers. The present study focuses on male dessert café customers and intends to examine the positive effect of men’s well-being perceptions in emotional and social aspects on customer citizenship behaviour (i.e., feedback, advocacy, helping, tolerance). The mediating effect of customer attitude towards dessert café between well-being perceptions and customer citizenship behaviour was investigated. A total of 115 valid responses were collected from male customers who had visited one of the selected dessert café brands. By adopting the Structural Equation Modeling method, the findings revealed a significant relationship between well-being perceptions and attitude. In addition, male customers’ attitude significantly improved customer intention to co-create discretionary value. In the mediation analysis, attitude fully mediated the relationship between well-being perceptions and customer citizenship behaviour. The results implied that when men perceived a high level of well-being during dessert café visits, they generated positive attitudes, which in turn encouraged their intention to co-create value. This study contributes to the theoretical and practical knowledge in the sector of dessert café.

In recent years, more and more travellers have chosen shared accommodations as their tourism accommodations, and their initial motivations tend to be different from their motivations after participation. However, beyond anecdotal evidence, there is a dearth of understanding of changes in motivations for first-time travellers. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how first-time shared accommodation travellers change over time (hereafter referred to as first-time travellers) by employing Self-Determination theory (SDT) as the theoretical foundation. The data was collected with the purposive sampling approach from 30 first-time travellers’ interviews, before and after their first experience of shared accommodations. The results indicate that changes in first-time travellers’ basic needs are found to internalize or externalize their motivations in repeat participation. This study adds to the literature on the dynamic motivation process for first-time travellers, identifies the underlying reasons behind the motivational changes, and provides marketing strategies for shared accommodation practitioners to target and attract this group of travellers to use shared properties repeatedly.

As more new players enter the market, the Malaysian food and beverage industry is anticipated to have a bright future. Hence, it is becoming increasingly important to comprehend how food and beverage establishments make profits through cost control measures, an important aspect that is frequently overlooked academically. Limited studies have been conducted towards understanding cost control matters, especially in the Malaysian setting. This paper highlights the critical cost control techniques and ways to overcome issues in food service operations. An exploratory approach via qualitative study is deemed feasible to investigate cost control measures being practiced in their daily operations. Cost control techniques applied in the Malaysian food and beverage industry needs to be determined. Further, how managers overcome challenges in manning their food and beverage outlets needs exploration. Therefore, in answering the questions, semi-structured interview protocols were conducted on 25 foodservice outlet managers around the northern part of Malaysia. The findings suggested that most of the managers interviewed understand cost control techniques needed to operate outlets based on their routine experience of running their operations. In terms of overcoming the challenges, these managers depicted several solutions which reflected the survival of their business. Thus, some recommendations can be suggested to improve their daily operations to cultivate the correct application of cost control measures in food and beverage outlet operations.

Nowadays, family vacation is becoming one of the most essential sectors of the tourism industry. It is a fact that family tourism and vacation provide benefits to family relationships, lifetime memories, communications, marriage, family happiness and also family wellbeing. A preliminary study involving 30 respondents was conducted to further design and analyse the instrument used to explore the contribution of vacation to the Malaysian family wellbeing. Several questions were proposed to fulfil the study; (1) Does vacation strengthen family bonding? (2) Does vacation contribute to the lifetime memories among family members? And (3) Does vacation create good communication among family members? The findings contributed to further study by using the tested instrument to fulfil the goal of the National Family Policy Malaysia (NFP) which aims to develop prosperous, healthy and resilient families to ensure social stability families. It significantly will support the Principle 4 of NFP which is to produce strong family relationships, a culture of sharing resources and mutual responsibilities to ensure family wellbeing. Further, the study is also significant to invigorating domestic tourism and ensuring business continuity by the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry.
