Museology is basically a field of study referring to museum institutions. From the historical aspect as well as their basic philosophy, their goals and policies and functions either from the point of view of education, politics or even social roles. Museology can be said to be a relatively new discipline whose prevalence is largely an intellectual product of the 20th century. However, it is certain that the concept of Museology has existed at least since the 17th century, where the development of the idea of museology appears to have developed along with the early development of the museum. During that period of time, museology has helped the development of museum institutions either in terms of concept or in terms of museum management. The change of museums from institutions that are only focused on the conservation and restoration of artefact collections, now they are community-oriented (community-oriented), becoming exhibition spaces and platforms for dialogue and communication in general with visitors. This study uses a qualitative method by analysing the data of studies on the development of museology in the field of museology. The focus of the study focuses on the definition, background and what is the significance and influence of museology in museum institutions in Malaysia. The results of the study show that the museum provides significant theoretical and practical museum aspects. Practical practice is a priority in the management of museum work to produce professionals in the field of museums while the existing theoretical will play a role as criticism needed to implement improvements and guidance to museum management because the museum's function as a treasure heritage institution can be implemented well. In addition, museology has also applied critical thinking to social and political issues. In the context of Malaysia, museology has called for the removal of all colonial influences in museum institutions through the implementation of decolonization after the country achieved independence. Then it changed the museum from colonialism, now it has been used as a tool for nation building in uniting a multi-ethnic and cultural society.

As we know, world have been shocked by the corona virus that spreading all over the whole world. The challenges that have been faced by all the countries in whole world shows that COVID-19 pandemic is a global scale crisis. It gave a huge impact on world socio-economy. In Malaysia, small and medium enterprises (SME) which is one of the biggest contributors in gross domestic product (GDP) are highly affected by this crisis. This is due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) implemented by the government following the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused various industrial sectors to stop business. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on kiosk entrepreneurs in 1 Borneo shopping complex by using quantitative and observational methods. The result of the study shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has gave an impact on kiosk entrepreneurs due to the lack of customers when the MCO was implemented (min score = 4.64), majority of the sales decreased to below RM3000 per month (min score = 4.54), and daily sales collections also could not reach the required capital (min score = 4.12). Therefore, based on the study of the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), the government need to take action and strategies to help those affected by providing various initiatives that are more effective and comprehensive in dealing with this situation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on communities worldwide, with governments imposing restrictions on movement, global vaccination, quarantine, social distance measures, stay-at-home policies, and other preventative measures such as mandatory use of face masks. Despite widespread agreement that symptomatic individuals and those working in healthcare settings should continue to use the face mask following COVID-19 vaccination, discrepancies were observed in the public and societies raising awareness among Malaysian millennials. Global efforts to develop a vaccine have been accelerated to alleviate the growing burden of COVID-19. Thus, vaccination significantly decreased adverse outcomes such as non-ICU hospitalisation, as well as ICU hospitalisation and death, in several countries. Similarly, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of face masks by the Malaysian population, particularly the millennial generation, became widespread. However, few studies have been conducted on the millennials' willingness to continue using face masks following their COVID-19 vaccination programme in Malaysia. The purpose of this study is to gain insight into the factors that influence millennials' willingness to wear face masks following their COVID-19 vaccination programme in Malaysia. The application of the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) as the guiding principle relationship enables an understanding of the millennials' continued intention to use a face mask following the COVID-19 vaccination. The hypotheses were tested using a partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The study's significance is that it advances the theoretical methodology and has practical implications for the public, scholars and practitioners, marketers, healthcare, and government in terms of prioritising willingness to continue using face masks following COVID-19 vaccination among Malaysian millennials.

This article discusses the art of traditional musical instruments of the Bruneian Malays on the west coast, Sabah. Touching on the artistic aspect, it is part of a culture rich in homogeneity and beauty. These tribes have their own arts according to their respective cultures and religions. For people who are Muslims, they use the art of musical instruments for purposes that do not conflict with religion and thus symbolize the life traditions of a race, especially the Bruneian Malays on the west coast of Sabah. Kulintangan and gambus have been considered as a traditional musical instrument for the people. This musical instrument has long been known by other races, and it is often played during weddings, festivals and so on. The musical instruments of Brunei's Malays have similarities and differences from other races in Sabah. However, the scope of the study is focused on the west coast of Sabah because this area still preserves musical instruments as a traditional art form of Brunei Malays. In this study, a qualitative method approach was applied as a methodology to obtain findings. Therefore, this article will discuss the perception of the Malays in accepting the art of musical instruments as a tradition and the efforts made by the Malays of Brunei as well as the efforts of the Malays of Brunei and stakeholders to preserve the tradition of kulintangan and gambus as an art of musical instruments.

Much has been written about service quality, perceived value and its impacts on satisfaction and behavioural intentions. However, little research on this perspective has been carried out in public rail transit settings in Malaysia. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between service quality, perceived value, satisfaction, and behavioural intentions of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) passengers in Klang Valley, Malaysia. A survey method via structured questionnaire was employed and analysis was performed using Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS). Perceived value for money and service quality are found to be important predictors of satisfaction and behavioural intentions among MRT passengers. Thus, the findings lend support to the means end chain theory. This study also includes a discussion, conclusions, implications, and limitations of the study.

For the past few years, demand for health and beauty products has been high, including bird nests, which has led to the thriving of Malaysia’s swiftlet ranching industry. Hence, the macro parameters related to swiftlet housing characteristics and designs owned by swiftlet ranchers in Sabah and Sarawak were identified. The size of the house, placement of the bird entrance, house orientation, flooring, and location were observed. The descriptive data were analyzed by using ANOVA (p<0.05) and the interaction between variables was determined by using Chi-square regression via SPSS 25.0. The number of swiftlet houses in Sabah was identified as higher than in Sarawak. 57% of the swiftlet houses are in the agricultural area, and 41% of the swiftlet houses are in the forest area. 37% of the chosen orientation by a rancher in Sabah was in the directions of east to west and north to south. This data was significantly different compared to Sarawak as 25% of the houses in Sarawak were constructed from southeast to northwest by the ranchers. The two-floor design was most preferred by the ranchers in Sabah and Sarawak with a total of 43% respectively, followed by a three-floor design at 27% in Sabah and 34% in Sarawak. The size of the swiftlet buildings preferred by ranchers in Sabah and Sarawak was small, with a length and width below 10 feet. Meanwhile, there is no significant difference (p>0.05) in terms of bird entrance, placement, and measurement of the swiftlet houses. Several improvements are needed to reduce the limitation, such as widening the distribution of survey locations or in quantitative aspects, such as edible bird nest production among farmers.

The increased awareness on climate change and various environmental problems has induced consumers’ eco-friendly or green purchase intention. However, the perceptions that firms are disseminating inaccurate or confusing green information (greenwashing) have increased customer scepticism about environmentally friendly or green claims. The link between green scepticism and consumers’ intention to buy green products remained unclear. This paper aims to address this lacuna by thoroughly examining the attribution formation, motives and outcome of green scepticism based on the attribution theory. Overall, this comprehensive model advances valuable insights for marketers seeking to understand the conceptually distinct nature of green scepticism and consumer green purchase intention. In a nutshell, this study charts future prospects for green marketing research and presents a number of theoretical and practical significances for business practitioners and marketing scholars.

All residents must receive recycling education because environmentally conscious residents are more likely to become environmentally conscious citizens. In addition, recycling is known to be one of the strategies used to reduce reliance on landfills; this is important because further inaction will lead to landfills reaching maximum capacity. The study intends to explore the factors affecting the recycling behaviour among residents in the city and semi-dense areas in Johor, Malaysia. In this study, 400 respondents who live in highly dense areas (city) and semi-dense areas in Johor, Malaysia, will be surveyed. Multistage sampling will be utilised to choose the sample (recycling and non-recycling residents), and a questionnaire with closed-ended questions will be developed to gather study data. Regression, correlation, and descriptive statistics will examine the acquired data. These findings are expected to offer policymakers like district offices, municipal councils, city councils, and non-government organizations (NGOs) helpful information to plan and develop a more effective recycling policy and activities in Malaysia.

In addition, recycling is known to be one of the strategies used to reduce reliance on landfills; this is important because further inaction will lead to landfills reaching maximum capacity. The study intends to explore the factors affecting the recycling behaviour among residents in the city and semi-dense areas in Johor, Malaysia. In this study, 400 respondents who live in highly dense areas (city) and semi-dense areas in Johor, Malaysia, will be surveyed. Multistage sampling will be utilised to choose the sample (recycling and non-recycling residents), and a questionnaire with closed-ended questions will be developed to gather study data. Regression, correlation, and descriptive statistics will examine the acquired data. These findings are expected to offer policymakers like district offices, municipal councils, city councils, and non-government organizations (NGOs) helpful information to plan and develop a more effective recycling policy and activities in Malaysia.","PeriodicalId":235421,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Environment Management","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130705081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
