This study falls under discourse analysis studies, focusing on using the academic register in Arabic research articles. Language register refers to using a form of language in a specific context. The use of language register varies according to the structure of discourse and field. For example, language register is used in scientific discourse, entertainment, politics, and health. Using accurate and appropriate scientific language in terms of vocabulary can demonstrate the strength of an article in reporting research results. The current study was conducted to identify the use of the academic register in Arabic via research articles focusing on academic vocabulary. This study was prompted by several issues, such as the weakness of students and researchers in producing quality research reports from the aspect of scientific writing, in addition to the limited number of studies about the academic language register in Arabic. This study was descriptive, using a qualitative approach and content analysis techniques. The unit analyzed was academic vocabulary words taken from six journal articles on Arabic language issues. All articles were written by native Arabic speakers and published by the Arabic journal “al-Majallah al-Urduniyyah fi al-Ulum al-Tarbawiyyah” in Jordan. The academic language register was analyzed using the approach of Ure and Ellis (1977). It was based on the 100 academic vocabulary words (Academic Vocabulary List or AVL) generated by Gardner and Davies (2014). The study's results found that all the suggested words from the AVL were used by Arabic-language researchers in writing their articles with various frequencies. Out of the 100 words selected from the AVL, 71 to 90 vocabulary words were used in each article. The most used word was the word دِرَاسَة which appeared 464 times, but the word شَجَّعَ appeared only 3 times, the lowest frequency.

Since mid-2020, mostly caused by the Covid-19 outbreak which forced almost all academic activities involving massive participants to be cancelled due to health and safety reasons, the webinar suddenly became a very famous activity among learners. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the learners’ experience and perspective in this type of academic interaction, especially in Arabic webinar activity. Since this kind of interaction has become an upward trend that is applied massively by almost all institutions, observing it through a cross-sectional survey could be significant research. Thus, we use mixed (quantitative and qualitative-descriptive) methods to explore not only the perspectives of the participants but also to describe their experiences. It starts by providing data from survey results, classifying, analyzing, and presenting the analysis. Based on the recorded learners’ experience, it can be noticed that the Arabic webinars held by various Arabic language academies and institutions across the world were considered quite effective and efficient. Even though there are still many obstacles and shortcomings, especially from a technical point of view, this kind of web-based seminar can be one of the promising alternatives for Arabic learning when the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing. Most of the participants were satisfied with the performance of the Arabic language webinars they have participated in, indicated by a high score in the general assessment.

In the COVID-19 outbreak, the implementation of learning which is usually carried out face-to-face has been shifted to virtual form. The performance of education during the pandemic has undergone significant changes so that the problems found in its implementation can be studied to find solutions to these problems. This study was conducted to obtain data on the performance and progress of Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through library research. The study was conducted to provide a clear, objective, systematic, analytical, and critical description of the implementation of Arabic language learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Tanah Datar during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in 2021 in one of the Ibtidaiyah Madrasah in Tanah Datar Regency. The research results are sourced from several instruments that have been prepared previously, such as questionnaires or research questionnaires to serve as a supporting tool in conducting direct observations and interviews with the research object. In addition, the data of this study were sourced from the results of interviews with the Ibtidaiyah madrasah. His study results indicate that learning Arabic during the pandemic has advantages and disadvantages. The obstacles found in the implementation of learning can be in the form of the psychological conditions of students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, less than optimal teacher performance in preparing lessons, internal family problems, and the environmental conditions of the surrounding community.

Teaching Arabic poetry in addition to learning vocabulary and the uniqueness of Arabic literature students can also learn character. Such as the importance of preserving the moral values, and blameworthy morals, and emphasizing that the violators' existence promotes virtuous morals values, with opposition things are characterized. The nations' power is represented by morals power. The research problem is that blameworthy moral and moral revolt has never been investigated before. The poets expressed their viewpoints that are contrary to the general prevailing, the importance of promoting honored meanings, and staying away from its opposites. The descriptive method and analytical inductive of much Abbasid poetry were used. The result is to warn against revolting and to prove the opposition's existence. The values give humans a lofty goal to pursue, whether they are of his mind, or subject to his Lord's orders. The researcher highlights the morals and warns against their nastiness. By conducting studies on the morals origins and its branches with the witnesses call and proverbs of the Arabs' poetry from various times, the Arabs' poetry contains abundant material of pride in virtuous morals with an interest in clarifying the revolting of poets.

This paper aims to analyze the translation procedures adopted by Ihsan Abbas in translating culture-specific items in Herman Melville’s novel ‘Moby-Dick.’ This novel has been selected as a case study because of its popularity worldwide and the nature of its language. Translation procedures used for dealing with each CSI are investigated using a theoretical model developed in this study based on models proposed by Aixelá (1996) and Davies (2003). Particular emphasis is placed on displaying the translator’s masterful Arabic translation. Good diction and managed to mitigate some of the insuperable challenges faced in translating. That is culturally embedded references, sea vocabulary, and cetological terms into a language lacking ready equivalents for such highly specialized terminology.

This study aims to describe the self-regulated learning strategy of students of the Arabic Language Education Program at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin in online Arabic lectures during the pandemic. This study used a qualitative method with an exploratory investigative approach to identify 100 students' self-regulated learning strategies to support learning Arabic from a distance. This study examines 4 (four) indicators in self-regulated learning strategies, namely Goal Setting, Environment Structuring, Task Strategies, and Time Management. The results showed that one of the goal-setting strategies, where students hope to master the elements of Arabic and have Arabic language skills, got the highest average score of 5.68 out of 6. While the time management, in which students benefitted from online learning as it is flexible in determining additional study time, got the lowest average score of 3.95 out of a scale of 6. This value still shows a positive trend which can be interpreted that those students have carried out self-regulated learning strategies well in online Arabic lectures

Several educational institutions in the world have faced severe problems in Indonesia. The Indonesian government made the policy of limiting face-to-face learning activities to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic recently. Self-learning is one way to overcome problems that occur so that the learning process continues to run well, especially during this pandemic. The development of technology science also plays an essential role in education today. Efforts to include technology in education in the form of a textbook and video assistant based on self-learning are needed by students to improve their Arabic calligraphy writing skills. This study aims to produce textbooks and video assistants based on self-learning for Institute Sunan Giri Ponorogo students to help the learning process of Arabic calligraphy, which is easy and exciting and reveals viability and effectiveness.
