The aim of this research to identify the correlation between the character building and peaceful thinking of students at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School (Gontor). Character building is a fundamental part of Islamic education in Darussalam Islamic Boarding School as an agenda for educating their students, like: sincerity, simplycity, self-sufficency Islamic Brotherhood and freedom . This is descriptive quantitative research which observation and questionaire were used to colected the data. Population of this research were 400 pupils. Meanwhile, the sample of 200 students were as  respondents of this research (simple random sampling). This research was found that there were correlation between character building and peaceful thinking of students. The r score = 0,511 and r table = 1,64 and p = 0.000 , 0.05. It means, H o rejected and recieved H 1 . There were correlation between character building and peaceful thinking of students.

THE STUDENTS’ LANGUAGE LEARNING STRATEGIES IN READING AND SPEAKING 学生在阅读和口语方面的语言学习策略

Many types of learning strategies can be used by the language learners to make the learning process running well. However, in the doing the practice the students are identified have limited types of learning strategies and it makes them face many problems in learning. The aims of the study is to find the typical language learning strategies used by the English Department Students in speaking and reading in English. The result of the study showed that the level of the strategies used were still medium. Thus, the students of English Department are suggested to apply many strategies. it also hopes that the teachers are able to train sufficient strategy.
语言学习者可以使用多种学习策略来使学习过程顺利进行。然而,在实践中发现学生的学习策略类型有限,这使他们在学习中面临许多问题。本研究的目的是寻找英语系学生在英语口语和阅读中使用的典型语言学习策略。研究结果表明,使用策略的水平仍然是中等。因此,建议英语系的学生运用多种策略。同时也希望教师能够培养出足够的策略。

Professional development is a long-life journey and rewarding in an academia. Teachers are required to improve their competences. They do not only enhance their subject matters but also upgrade their pedagogical knowledge. Professional development can be conducted through many ways. It could be done through formal education, informal training or self-reflection. This is reflexivity on an English teacher’s professional journey. It scrutinizes phases of language learning and teaching awareness. The article starts with my first contact with English and then goes on to learning-teaching experience in the later phases. The reflection on these experiences shapes my teaching identity and improves teaching competence.

The aim of this paper is to describe the application of technology on education and its impact on the learning process and teachers’ role in the future. This is library research, where the result of analysis showed that the future education is oriented on the students’ involvement on each learning activities. The students are hoped to be active and autonomous ones in using learning facilities and sources in line with the development of technology. The application of technology brings positive effect on the role of teachers in the future, which is signed by the changes of teachers’ role in the teaching and learning process.
本文的目的是描述技术在教育中的应用及其对未来学习过程和教师角色的影响。这是一项图书馆研究,分析结果表明,未来的教育将以学生参与每一项学习活动为导向。希望学生能够积极自主地使用与技术发展相适应的学习设备和资源。技术的应用给未来教师的角色带来了积极的影响,表现为教师在教与学过程中角色的变化。

The purpose of the study is to describe the types of plagiarism done by the students in finishing their lesson tasks. There are three factors that made students did the plagiarism, namely: (1) take other writings and acknowledge them as their own writing, (2) take ideas from part of others’ writing and change to own language , and (3) take all parts of writings without changing the ideas  and language. The causes of plagiarism are: (1) the development of technology and information and, (2) high lessen studi.

T he purpose of the study is to describe positive contribution of Reinforcement Skill to make-up of productive behaviour and creativity of student and to investigate supplementary factor and his resistor. Result of research depict that theoretically learn have applied skill reinforcement in course of study but not yet optimal fully, precisely or as according to what expected. Special at study of PAI applying of skill reinforcement enough give positive contribution to creativity and improvement of productive behaviour of student, this matter see step by step can awaken ardour and spirit of learning active student, inovatif, effective, pleasant and creative.

The existence of religious science and general science has been the long discourse that reduced the scientific world.  The separation of these two sciences, often refers to as science dichotomy, has brought about serious implication not only to institutions and facilities, but also the main resources of these two branches. More serious implication of the separation of these two sciences has also created the gaps particularly on the superiority of the general science.  This unhealthy and lack of objective view to religious science may not be taken for granted; comprehensive explanations of scientific resources, scientific method, and the historical existence of the two branches should be explored to reshape it in a strong unity and complementary.

Abstract : The aims of the study are to describe: 1. Speaking strategies that are most frequently used by the students of the English Department in Tarbiyah Faculty; 2. The contribution of Students’ Speaking-Related LLS in developing their speaking ability; and, 3. The contribution of students’ learning motivation in the development of their speaking skills. speaking test, strategy inventory for language learning (SILL), and learning motivation questionnaire were employed to collect the data. The research findings revealed that there were thirty-four speaking strategies which were most frequently used by high, average, and low achievement students. The findings also showed that bothe students’ speaking strategies and motivation give significant contribution on students’ speaking ability.  Thus, speaking lecturers are expected to be able to implement innovative and varied teaching techniques.
摘要:本研究的目的是描述:1。Tarbiyah学院英语系学生最常用的口语策略;2. 与口语相关的语言学习对学生口语能力培养的贡献, 3。学生的学习动机对口语技能发展的贡献。采用口语测试、语言学习策略量表和学习动机问卷进行数据收集。研究结果显示,高、中、低成绩学生最常使用的演讲策略有34种。研究结果还表明,学生的口语策略和动机对学生的口语能力都有显著的影响。因此,演讲讲师被期望能够实施创新和多样化的教学技巧。

The purpose of this study was to describe how the ability to write a persuasive essay in class X students of SMAN 1 South Solok seen from the characteristics of persuasive essay that contains an invitation, containing facts, logical sentences, and trustworthy. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in this research is a test post. Findings showed that there were 28 essays written by the students, which amounted to 21 perfectly qualified individuals with high mastery 96% - 100%, 5 people who get close enough to the qualification level of mastery of 46% - 55%, and 2 people are getting poor qualifier with mastery level 16 % - 25%, and the level of class X students of SMAN 1 South Solok in writing a persuasive essay in terms of the characteristics of persuasion that contains an invitation, containing facts, logical sentences, and trustworthy quite well with the average value of 86% (level of mastery 86% - 95%).

The method used in this research is descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in this research is a test post. Findings showed that there were 28 essays written by the students, which amounted to 21 perfectly qualified individuals with high mastery 96% - 100%, 5 people who get close enough to the qualification level of mastery of 46% - 55%, and 2 people are getting poor qualifier with mastery level 16 % - 25%, and the level of class X students of SMAN 1 South Solok in writing a persuasive essay in terms of the characteristics of persuasion that contains an invitation, containing facts, logical sentences, and trustworthy quite well with the average value of 86% (level of mastery 86% - 95%).","PeriodicalId":30614,"journal":{"name":"AlTalim","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67464702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The keyword to achieve quality education is depend on  profesional teacher  in their fields, therefore there should be a concrete step in an effort to lift the image of the teacher  profession as an honorable profession, so that teachers can work as much as possible in building a quality education. Professional responsibility of teachers is not fragmentary, but with entirely, completely, as much as possible from upstream to downstream. All thing are not only teacher responsibility of the students or schools, but will be fully responsible to Allah SWT.
实现素质教育的关键是依靠专业的教师,因此要切实提升教师职业的荣誉职业形象,使教师在素质教育建设中发挥最大的作用。教师的职业责任不是零零碎碎的,而是具有整体性、整体性,尽可能由上游到下游。所有的事情不仅仅是老师对学生或学校的责任,而是要对安拉全权负责。
