Staff members at a movie company Daiei, known for presumably the world’s best film technology, continued to produce movies for several months even after the company went bankrupt. It was because they desired to make outstanding films. A director can create a high-quality film by combining the skills and ideas of such staff. Akira Kurosawa named the group that could produce excellent works the “Community of Talents”. By using research on a community as a clue, this paper aims to highlight how the “Community of Talents” is organized. First I point out that a “Community of Talents” is formulated primarily by the labor of the staff based on Kumazawa’s “Community on the Shop Floor”. The paper subsequently refers to research by Heinrich Nicklish, a representative researcher on the study of community in Germany, in an attempt to verify that the community is a group of people established on functions. Lastly, the paper explores Guido Fisher’s research to reveal the role of democratic leadership centered on the director who transforms the objectified staff in the organization into an independently-minded presence and help them prove their abilities. The paper continues to emphasize the significance of leadership in the formation of the “Community of Talents”.

This project proposes the use of bagasse for the production of mushroom fungus (Pleurotus ostreatus), as a source of substrate in order to take advantage of the waste generated in the production of mezcal. It took place in Villa Sola de Veja, Oaxaca. Mushroom fungus is considered to be a nutritional supplement with a high nutrition value. For the production was considered the bagasse of Maguey, because in this community there is production of mezcal and waste is not used. This activity contributes to the generation of employment, the use of endogenous resources. The project was carried out in two phases; In the first, the methodology of Dr. Roberto Hernández Sampieri was applied, the second was selected the substrate of Maguey bagasse, pasteurisation of the substrate, sowing, incubation of the mycelium, irrigation, harvesting and commercialization of mushroom fungus. Under these circumstances, 93 kilograms in three cuts were obtained for two months, at a price of $100.00 per kilogram. For which an investment of $2,721.26 was required, with production costs $4,587.00, generating sales of $9,300.00, recovering the investment in the first production period, in such a way that the profits correspond to $1,991.74. As a conclusion we have to continue the project EM a second period the profits increases to $4,713.00, since only the costs of production will be covered, in this way there is an economic, social and environmental equilibrium that improves the living conditions of families and the environment.

This paper aims to identify and evaluate the socio-economic impacts of the Forth Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge Development on the local tourism services suppliers in Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. However, the key 15 interviewees were chosen purposively to be representatives of the population in this study. Both descriptive and analytical data results were interpreted to attain interesting finding of the socio-economic impacts on the five sectors of local tourism service suppliers namely accommodations, food and beverages, transportation, attraction and entertainment, and destination. Interestingly, the finding has shown two main aspects, which are: 1) the number of tourists increased while the negative economic and social impact increased, 2) the structure of careers in tourism services suppliers have changed due to the friendship bridge developments and new immigration policy. The study suggested that the local tourism service suppliers should be a self-resilience to this development and create the human-made tourist destinations and activities in the community.

GARCH does a better job predicting carry trade strategy returns than the foreign exchange returns. Using two time periods from 1998-2010 and then from 2010-2018 we find the daily variance to have dropped between period 1 and period 2 for both daily foreign exchange spot prices and daily carry trade strategy returns. Comparing daily spot price returns to daily carry trade strategy returns in each time period we find differences in the sample variances. Daily variance in the foreign exchange market has changed within the last twenty years. As one of the most liquid markets, the FX market has seen significant losses in both spot price returns and carry trade strategy returns. The current market place has historic low levels of volatility. Since the 2008 financial crash asset prices have steadily risen in levels reducing downside risk. In addition, foreign exchange rates have been stable. Given a decade’s worth of slow and steady growth coupled with stabilization has reduced the variance in returns. Popular predictive volatility model GARCH has a long-run variance component. The inclusion of such a parameter allows for the model to remember past financial crisis or “normal” times. Returns in the carry trade are marked by periods of severe downward risk and losses. The carry trade will often have long-term trends of small positive returns only to give back all of the returns in one downward move.

Social contract theory is the theory that illustrates the origin of a state formation. The theory of social contracts is composed of several instruments, including natural human rights, morals and mutual agreement (common will). Humans (individuals) surrender their rights to the ruler (state). The rights that are handed over to the state include rights in the field of public law (public interest). One of the rights in the field of public law is the right to establish norms in criminal law (ius poenale) and the right to convict (ius puniendi). Through the existence of penal mediation in Indonesia, the state’s right to convict offenders is reduced. It also means that the rights handed over by individuals to the authorities (state) in social contracts are reduced. Its theoretical implication is that the right of the state to impose criminal sanctions on offenders who are based on the surrender of individual rights to social contracts, begins to be purified again with the settlement between individuals through penal mediation on violations of public (criminal) law that take place.

The Balanced Scorecard is a strategic communication tool focus on long term decisions supported by four perspectives alignment: learning and growth, internal processes, customers, and financial. The increased concerns regarding sustainability lead to the integration of social and environmental issues, in the so-called Sustainability Balanced Scorecard (SBSC). We aim to design the SBSC of a large Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Company. Data was collected from interviews and documentary analysis. We characterize the sustainability perspective, analyse its integration in strategic management, and its systematization in the strategic map. Such design highlights the strategic goals and the relationship between each perspective. The sustainability perspective has a direct impact on all of the other perspectives. The clear and schematic view of the SBSC alignment empower transformation, provide competitive advantages, and benefits measurement in the long term.

Group Model Building (GMB) is a methodology which involves a target group in the business of model formulation and conceptualization. It is crucial to obtain extended formal models and accelerate group decision support for future model building. In this paper the development of two GMB workshops for two Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) from the Basque Industrial Sector is presented. These workshops focused on one problem: the analysis of the commitment of workers to the organization. Each session in each company was of four-hour duration and involved eight workers and two facilitators. This article highlights the importance of involving decision-making agents from each company in the reflection and process of finding solutions for their problem. The results suggest that in spite of the inherent differences and distinct features of each company, both have important similarities when tackling the same problem. These similarities could be translated to a general pattern conceptual model, which could be simulated as a generic model in the future.
