Dietary Selenium Peptide Supplementation for Increasing the Growth of African Catfish Clarias gariepinus 饲粮中添加硒肽促进非洲鲇鱼生长的研究

Selenium is an essential micromineral needed in small amounts in the body, but affects themetabolism and health of aquaculture organisms. This study aimed to analyze the growth of catfish(Clarias gariepinus) supplemented with selenium peptide through the coating method on feed. Therewere four different treatments, namely K (feed without selenium peptide), A (feed with seleniumpeptide of 3 g kg-1feed), B (feed with selenium peptide of 6 g kg-1feed), and C (feed with seleniumpeptide of 9 g kg-1feed). A total of 15 catfish with weight of 21.80 ± 0.29 g were kept in an aquariumat dimension of 90 x 40 x 45 cm3filled with water at a depth of 35 cm (Volume of 108 L) for 45 days.Fish were fed three times a day at satiation. Water quality management was carried out by the use ofsimple filtration in the container and water replacement to ensure optimum water quality values forcatfish growth. The results showed that the growth performance parameters (final biomass, finalindividual weight, survival rate, and daily growth rate) of catfish fed with selenium peptide weresignificantly different (p<0.05) from catfish fed without selenium peptide. Production performance of Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus and mineral balance in aquaponic, biofloc, and aquabioponic culture systems 尼罗罗非鱼在水培、生物絮团和水培系统中的生产性能和矿物质平衡

Aquaponics and biofloc are aquaculture techniques for reducing nitrogenous waste with less water exchange. Aquaponics reduces nitrate (NO3-) through the role of vegetable plants, while biofloc assimilates ammonia (NH4+) through the role of floc-forming bacteria. In this study a collaboration was designed between aquaponics and biofloc called aquabioponics. This study was conducted to evaluate the performance of tilapia production, as well as to observe the dynamics of P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, and Cu minerals formed in the system. This study used a completely randomized design with three treatments and three replications, namely aquaponics (AP), biofloc (BF), and aquabioponics (AB). The AP integrates water in fish tank with vegetable, and does not use additional organic carbon sources. BF uses the addition of an organic carbon source, but does not integrate vegetables. Meanwhile, AB uses the addition of an organic carbon source (half of the dose in BF) and also integrates vegetables. Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus with a length of 5.56 ± 0.13 cm and a weight of 5.92 ± 0.47 g totaling 200 individuals were monitored for 60 days in a fiber tank containing 500 L of water in each treatment. The vegetables used in the AP and AB are Pok Choi which is harvested every 30 days. In this study, aquabioponics is a system that produces the best tilapia production performance. The minerals Ca, Mg, Mn, Zn, and Cu are thought to be essential in aquaponics and aquabioponics, while Mg is thought to be essential in bioflocs.   Keywords: aquaponic, aquabioponic, biofloc, minerals, Nile tilapia   ABSTRAK   Akuaponik dan bioflok adalah teknik akuakultur untuk mereduksi limbah nitrogen dengan sedikit pertukaran air. Nursery of bonylip barb fish Osteochilus hasselti in an aquaponics system 鱼菜共生系统中骨刺鱼苗圃的研究

Bonylip barb fish Osteochilus hasselti is traditionally cultivated as a by-product in a polyculture system due to the problem of seed availability. The increase in local market demand for O. hasselti has not been met due to the low productivity of the growers. In an effort to increase the availability of fish seeds, intensification at the nursery stage has the potential to be effective in overcoming the limitations of land and water for cultivation. The aquaponic system can maximize yields through vertical use of space and also overcome water limitations with a recirculation system. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the aquaponics system on the intensification of O. hasselti nursery. The treatment tested was the stocking density of O. hasselti at an initial length of 4.28 ± 0.52 cm and a weight of 0.73 ± 0.29 g as many as 100 ind./m2, 150 ind./m2, and 200 ind./m2 in an aquaponic system with bok choy plants (Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis). Bonylip barb fish nursery for 30 days using aquaponic system showed that the treatment resulted in maximum survival with absolute length growth, feed conversion ratio, coefficient of variation in length and weight which were not significantly different (P>0.05). At densities above 100 ind./m2, the absolute weight growth value and the specific growth rate were higher. Overall, it can be concluded that the aquaponics system can be used for O. hasselti nursery at high stocking densities with the best production performance at a stocking density of 200 ind./m2. Peningkatan permintaan pasar lokal terhadap nilem belum dapat dipenuhi karena rendahnya produktivitas pembesaran. Dalam upaya meningkatkan ketersediaan benih ikan, intensifikasi pada tahap pendederan berpotensi efektif mengatasi keterbatasan lahan dan air untuk budidaya. Perkembangan teknologi budidaya dengan sistem akuaponik dapat memaksimalkan hasil melalui pemanfaatan ruang secara vertikal dan mengatasi keterbatasan air dengan sistem resirkulasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas sistem akuaponik terhadap intensifikasi pendederan ikan nilem. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah padat tebar ikan nilem dengan panjang 4,28 ± 0,52 cm dan bobot 0,73 ± 0,29 g sebanyak 100 ekor/m2, 150 ekor/m2, dan 200 ekor/m2 pada sistem akuaponik dengan tanaman pak choi Brassica rapa subsp. chinensis. Pendederan nilem selama 30 hari dalam sistem akuaponik memperlihatkan bahwa perlakuan menghasilkan kelangsungan hidup serta panjang dan bobot yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Pada kepadatan di atas 100 ekor/m2 diperoleh nilai pertumbuhan bobot mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik yang lebih tinggi. Secara keseluruhan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem akuaponik dapat digunakan untuk pendederan ikan nilem pada padat tebar yang tinggi

Aquaponics is the cultivation of fish and plants in a series of systems, either in one container or in separate containers, by paying attention to the balance between fish, plants, and aquatic microorganisms. One of the obstacles in aquaponic activities is that vegetable growth is not optimal due to a lack of dissolved nutrients, so further research is needed to make better plant growth. This study aimed to evaluate catfish and water spinach growth performance in an aquaponic system by adding AB mix nutrients at different fish stocking densities. This study used a completely randomized design with three differences in stocking densities of catfish (150 fish/m3, 200 fish/m3, and 250 fish/m3) as test animals with four replications where AB mix was added to each treatment. The growth performance of catfish is better in control with a stocking density of 250 fish/m3 and without adding nutrients. The growth performance of catfish decreased with the addition of AB mix nutrients, while the growth of water spinach was better. The growth rate of catfish without adding AB mix nutrients was higher than in other treatments. In contrast, all treatments with the addition of AB mix increased the growth performance of water spinach, with the stocking density of catfish not affecting the growth of water spinach plants. This study aimed to evaluate the physiological performance and status of comet goldfish (Carassius auratus) in aquascape system with different aquatic plant species. Comet goldfish (6.5 ± 0.073 cm length and 9.1 ± 0.1 g weight in average) were reared in aquaria with 10 fish/L density per aquarium for 45 days. The results obtained a positive correlation between SR value and SGR value, followed by a significant different value among the treatments applied (P<0.05). Based on the total chromatophore cells, comet goldfish reared in aquarium containing aquatic plants had a significant different (P<0.05) on the total chromatophore cells compared to aquarium without aquatic plants (control). After blood glucose test, comet goldfish reared with aquatic plants consistently showed a lower blood glucose level than without aquatic plants. The liver SOD level of comet goldfish obtained a significant different value between fish reared with aquatic plants and without aquatic plants, while the MDA value on all treatments was insignificantly different. Also, increased total erythrocytes, total leucocytes, hemoglobin, and hematocrit were found on comet goldfish reared with aquatic plants. This study concludes that aquatic plants in rearing system can improve the survival rate, specific growth rate, health status of comet goldfish due to mutualistic symbiosis discovered between fish and aquatic plants. Pengaruh Penambahan Oodev dan Tepung Kunyit pada Pakan Terhadap Performa Reproduksi Ikan Plati Sunset (Xiphophorus maculatus) 对食用乌德夫和姜黄面粉对普拉提日落鱼(木质素黄斑菌)繁殖性能的影响

ABSTRAK   Ikan plati merupakan ikan hias air tawar yang banyak diminati masyarakat karena memiliki bentuk dan warna tubuh yang indah, selain itu harganya yang terjangkau membuat ikan ini laris di pasaran.  Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi pembudidaya ikan plati adalah belum tercapainya target produksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengaji pengaruh penambahan Oodev dan tepung kunyit serta kombinasi keduanya yang diberi pada pakan terhadap jumlah produksi ikan plati. Rancangan percobaan pada penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A (kontrol), B (Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk), C (tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan), dan D (Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk + tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan). Terdapat tiga ulangan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Parameter penelitian yang diamati diantaranya presentase induk bunting, presentase induk melahirkan, frekuensi induk melahirkan, produksi larva, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva. Data diolah menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan dengan selang kepercayaan 95% Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Oodev, tepung kunyit, dan kombinasi antara keduanya pada pakan setiap satu minggu dapat meningkatkan rata-rata produksi larva yang dihasilkan. Produksi larva total pada seluruh perlakuan diurut dari yang terbanyak adalah perlakuan D, B, C, dan A dengan masing-masing produksi larva yaitu 428, 251, 209, dan 93 ekor. Penambahan Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk, tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan meningkatkan produksi larva sebanyak 3, 2, dan 5 kali dibanding kontrol. Persentase kelangsungan hidup larva diurut dari yang tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan D, B, C, A yaitu 97.51%, 95.79%, 95.65%, 93.32%. Kata kunci: larva, Oodev, plati, tepung kunyit

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengaji pengaruh penambahan Oodev dan tepung kunyit serta kombinasi keduanya yang diberi pada pakan terhadap jumlah produksi ikan plati. Rancangan percobaan pada penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A (kontrol), B (Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk), C (tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan), dan D (Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk + tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan). Terdapat tiga ulangan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Parameter penelitian yang diamati diantaranya presentase induk bunting, presentase induk melahirkan, frekuensi induk melahirkan, produksi larva, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva. Data diolah menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan dengan selang kepercayaan 95% Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Oodev, tepung kunyit, dan kombinasi antara keduanya pada pakan setiap satu minggu dapat meningkatkan rata-rata produksi larva yang dihasilkan. Produksi larva total pada seluruh perlakuan diurut dari yang terbanyak adalah perlakuan D, B, C, dan A dengan masing-masing produksi larva yaitu 428, 251, 209, dan 93 ekor. Penambahan Oodev 0.5 ml/kg induk, tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan meningkatkan produksi larva sebanyak 3, 2, dan 5 kali dibanding kontrol. Coffee by-products can be used as a feed additive for red Nile tilapia. This study aimed to evaluate the utilization of different dietary coffee husk supplementation dosages on the growth and antioxidative activity of red Nile tilapia (Oreochromis sp.). This study was designed following the completely randomized design experimental method, containing five dietary supplementation treatments, namely P0 (control, 0%), P1 (1%), P2 (2%), P3 (3%), and P4 (4%). Fish were reared for 8 weeks and fed three times a day. Parameters observed contained growth performance and antioxidative activity. The results showed that dietary coffee husk powder supplementation treatments provide higher growth than control treatment. Based on blood chemicals, coffee husk-supplemented diets could enhance the HDL content and reduce cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL (P<0.05). Superoxide dismutase enzyme was also found higher in coffee husk supplemented diets than in control diet (P<0.05). The MDA level decreased on the coffee husk-supplemented diet treatment and was lower than the control treatment (P<0.05). Dietary supplementation of coffee husk could positively affect liver performance, based on hepatosomatic index and glycogen level. Grouper has a large market demand and to meet this, the intensification of grouper cultivation is being carried out more massively. This situation increases the spread of diseases, one of which is sea leeches. This study aimed to obtain the concentration and duration of immersion garlic powder for the control of leeches that infects hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus >< E. lanceolatus). This study used a factorial randomized design (concentration factor and garlic soaking time factor) with nine treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study was a combination of 0 g/L 0,375 g/L, and 0,750 g/L garlic powder concentration and immersion times of 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes. The results showed that concentrations of 0.375 g/L and 0.750 g/L were able to significantly reduce the intensity of leeches infecting hybrid grouper, namely 7.43% and 13.29%, respectively. The interaction between concentration and duration of immersion garlic powder on the percentage decrease in intensity was not significantly different. Immersion of garlic powder for 60 minutes was able to reduce the intensity of the leech by 9.56% and the results were significantly different with the immersion time of 20 and 40 minutes. However, the concentration and duration of soaking garlic powder were not able to reduce the prevalence of hybrid grouper infected with leeches. The R2 value of 0.748 means that there is a relationship between garlic powder concentration and the decrease in leech intensity in hybrid grouper. Powder garlic concentration of 0.750 g/L and immersion time of 60 minutes was able to reduce the intensity of leeches in hybrid grouper, but it was not effective in reducing the prevalence of fish infected with leeches.   Keyword: garlic, hybrid grouper, sea leech   ABSTRAK   Ikan kerapu memiliki permintaan pasar yang besar dan untuk memenuhi hal tersebut, maka intensifikasi budidaya ikan kerapu perlu dilakukan secara lebih masif. Perlakuan di dalam penelitian ini adalah kombinasi antara konsentrasi tepung bawang putih 0%, 3%, 6%, dan lama perendaman 20 menit, 40 menit, dan 60 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 0,375 mg/L dan 0,750 mg/L mampu menurunkan intensitas lintah yang menginfeksi ikan kerapu cantang secara signifikan, yaitu sebesar 7,43% dan 13,29%. Perlakuan di dalam penelitian ini adalah kombinasi antara konsentrasi tepung bawang putih 0%, 3%, 6%, dan lama perendaman 20 menit, 40 menit, dan 60 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi 0,375 mg/L dan 0,750 mg/L mampu menurunkan intensitas lintah yang menginfeksi ikan kerapu cantang secara signifikan, yaitu sebesar 7,43% dan 13,29%. Interaksi antara konsentrasi dan lama perendaman bubuk bawang putih tidak berbeda signifikan terhadap penurunan intensitas lintah. The antibacterial activity of clove Syzygium aromaticum extract and its effects on the survival rate of hybrid grouper Epinephelus fuscoguttatus ♀ × E. lanceolatus ♂ infected with Vibrio alginolyticus 丁香合子提取物抑菌活性及其对褐口石斑鱼(Epinephelus fuscoguttatus♀× E. lanceolatus♂)感染溶藻弧菌后存活率的影响

Vibrio alginolyticus which becomes the main cause of vibriosis disease in grouper culture and causes great economic loss in Asian aquaculture industries. This study investigated the antibacterial activity of clove extract and the effect of adding clove powder to the diet on survival cantang grouper infected with V. alginolyticus. The clove extraction used a maceration method. Two dose levels of clove powder were used, namely 10 and 15 g kg−1. The control treatments without clove powder supplementation contained positive control (CP) and negative control treatment (CN). The results found that the clove extract contained five major compounds. The highest compound was phenol, 2-methoxy-4-(2-propenyl)-Eugenol (64.07%). Phytochemical analysis of clove extract contained phenolics, flavonoids, and tannins at (28.53 ± 0.00) mg/g, (0.38 ± 0.00) mg/g, and (0.15 ± 0.00) %, respectively. The diameter of the clove extract inhibition zone was significantly different (P < 0.05) in all treatments. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) result presents that the clove extract can alter the V. alginolyticus cell morphology. The dietary supplementation of clove powder improves the survival rate significantly higher (P<0.05) post-challenge test. The conclusion of this research is that clove extract has antibacterial activity that can inhibit growth and cause cell morphological damage to V. alginolyticus. The application of clove powder at a dose of 15g kg-1 was able to improve the survival value which was a higher post-challenge test.   Keyword: antibacterial activity, clove, grouper, phytochemical, Vibrio alginolyticus

Different dosage applications of Bacillus sp. NP5 para-probiotic on the growth performance and resistance of Nile tilapia against Streptococcus agalactiae infection 不同剂量芽孢杆菌sp. NP5副益生菌对尼罗罗非鱼生长性能及对无乳链球菌感染抗性的影响

The aim of the study is to test the effectiveness of adding various paraprobiotic doses of Bacillus sp. NP5 through feed in improving the immune responses and resistance of tilapia juvenile (Oreochromis niloticus) to infection of Streptococcus agalactiae. Bacillus sp. NP5 paraprobiotic was produced through heat-inactivation at 95°C for 1 h. This study used a completely randomized design, which consisted of four treatments with three repetitions. The test feed was enriched with 1% paraprobiotic with a density of 108, 109, and 1010 CFU ml-1. The tilapia juvenile (10.29 ± 0.22 g) were reared for 30 days and on day 31, the fish was challenge tested with S. agalactiae (107 CFU ml-1) injected by intraperitoneal route unless the negative control was injected with PBS. The results of this study showed significantly improved growth performances and immune responses (P<0.05), compared to the control group after 30 days of paraprobiotic Bacillus sp. NP5 administered. The increased of immune responses in paraprobiotic of Bacillus sp. NP5 showed a higher survival rate (P<0.05), than positive control after the challenge tested with S. agalactiae. Administration of paraprobiotic Bacillus sp. NP5 through the commercial feed able to improve the growth performances, immune responses, and resistance of nile tilapia against S. agalactiae infection with the best result at dose of 1010 CFU ml­-1.
本试验旨在研究在饲料中添加不同剂量的芽孢杆菌NP5副益生菌对罗非鱼幼鱼(Oreochromis niloticus)免疫应答和对无乳链球菌感染的抗性的影响。采用95℃热灭活1 h制备NP5副益生菌。本研究采用完全随机设计,4个处理,3个重复。试验饲料中添加1%的副益生菌,浓度分别为108、109和1010 CFU ml-1。将罗非鱼幼鱼(10.29±0.22 g)饲养30 d,第31天,除阴性对照注射PBS外,采用腹腔注射无乳链球菌(107 CFU ml-1)攻毒试验。结果表明,与对照组相比,添加NP5副益生菌30 d后,肉鸡的生长性能和免疫应答显著提高(P<0.05)。无乳链球菌攻毒后,芽孢杆菌NP5副益生菌免疫应答增强,存活率高于阳性对照(P<0.05)。通过商品饲料添加副益生菌芽孢杆菌sp.
