The purpose of this study was to describe language acquisition in children aged 3-4 years. The subjects of this study were 3 boys from PAUD Pitara Pondok Cabe Ilir, Pamulang, South Tangerang aged about 3-4 years. The focus of this research is the acquisition at the level of fontology to syntax. Data was collected by using documentation, interview, listening, and note-taking techniques. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that language acquisition in children aged 3-5 years occurred in the fields of phonology, syntax, and semantics. In terms of phonology, subjects E, A, and R have mastered most of the consonant phonemes. However, there are also some phonemes that cannot be pronounced perfectly. In terms of morphology, subjects E, A, and R have mastered the form of words that are obtained or mastered are monomorphemic word forms (one morpheme) and language acquisition in the syntactic aspect, indicating that there is a phenomenon of the production of simple sentences or called minor sentences.

Teaching material is crucial for any teaching and learning process, including the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA). Thus, the textbook becomes the essential facilitator and acts as the deciding factor for the success of the BIPA program. This study aims to deeply explore the content of the textbook planned and designed by Alam Bahasa Indonesia. The findings of this study would contribute as a recommendation for other BIPA course institutions, tutors, and activists of BIPA in terms of the BIPA textbook. The research method applied was descriptive qualitative. Data gathering utilized comprehensive documentation of the textbook. The source textbook is BIPA ‘Bahasaku 1: Ayo Bicara Bahasa Indonesia’. The researcher became the critical instrument for data gathering and analysis. The results show that the textbook is printed in A4 size (21 x 29,7 cm) with a paper width of 80 gsm. The book consists of 10 units of lessons, and each has illustrated conversation, grammar focus in a text box, grammar exercises, cultural notes, and a vocabulary list. The materials included in every lesson unit are (1) target language grammatical structure; and (2) materials in written text, topic, and exercises.

This research aims to discuss social and cultural aspects that are closely related to Indonesian history regarding events of colonialism in the collection of short stories entitled Teh dan Pengkhianat by applying new historicism. This is a descriptive qualitative research. The theory used to analyze the relevance of literary works as social documents is from new historicism, Stephen Greenblatt (1980). Besides, the theory used to investigate colonialist perspectives on indigenous peoples is form orientalism, Edward Said (1935). The results of this research are as follows. First, historical representations are marked by fear, restraint, compulsion, and counterforce of indigenous people in the colonial period before and after 1945. Second, social representation is marked by humanity, preparation, and persistence in dealing with the variola virus that occurred in 1644. Third, cultural representations are marked by the hard work of indigenous people for equal rights in clothing style until transportation. Data that demonstrates hard work is the existence (space, process, and object), identity (matching), and unity/multiplicity (merging) of indigenous peoples and colonialists.
