This study aims to improve pupils' reading skill by comics in the 2nd grade students of Elementary School Muhammadiyah Sagan Yogyakarta in the academic year 2016/2017. This study is a classroom action research. This study used observation, and questionnaire as data collection techniques. The data collection instruments of this study were handbooks of observation, and questionnaire. The study result showed that after the pupils have used the medium of comic learning, their reading skills improved from 66% in the pre-action to 73% in the cycle 1, then improved to 86% in the cycle 2. This study is purposed to understand the effect of the use of learning media in entrepreneurship subject, 1) on student’s activeness, and 2) on student entrepreneurial interest of Grade XII of the Marketing Department of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bantul in the academic year of 2015/2016. This study is a causal associative study using a quantitative approach. The sample of the study is Grade XII students of the Marketing Department of SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Bantul, with a total of 47 students. Study data is collected using documentation. Data analysis is using multiple regression statistical analysis. The results showed that 1) there is a significant positive effect of the use of learning media on student activeness and entrepreneurial interest; 2) there is a significant positive effect of the use of learning media on student activeness; and 3) there is a significant positive effect of the use of learning media on student entrepreneurial interest. The aims of this study are: (1) to produce a reflective picture storybook media which could improve student’s discipline in elementary school and (2) to reveal the effectiveness of the developed media. This study employed R&D design. The reflective picture story book is an innovative learning media which represents learning materials integrated with illustrations and reflective stories in student’s daily life, equipped with some reflection activities. The participants were the fifth grade students of elementary schools in Bantul District, Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques were interview, observation, scale, and questionnaire. The data were analyzed by paired and independent sample t-test. The result of the study shows that: 1) the reflective picture storybook has passed the criteria of feasibility in a very good category; 2) the reflective picture storybook is effective to improve students’ discipline, according to the paired t-test at sig. 0.000 (p < 0.05). Vocabulary plays an important role in language acquisition. There is no language without words. This issue gives a new point of view on how to acquire vocabulary, especially for English Second Language (ESL) and English Foreign Language (EFL) learners. This work describes the impact of Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLS) on vocabulary acquisition to adult learners. It then summarizes the contributions of VLS in English Language Teaching (ELT), which involve several factors including: language proficiency level, gender, age, and motivation. Generally VLS offers opportunities for ESL or EFL learners and teachers to teach and learn vocabulary based on the real world situation in the classroom. The use of appropriate learning media is one of the supporting aspects of effective learning activities. However, the availability of instructional media which can support the effectiveness of classroom learning is still inadequate. This study aims to determine the needs of teachers and students to the Convertible Book media in elementary school. The subjects of this study are teachers and students in SD Negeri Purwobinangun, SD Negeri Salakan Lor and SD Negeri Pakem in Sleman Regency. This research is a survey research. Data were analyzed using descriptive analyses techniques through interview and observation. The results of this study indicated that in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, teachers are still constrained by the availability of appropriate instructional media used to improve students' analytical skills. Teachers and students needed the development of Convertible Book media, thus, the development of print media based on Scientific Approach needs to be done in order to become a medium of learning in Curriculum

Learning English in Vocational High Schools (VHSs) is different from that in Senior High Schools. The orientation of VHSs is to train students to be qualified enough for the world of work in the future. In other words, VHSs focus on the students’ readiness to do certain job expertise. In order to achieve this goal, the English teacher should provide English learning materials that are appropriate to their fields and based on the students’ need. Eventually, English teachers in VHSs are expected to have the ability to analyze the students’ needs, so that they can design appropriate instructional materials. The purpose of this research was to describe the need analysis results of students who were prospective workers as well as English learners. This study involved 21 eleventh grade students of Multimedia Study Program at vocational school SMK Negeri 5 Jayapura. The data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed based on the interpretation of frequency and percentage. The results show that the needs of students towards learning English are to meet the academic professions and the future needs of the students, including the skills of the language and some of the language components. How can teachers’ content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, or their understanding of learners be enhanced? What are the best practices to ensure teacher development as a continuum development, to have a knowledge-rich profession, and to strengthen teacher skillfulness? How do we encourage the values of professionalism, integrity, and excellence? Student learning outcomes are highly influenced by motivation and learning materials. The problem in the field indicated that the student's motivation is low and integer operations is one of the difficult learning materials Learning media become one of the ways that can be used to improving learning motivation and help students in understanding a material. This research aims to reveal the effectiveness of Garis Bilangan Pandawa for improving the learning motivation and skills to counting integers operations on integrative thematic learning of grade IV students. This research was quasi experiment with pretest-posttest group design. The subjects of the study were grade IV students and teachers from four elementary school in Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The instruments were motivation learning questionnaire and skill test completed integer operations. The data analysis used the independent sample t-test and paired sample ttest at the significance level of 0.05. The results show the Garis Bilangan Pandawa media effectively for improving the learning motivation and skills to counting integers operations on integrative thematic learning of grade IV students. The effectiveness of the media can be seen from the result of independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test which shows a significance value of 0.000. Character building has become one of the main focuses in realizing Golden Indonesia Generation of 2045 and it is done through the education process in school. Teachers need the media to facilitate the goal by combining learning and technology. The technology that can be used is Augmented Reality (AR). AR is currently developed for games and other businesses. This research is to reveal the need for augmented reality module to improve students’ environmental care character. This study employed a survey through observation, interviews, and questionnaire for teachers and students. This research was conducted in the fourth-grade students of Galur district by involving the research subject of 30 teachers and 150 students in SD Negeri Sungapan I, SD Negeri Prembulan and SD Negeri Brosot. The results of this study indicated that teachers need the media or other teaching materials that support learning activities. The AR-assisted modules were considered necessary as a supplemented media for the teachers and the students' books. Keywords—environmental caring, character, augmented

Indonesia has rules that require students to study for nine years. These rules are implemented for making a generation of a smart nation that can survive in the modern era. Therefore, the assigned teachers must be professional. Professional teachers are also mentioned in the Law that they should write scientific papers. However, many teachers do not know how to write scientific papers. In writing scientific papers, there are several important points that must be considered. The points can be mapped to the existing part of the skill tree. Then the skill tree that is created can be implemented in a form of digital media or a media for helping teachers to learn about writing scientific papers. The skill tree uses a method of learning scientific work that is supposed to improve teachers' knowledge about scientific work. Therefore, the current paper was created to analyze the effect of skill tree use in the field of education, especially its impact on teachers.
