The continuing trajectory of the development of the Russian economy does not lead to overcoming Russia’s lag behind the leading countries in terms of labor productivity. Technological inertia is one of the reasons for this lag. In the modern economy, unicorn companies play an important role in updating the technological base of production. There are fast-growing companies in Russia, but they don’t become unicorns. Unprofitable organizations and zombie companies pull off a significant part of the demand and hinder the continuation of the expansion of fast-growing companies. In a number of industries, the risk of investing in new technologies increases due to the low utilization of existing capacities. These circumstances limit the possibilities of boosting investments by lowering real interest rates. Such a measure can increase the availability of loans for firms focused on technological innovation. However, at the same time, it can prolong the existence of zombie firms that restrain the development of innovative enterprises. Time-limited licensing of the creation of new capacities is advisable in industries with strong economies of scale. This will help the formation of leading companies in the technological transformation of the Russian economy. The central bank’s measures to restrict evergreen lending to zombie firms can help transform fast-growing firms into unicorn companies.

Ten years after the first introduction of Industry 4.0 at Hannover trade fair as a concept of German industry efficiency improvement, the European Commission announced a new industrial evolution – Industry 5.0 and revealed an updated representation of Industry 5.0 as a result of attaining of triad forming stability, human-centricity and industry viability. At the nexus of the fourth and fifth phases of industry evolutions, new objects arise – intelligent cyber-social ecosystems that use the strengths of cyber-physical ecosystems, changing under the influence of digital end-to-end technologies, combined with human and artificial intelligence. The purpose of this research is to present a conceptual model of an intelligent (“smart”) cyber-social ecosystem based on multimodal hyperspace within the conditions of Industry 5.0. The research methodology includes systems science, metasystemic, ecosystemic, value-based, cyber-socio-techno-cognitive approaches; concepts of platforms, creator economy, Open innovations 2.0 based on an innovative model of a quadruple helix. As a result of this research, the evolution of the establishment and development of an ecosystemic paradigm in economic science is shown. The study describes a cognitive transition from cyber-physical systems of Industry 4.0 to intelligent cyber-social ecosystems as objects of Industry 5.0. A conceptual model has been originated, in which a cyber-social ecosystem is introduced as an ecosystem of new metalevel (“metasystem”), evolving under the conditions of the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 based on cyber-social values of human-centricity, stability and viability. The model is notable for its high level of cybernetic hyperconvergence, socioecosystemic, technological and cognitive modality to achieve ethical social goals, sustainable welfare for all humanity and each individual person, taking into account the scope of planetary capacity.

The knowledge economy increasingly based on a global electronic environment with a predominance of knowledge and information in the form of the most important productive forces. The emergence and development of knowledge-intensive enterprises, for which the problem of sustainable development is one of the main problems, mostly contributes to that process. The article shows that solving the problems of sustainable development of an enterprise is not only the most important means of maintaining and increasing its competitiveness but it also creates prerequisites for the sustainable development of the region's economy. In author's view, the great involvement of metrology, standardization and quality management in innovative processes taking place in the knowledge economy creates prerequisites for conducting scientific research on the sustainable development of knowledge-intensive enterprises on the conceptual basis of the quality economics.

The determining role of studies of the theory and methodology of strategizing for the creation of actual strategies, the focus of which is on a person and the anthroposphere as a whole, is shown. A significant place in the development of this direction belongs to the scientific school of the foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences V.L. Kvint and the series of monographs “The Library of the Strategist” published under his editorship. The purpose of the study is to show the genesis and methodological basis of research on the theory and methodology of strategy to substantiate the conceptual scheme of research on the theory and methodology of strategy. Based on the strategic imperative of a holistic system of strategy, five basic areas are identified for current research. Following the proposed classification, studies are analyzed: the theoretical foundations of strategy, the methodology of strategizing at the national and regional level, industries, and sectors of the economy, as well as the methodology of strategizing at the corporate and personal levels. The directions of possible further research are determined.

The decisive role of scientific and technological progress in shaping economic, social and cultural vectors of development of the scientific and technological progress is shown, many features of which are formed under the reverse influence of socio-economic relations and other spheres of social life and public consciousness, the noo-factors. The theory in development by the author of the New industrial society of the second generation and transformation towards a qualitatively new, post-economic state of society – a noosocial structure based on the paradigm of nooindustrial production and the nootype of satisfying the wants of people, can serve as a suitable key to understanding these patterns. There are four main aspects of progress in this direction - scientific and technological progress, socialization, solidarism and diffusion of ownership. It is emphasized that these issues can and should be solved within the framework of coordinated development of production, science and education, using not only market but also planned methods.

Institutional changes are analyzed; estimates are obtained that indicate the negative dynamics of innovative shifts in the economy for a number of parameters, despite to improve some components of the institutional and business environment. In carrying out such an analysis, we distinguished between country specificities and the framework conditions of the institutional environment for innovation. Based on the results of an empirical analysis of the institutional conditions for the creation, absorption and diffusion of innovations in Russia, key institutional constraints are formulated that restrain the innovative activity of domestic enterprises. The research methodology is based on the provisions of the systemic economic theory developed under the leadership of G. B. Kleiner at CEMI RAS. The validity of the conclusions is supported by the latest data from official statistics and major international organizations, as well as confirmed by the results obtained by leading Russian and foreign researchers and experts. The directions for improving the functions of institutions to stimulate, regulate and coordinate the interaction of the participants in innovation processes are proposed, guided by the requirements of the systemic paradigm aimed at harmonizing the interaction of all sectors in an integral socio-economic system in order to concord entrepreneurial activity, develop human potential, and intellectualize the economy.

The article analyzes the prospects for the development of the Russian oil and gas industry in the context of the energy transition and the formation of a low-carbon economy model. The paper considers the main prerequisites, factors and trends contributing to the transformation of global energy and challenges for the Russian oil and gas industry against this background. A comparative analysis of the energy paradigm of the present time and its evolution in the near future is carried out. The modern energy paradigm is characterized by the dominant influence of the use of hydrocarbons, unidirectional movement of energy flows from producer to consumer, a high degree of vertical integration of supply in the energy market, poor energy efficiency, simultaneous production and consumption of energy. The key factors in the development of the energy of the future are the decentralization of energy production, its intellectualization, the increase in the efficiency and scale of the use of renewable energy technologies, and the increase in energy efficiency in consumption. Against this background, the influence of the oil and gas industry remains unchanged for a number of strategically important areas: sea and air transport for civil and military purposes, energy in remote and hard-to-reach regions. The authors conclude that the strategic importance of the Russian oil and gas industry remains unchanged in the next 100-150 years in the competitive conditions of a volatile market and environmental constraints.
