The study of performance assessment using the problem based learning approach is not only done in the field of technical vocational education but also in the fields of health education, economic education, environmental education. Development of performance assessment studies in vocational schools with various research objectives is still rare in the technical field. Given the importance of assessment, especially by using the 2013 curriculum which is required to use 21st century learning strategies, one of which is Problem Based Learning (PBL). This article aims to explore whether performance assessment is suitable for use with PBL learning strategies especially in improving students' skills using systematic literature reviews. The results show that many countries have implemented performance assessment using the PBL approach. The fields that are the focus of the review in this article include improving the results of formative assessment, using the context of the problem to assess knowledge and skills and problem solving skills. Using a systematic literature review, this article aims to explore the extent of the current development of school mapping, to analyze the types of mapping tools used as school mapping tools, and to explore data and information presented in school mapping. The result, even though there are recommendations using the Problem Based Learning approach with performance assessment, the reviews in this article show a lack of practical application in general matters. This article provides an overview of opportunities for developing performance assessment using the PBL approach for vocational schools to improve students' skills. Keywords—strategy; performance assessment; problem based learning (PBL); skills

This article aims to examine the actions taken by the teacher to eliminate misconceptions in learning, the focus of which is to explore the actions taken by the teacher towards students either through learning media or learning models. Three strategies are used to identify the studies included in the review: (a) search for reference databases, (b) journal searches, and (c) prior research searches (i.e. review of reference lists from relevant literature reviews and relevant articles). The literature review was conducted to find methods developed to eliminate student misconceptions. The conclusion is that students' ability to understand concepts must be supported by learning media or learning methods so that misconceptions do not occur. Especially if the sub-subjects are required to do lab work. Then the practicum becomes mandatory, if not, students will experience difficulties in understanding, especially if it is only limited to the concepts described verbally. Keywords—misconception in learning; eliminating misconceptions; learning methods

This article discusses on the valid, practical and effective of an interactive learning media. This media is applied as a learning media for Basic Electrical Measurement Course for Vocational High School. The Adobe Flash CS6 is employed to design of media interactive features. The four-D model (Define, Design, Development and Disseminate) is employed in designing interactive learning media. The content of media is validated by media interactive experts. The results show that the content of interactive media learning materials is valid, practical and effective to increase the learning outcomes and it suitable for applying on the learning process. Keywords—interactive multimedia; adobe flash CS6; basic and electrical measurements

The smart city has become the need for more modern and advanced urban communities with technological support. The development of a smart city is related to the increase of E-Government services applied to various government institutions. The purpose of this research is to analyze maturity level and smart city readiness using ITIL framework. The research method used is maturity level measurement method using ITIL framework. This study chose the location of Manado city as one of the cities that implement smart city. The results of this study indicate that the smart city used is still a command center stationed in the city of Manado that can monitor the activity of every vehicle and various problems that cause congestion. Analysis maturity level shows that human resources, especially on the user is still low on the use of the smart city, many users who do not know and feel the impact and benefits of smart city applications. The results of this study indicate the need to increase the level of maturity both in terms of smart city applications, management, and quality of human resources. Keywords—smart city; e-governance; ITIL framework; marturity level; Manado

Construction work is one of the professions which has a high risk of accidents. Therefore, construction work has to be carried out properly in terms of occupational health and safety standards. The high rate of workplace accidents shows workers’ lack of understanding of occupational health and safety standards. The purpose of this research was to identify workers’ awareness especially construction workers regarding occupational health and safety standards. This research uses a qualitative approach, and the data is collected by interviewing 24 construction workers in Bandung, Indonesia. The result of this research indicates that not all of the workers understand the importance of occupational health and safety. Hence, they rarely wear protective clothing even for they own safety. Keywords—occupational health and safety; construction projects; work dangers; work incidents

The purpose of this study was to develop the competency based assessment model on job performance in the housekeeping department apprenticeship. It produced the design and the assessment tool also the draft of apprenticeship guidance book. This research used descriptive method with research and development approach. The development study was distributed into three tranches, i.e. the introduction study, the development and the validation test of model. The respondent is limited to the learners with hotel accommodation expertise, also the internal and external mentor. Data were collected from several interviews, observation, trial and validation judging by the expert. The data was analyzed according to the procedures and characteristics of the findings, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings showed that the development competency based assessment model on job performance in housekeeping department apprenticeship including the stages of preparation, process and result practices. First, we judged the work ability to prepare tools and material practices were judged. Second, we judged the work ability that suitable with job performance in housekeeping department. Finally, the display of the practice results that suitable with standard operating procedures of housekeeping department was judged. This study aims to express the attitude of students of Civil Engineering Program of Building Engineering Education Studies toward AEC. This research was conducted at Civil Engineering Department of State University of Padang with quantitative descriptive research type. Sampling technique used Total sampling. The research procedure was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 84 active students of Civil Engineering Department of Building Engineering Education Study Program. The results showed that the attitude of Civil Engineering students of Building Engineering Education Program to AEC was 77.6% or included in either category. The highest score of this research is on sub threat indicator, which means the average student feels the concern in facing AEC. But behind these concerns, students want to improve the quality of self to easily face the AEC. Keywords—AEC; threats; students; attitudes; challenges; opportunities

In Indonesia a huge number of students prefer enrolling in general high school (SMA) over vocational high school (SMK), yet the government want more students (70%) enrolled in vocational high school. This article was aimed at investigating the effects of student gross retention rate, quality of teachers, student self-efficacy and condition of infrastructure on schools’ quality status. Factor analysis was used to determine the influence of each factor on the quality of the school. Data was extracted from Indonesia Center for Education Data and Statistics (MoEC). The research population was made up of 13236 vocational schools. A purposive sample of 34 provincial clusters was deliberately selected. It was found that, there was an association between the quality of a school and state of the school infrastructure. Students self-efficacy had a strong influence on students’ high school enrollment decisions. The government should increase the infrastructure budget for the vocational schools (SMKs), help schools to mobilize capital development funds as well as help fight negative publicity affecting vocational schools. Keywords—quality vocational school; TVET; quality infrastructure
