Classroom management is an important factor in creating a fun learning process. Each process of learning has to get attention and preparation so that the whole series of learning activities organized to improve student competence. Total quality management (TQM) is a management system that demands to manage quality in every process. In the industrial sector, TQM in is used to manage each process in a series of quality product results. If in the learning process, TQM can be applied as an effort to create graduates with high competence. In this study, an analysis of handout characteristics before applying TQM is applied. Standard teaching materials both theory and practicum applied is planned based on the indicator of learning achievement that would be obtained. Furthermore, the process of preparing the teaching materials should also be followed by the analysis of teaching materials, so that when the remedial students get additional material to be able to complete each sub subject of the course. This research uses research and development method with field study and observation. The result of the development of teaching materials both practicum and theory is needed as an effort to update the study in pursuit of the achievement of the competence of graduates. Keywords—total quality management; handout characteristic; ototronic; student competency; teaching process

The entrepreneurship communication skills in the business group are still a problem that must be solved in order to form communication effectively. The ineffectiveness of communication can be seen from the open group vision and mission, the reciprocal relationship between one member and another member, including the communication skills used by the group leader itself and influenced by adult education based on culture (ethno-andragogy). To find out the entrepreneurship communication skills in the business group from an ethnoandragogical point of view in Desa Penyaring, Kecamatan Moyo Utara, the researchers used a critical ethnographic research methodology that emphasized the in-depth interviews, observation, documentation and using audiovisual. The results of the study concluded that (1) the effectiveness of entrepreneurship communication skills built in the business group, namely the language used and the communication style; (2) the criteria for entrepreneurship communication skills in the business group, namely careful acceptance by members of the content of the message delivered; (3) the elements of entrepreneurship communication skills in the business group, namely interpersonal and intrapersonal through trust, openness, and elements of deliberation; and (4) the factors that influence entrepreneurship skills in the business group, namely personal and situational

This study aims to analyze the knowledge and attitudes of students towards the implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) base on SKKNI TIK.FO01.005.01 in the practice of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Network Installation. The informants in this study were class XI students in 2017/2018 academic year at Telecommunication Access Network Technique Study Program, Vocational XYZ Vocational High School in Bandung. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Comprehension test, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation were used as the data collection techniques. The results of the study Showed that: (1) OSH in FTTH Network Installation practice has not been fully implemented a, (2) in general, students have had a knowledge of OSH, but Reviews their understanding is still low for Several aspects items, namely: general OSH, personal protective equipment (PPE) and OSH in the environment, and (3) positive attitudes were shown by students in the process of fiber optic cable connection and network measurements. Meanwhile, awareness of occupational safety is still low, they were not maintaining the workplace cleanliness and not yet wearing gloves during practice. — F acing the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0), Indonesia must be prepared to make major changes to the national manufacturing sector. For this reason, new approaches and abilities are needed in building innovative and sustainable production systems especially for vocational education. The type of research used is quantitative, using quantitative and mean descriptive analysis. The results showed: 1) requires that the practical Instructor must have experience working in the industry; 2) plan instructor development to have knowledge, skills, attitude in accordance with the demands of work and technology; 3) upgrade machinery and practical equipment; 4) cooperate with related industries in planning, implementing and evaluating student products; 5) evaluate and improve student products continuously; 6) increase creativity and innovation of student products according to market demand; 7) produce marketable products and display it in school showrooms; 8) increase the time and quality of industry work practices in the industry; 9) cooperating with industry in conducting quality control of student products; and 10) sell student products.

Occupational health and safety, especially in construction projects in recent months, is a concern for many parties. This is due to the construction projects that are spread throughout the region almost simultaneously. The construction project certainly has a big risk if it is not carried out in accordance with the rules that have been set and agreed upon together. Not a few work accidents caused by negligence of workers in the field, planning, and natural factors. One of them was written by Kompas.com in 2018 entitled eleven cases of accidents occurred in six months. This research was carried out by direct observation to building construction projects. Record information and document worker behavior related to occupational safety and health in construction projects. The results of the study found that before starting work, every worker was given training on construction methods, the risk of accidents, and also personal protective equipment that must always be used while working. Another finding in the field that some workers do not want to use personal protective equipment is only for reasons that they cannot work freely even though they understand the risks. Keywords— safety; health; productivity

This paper aims at describing the current status of Technical and Vocational Education Trainings (TVET) in the Buffalo Metropolitan Region by highlighting the stark contrast between teacher competencies and school performance in vocational high schools and high schools. The case study area is the Buffalo Metropolitan Region, Erie County, New York. There are 16 vocational and 41 high schools, making the proportion of vocational high schools is 30% of the total high schools available in the study area. All vocational high schools are located in the inner city of Buffalo, which is infamous for its concentrated poverty, segregated city, and declining urban quality. Efforts have been made to leverage the quality of vocational schools and their graduates in the city of Buffalo by improving teacher competencies (technical and didactical competencies). This study utilizes independent T-test, comparing the means of several variables of interest between vocational and regular high schools. The result of the comparison of means using independent sample t-test highlights the stark contrast of teacher competencies between the two types of high schools. There are statistically significant differences between them in the variable of the percentage of teachers with no valid certificates, out of certification, and no appropriate certificates. In addition, there is also a significant difference in the school performance measured by graduation rate, more specifically the percentage of graduates attaining Regent diploma with advanced design (New York State standards) and local diploma. These results are related to the fact that there is a significant difference in student enrolment between vocational and regular high schools. Vocational high schools’ students are disproportionately poor (economically disadvantaged) indicated by receiving free lunch (FRL), a higher percentage of Black and Hispanic, with more students with limited English proficiency (LEP). In conclusion, despite the current efforts to improve vocational high schools, concerted efforts needed to leverage TVET teacher competencies to improve vocational high school graduates’ quality, and remedy the inequity between the two types of high schools in Buffalo. Keywords—vocational high schools; teacher technical competencies; teacher certification; high school graduates quality; independent sample T-test

Implementation of teachers’ performance improvement in learning process is highly dependent on the ability of principals to manage all processes and activities related to the realization of duties and responsibilities of teachers. This study aims to analyze and synthesize a number of correlational studies that examine the relationship between principal managerial skills with teacher performance. This study uses meta-analysis techniques. Meta-analysis conducted on 13 studies about the managerial skills of principals and teacher performance. Results of this meta-analysis strengthens the evidence of the 13 studies that the managerial skills of principal has a positive relationship with teacher performance.
