The method used is Research and Development which is focused on development. Cognitive instruments were compiled and carried out content validity from 4 experts for Sociology, Education and Law which were then tested on 93 students through a questionnaire in the form of google form. Analysis of the data used is by using software iteman 4.3. The results of this study are cognitive instruments with 15 HOTS questions in the form of multiple choice using content validity with Aiken's count obtained a score of 0.75 to 0.9375 so it is included in the medium and high categories. The instrument has an Alpha score of 0.558 so it is included in the reliable category. For items that have a difficulty level of 0.637, it means that the difficulty of the questions is moderate and the positive discriminatory power with a number of 0.243 is in the medium category. Then the distractor on the answer choices in the question items can function well because most of them are 0.05.

The COVID-19 pandemic has revolutionized the field of education. Online learning is the right solution to replace in-person learning. Improvement and development of the online learning process are really needed to provide a meaningful learning experience for students. This study aimed to examine the implementation of online learning in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta/FIS UNY during the pandemic. The quantitative observational approach with a cross-sectional survey was employed with the qualitative method done in group discussions. The respondents were selected using proportional stratified random sampling on all study programs in FIS UNY. Data were collected through an online survey and limited interviews to investigate students’ and lecturers’ experiences of online learning more deeply. In FIS UNY, online learning was mostly conducted through online synchronous learning. Besides, online learning was done using a learning management system developed by the university (BeSmart). There were several factors that influenced the practice of online learning at the faculty, namely the availability of learning devices, speed and stability of internet connection, and conducive learning environment. As many as 25.6% of students had issues related to learning devices. Then, 66.9% of the students stated that they did not have a stable internet connection which caused problems during the learning process. At last, 62.79% of the students admitted that it was difficult to focus on the learning process because their learning environment was not conducive. Besides IT skills, students’ independence and learning motivation were the internal factors influencing the online learning process. Another issue related to online learning was the lack of responses and feedback from the lecturers on the activities done by the students.

The result of progress and development in several fields, such as science, technology, industry, and transportation, has led to pollution and deterioration of the ecosystem and the occurrence of disasters that threaten human life. Therefore, attention must be paid to the environment and work to protect it from pollution. Given the importance of the topic of environmental protection, we address in this study two important topics, firstly, protecting the environment from pollution in the human dimension. Secondly, the most important dangers of environmental pollution resulting from it, and mentioning the most important international agreements that were formulated to protect the environment. One of the most important findings that I have reached through going into this research paper is that protecting the environment from the dangers of pollution is a shared responsibility among all human societies, that ecosystems are interconnected with each other, and that disruption of these systems threatens the natural balance of the environment, which affects all organisms living, including humans. In addition to the fact that the environment and pollution are man-made due to development, activities, exploitation of natural resources, and depletion of the environment in a way that exceeds the capacity of the environment, which leads to the deterioration of the ecosystem, and therefore everyone is called to bear the responsibility of protecting and preserving the environment.
