Purpose: This research aims to analyze the effect of the ethnoscience-based course review horay learning model on the understanding of cultural meaning understanding and science process skills of students at the elementary school level. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study is quasi-experimental in nature, with a nonequivalent post-test only control group design. The sample of this study comprised 29 students in the experimental group and 28 students in the control group, making a total sample size of 57 participants. Data was collected using a test method consisting of 10 essay items to measure cultural meaning understanding, and a questionnaire consisting of 30 statements to assess science process skills. Inferential statistical analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis were the two methods used for data analysis. Findings: The research findings showed that the ethnoscience-based course review horay learning model had a significant effect on both cultural meaning understanding and science process skills, both simultaneously and partially. This was demonstrated by a significant difference in mean values and sig value<0.05 for both cultural meaning understanding and science process skills between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: The findings also suggested that science process skills were more strongly influenced by the ethnoscience-based course review horay model compared to the understanding of cultural meaning, which is indicated by the larger mean difference observed in the former. Therefore, it is recommended that the ethnoscience-based course review horay learning model be utilized as an innovative learning model to address the issue of low levels of both cultural meaning understanding and science process skills among elementary school students.

Purpose: With the development of China's economy, China's medical level is also rising. Medical staff is constantly working overtime due to heavy workload, which can lead to emotional exhaustion in the long run. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the level of emotional exhaustion of Chinese medical staff. Based on this question, this study used involuntary overtime (conformity/workload) of medical staff working in Chinese medical institutions as an independent variable, trying to explore which variables increased the level of emotional exhaustion of medical staff. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study also investigated the mediating effect of job stress and the moderated mediating role of the desire for control in Machiavellian leadership. To investigate these questions, this study surveyed 313 medical personnel working in Chinese medical institutions. Findings: The results showed that involuntary overtime (conformity/workload) had a positive effect on job stress. work stress had no significant effect on emotional exhaustion. Job stress has a positive effect on emotional exhaustion of Chinese medical staff. Conclusion: This study aimed to identify which variables increase the level of emotional exhaustion in healthcare workers and suggested how to reduce emotional exhaustion in health care workers based on the findings. Research Limitations/Implications: We conducted a cross-sectional study. In future research, to further clarify these results, longitudinal studies should be conducted around the time gap. Practical Implications: Due to the unique nature of medical work, medical staff generally have unhealthy living habits. The organization should therefore reasonably arrange overtime for medical staff and appropriately allocate their workload. Additionally, Organizations should focus on the work-family situation of medical staff, improve their work enthusiasm, and reduce the occurrence of job stress. Contribution to Literature: This research expends the research field of overtime work types and emotional exhaustion.

Background: Malaysia's palm oil exports may experience a steady increase due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Although the demand for palm oil is increasing, there is still a significant labor shortage in the plantation industry. As a result, the use of machinery has become a key component in Malaysia's oil palm plantation industries, particularly for in-field collection. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of a three-wheeler machine and BAIC as a harvesting mechanization in the oil palm estate. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study involved a time and motion study to make a comparison between the performance of a three-wheeler machine and BAIC. Findings: The trials proved that the total average productivity for three-wheeler machines and BAIC is 12.81 mt/day and 4.55 mt/day, respectively. Additionally, the average productivity for each harvester that uses a three-wheeler machine is 3.2 MT/day/harvester, while for BAIC it is 2.27 MT/day/harvester. The cost-effectiveness of a three-wheeler machine is MYR 7.28/mt/harvester, while for BAIC it is MYR 1.41/mt/harvester (MYR = Malaysian Ringgit). Conclusion: The use of a three-wheeler machine has been proven to increase the productivity of FFBs. Although using a three-wheeler machine requires more caution, it really makes the in-field collection process for labour much easier for the laborers, ultimately improving productivity rates and increasing laborers’ pay. Research Limitations: It is quite difficult to find an estate that still uses buffalo for in-field collection because most of the estates have switched to machinery. Practical Implications: This research can be used as a reference and guidelines to improve estate management and ensures the sustainability of the oil palm industry around the world. Contribution to Literature: The literature on BAIC will be expanded by this study, particularly in the area of oil palm plantations.

Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in the use of e-commerce as a shopping platform in Indonesia. This study aims to identify the factors that influences consumers’ intention to shop through e-commerce platforms. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study uses a survey method to collect data from online shoppers in the 11-24 age range. The research model includes shopping orientation as a mediating variable. The data analysis reveals that perceived enjoyment, social norms, social presence, and perceiver utility positively and significantly affect e-commerce shopping intention. The study also identifies the mediating role of shopping orientation. Finding: The results shows that shopping orientation fully mediates the relationship between perceived utility and e-commerce shopping intention. Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of perceived enjoyment, social norms, social presence, perceived utility, and shopping orientation in driving e-commerce shopping intention. To increase perceived utility, e-commerce managers should provide information that emphasizes the convenience of shopping through their platforms. Finally, what can be implied from this study's results is how managers can increase the shopping orientation of potential consumers. Research Limitation: The study’s sample is limited to consumers aged 11 to 24 years, where at that age, many people in Indonesia do not have good purchasing power. Future research should consider a more diverse sample. Additionally, the study only examines the full mediation of shopping orientation on the relationship between perceived utility and e-commerce shopping intention. Therefore, further research is recommended to examine whether shopping orientation is fully mediated in the relationship between perceived utility and e-commerce shopping intention.

Therefore, further research is recommended to examine whether shopping orientation is fully mediated in the relationship between perceived utility and e-commerce shopping intention.","PeriodicalId":38402,"journal":{"name":"Nurture","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44079058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Purpose: This study examines the impact of trade liberalization (TL) on female labor force participation (FLFP) during the trade regime period in Pakistan, using sectoral panel data of the manufacturing sector for the period of 1990-2005. Design/Methodology/Approach: We employed panel fixed effects (FEM) and Instrumental-variable (IV) regression models for empirical analysis. Findings: Our study reveals that trade liberalization and FLFP are associated. Trade liberalization increases FLFP in the manufacturing sector. The results of both measures of FLFP (i.e., the share of female employment, and female-to-male ratio) verify each other findings. Our findings are robust to the inclusion of various control variables. Furthermore, our IV analysis also confirms that liberalization has given rise to female employment in the manufacturing sector. Our policy implication is that the government should liberalize trade sectors that can help to enhance FLFP. Originality/Value: This study adds to the existing literature by exploring the association between TL and FLFP in the manufacturing sector of Pakistan by utilizing a better proxy of reductions in import tariffs for TL. The reduction of import tariffs is a policy-based measure that captures the pure impacts of trade policy as compared to outcome-based measures (i.e., trade ratios). We also consider the whole trade regime as a sample period (i.e., from 1990-2005) to examine the core impacts of the trade regime, as import tariffs drastically reduced during this period. Furthermore, we use two measures of FLFP for the analysis, i.e., the share of female employment, and the female-to-male ratio. Lastly, our use of sectoral panel data strengthens the empirical analysis.

Purpose: Extracurricular activities (ECA) are encouraged by education stakeholders in Vietnam to contribute to improving the English ability of Vietnamese people. At universities, ECA is organized quite a lot, but there is a lack of consultation from students. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the English and French majors’ preferred ECA for English learning. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study involved 151 students from two groups of students majoring in foreign languages, English and French. A questionnaire was used to gather the students’ perspectives on how to implement ECA for English language learning. Findings: The results showed that most students favored experiential travel to places where English is used frequently to help them improve their oral skills. However, the students were not interested in multi-day activities, mandatory-participation policies, individual activities, or online-organized events. Conclusion: The research results suggest ideas for organizing ECA for English learning for students majoring in French and English. Practical implications: The research team proposed a specific tourism simulation activity in this paper based on the results, which can be a useable source for further ECA for English learning organized in the context of higher education institutions in Vietnam and elsewhere. Limitations: This study focused on students majoring in foreign languages, so its applicability to non-foreign language-major students is limited. Further studies in this field should focus on gathering perspectives from non-foreign-language majors. Contribution to literature: The literature on ECA for English learning has not yet received adequate attention. Therefore, this study contributes to the relevant literature and suggests significant topics for future research.
