The article analyses 6-7 graders’ opinion about expression of children’s rights at school. The study has revealed that the right to education, the right to be health, the right to healthy and safe environment are viewed by 6-7 graders as the most important. These rights are of particular significance for teenagers’ education, comprehensive development and socialization. The least important right to the teenagers is the right to participate in activities of the educational institution. The study has shown that most of pupils still believe that their rights are violated at school often or even always. Pupils lack emotional and physical security when at school. Among other causes, children’s insecurity may also be related to school community members’ occasional non-compliance with duties, as has been noted by pupils

This study reviews the results from a three-year evaluation study of one local school district’s induction and mentoring program for beginning special education teachers in the United States. Data were collected for two years, with an intervention implemented in year three. Results indicate that through strategic and intentional support, the district improved how it supported this unique group of novice professionals. Designing induction and mentoring programs with the intent to maintain and foster the professional development of beginning teachers has implications for supporting the district’s intellectual capital in developing feelings of efficacy in teaching. Connecting induction and mentoring support with teacher preparation programs is discussed as a promising strategy to develop more systematic efforts in these areas. The essential skills for successful mentor teachers in support of learning focused relationships are identified.

One of the main reasons of emigration of young people is a lack of opportunities to realize their own potential, to state themselves as full valued individuals. In this aspect, problems of emigration appear in the areas of social work and socio-educational support. Problems of social or socio-educational support are discussed and presented not enough, concerning young job immigrants in theoretical and practical levels, as well. In the most cases the respondents have mentioned friendly and positive relationships with people of the same nationality and with people of different nationalities as well: together organized leisure activities, celebrations, holidays. Research data analysis shows that mostly job centres help immigrants to deal with job search and with consultations as well. On the other hand, it is obvious that young job immigrants are coming to other country to their relatives or friends who have emigrated earlier and have organized their living conditions quite well. Generalizing the research results the activities of a social worker or social pedagogue that are needed for young job emigrants during integration process in changed socio-cultural environment could be defined: it is support during adaptation period, support in the process of job search, legal, educational and health support, as well as organization of cultural activities for immigrants.

The article discusses the issues of inclusive approach. The approach is assumed to aim at ensuring self-fulfilment of every community member. Regarding children with disabilities, the notion of inclusive setting means the setting for rehabilitation, providing them with activities and maintaining their independent living. The major obstacle is inconsistence and indistinctiveness of how people understand any possible models of living of people with disabilities. The ambivalence is reasoned mostly by the difference of personal attitudes, and feelings and emotions of population towards people with disabilities. The article points out a sharp difference of the attitude towards a disabled person as a generalized notion and a mentally retarded person.

The article is based on the results of qualitative research on the importance of professional social support for the family that experienced divorce. The research participants were as follows: preschool children of N city attending social care day centre and parents (6 couples), who after undergoing the divorce had the need for social support provided by professional caseworkers. The research uses qualitative research method applied to survey with four persons that had undergone the divorce recently. The profession of an assistant teacher (AT) deserves due attention in terms of methodological, personnel, legislative and professional discourse. The position of AT was established in the Czech Republic already in 2005; however, research and scientific findings providing relevant practical data (in the form of general research studies) are still missing. The paper presentsa concept of a national research study performed in February – March 2015 and particular results focusing on the description of sociodemographic distributions and selected aspects of labour-law relationships (and their attributes) in terms of the function of AT. The paper also includes an interpretative view of the results by means of suggested practical measures in the area of operation, competences and especially legislation. The research study used a quantity-based approach to investigate the research phenomena. The data collection method was a questionnaire of an own design, which was – regarding the number of ATs in the Czech Republic – administered in an electronic form. The data were then classified, analysed and statistically tested. This is the first communication of an extensive research report. It describes the initial domain of sociodemographic characteristics and the first research – labour-law aspects: employment contract, type of employment, length of employment, amount of remuneration and related aspects.
