Analyze the published literature on fossils found in Colombia to measure the degree of collaboration and co-authorship networks. We found 1412 documents published by 1411 authors, of which 68% were published as articles, they also found that 60% of this literature has been disseminated in English. It was found that 47% (668 documents) were published collaboratively, while 53% (744 documents) were published individually. The collaboration began in the 1980s. A complete co-authorship network was found by three components that are represented by Bermudez, Hermann Dario; Honjo, S.; and Doubinger, Jeanne. The authors who have the highest centrality value or the highest recognition as a child can also be identified: Jaramillo Munoz, Carlos Alberto; Cadena Rueda, Edwin Alberto; Guerrero Diaz, Javier; and Villarroel, Carlos.

The main objective of the study is to design a proposal for training in data literacy, as a zero course, in which students receive basic or initial instruction in the identification, location, visualization and retrieval of data sets, arising in the context of open data and data science. The work is based on a review of the existing literature on data literacy and an analysis of data-based practices in the field of Higher Education. The study will provide a training proposal in data literacy that contemplates the digital and transversal competences that students must acquire, the learning objectives and contents, as well as the tasks, resources and tools that make this possible.

Writing in plain language means writing clearly. Present in several countries for decades, Plain Language is a social movement for the right of access to information and a writing technique for clear and effective communication. Using Simple Language to transmit information in a simple and objective way, facilitating understanding, brings very concrete benefits to the citizen and the public administration: it saves time and money, streamlines processes, increases productivity, strengthens confidence in the public sector and, mainly, increases citizen participation. A series of guidelines for writing and organizing information has been designed so that the reader can easily find what they are looking for, understand what they have found and use the information and the Archives can also contribute with their expertise. Plain Language came to the National Archives and Record Administration (NARA) as a reflection of the Plain Writ Act / 2010 and started to demand that federal government agencies have a clear communication with the public. The purpose of this article is to map NARA's actions in implementing the Plain Language policy in records. To achieve the proposed objective, a bibliographic search was carried out on the NARA website, complemented with literature on the subject. It was found that NARA carries out several actions within the archival policy related to Plain Language, for being an agency and for the position it occupies in the administrative structure, within the public information and government communication policy. The adoption of strategies for compliance with the law, the review of policies and guidelines for the adequacy of federal records, the development of tools to improve the quality of communications, are some examples of these actions. There is still no theoretical body on the forms and strategies of Plain Language in Public Archives, as it is a relatively new phenomenon. The results presented contribute to a vision of Plain Language practices that can be carried out within the scope of Public Archives and indicate how this theme can be applied by information professionals and governments.

Music is a social practice considered, in this research, as a relevant source of information, which can help the cognitive, cultural and professional formation of the subjects in the process of creating strategies and democratizing access to culture. Objective: this communication aimed to investigate whether conducting by Maestro Carlos Prazeres, in the show Cineconcerto da Orquestra Sinfonica da Bahia (OSBA), has propitiated the access and the appropriation of information that contributes to arousing the public’s taste for classical music and bring them closer to the Orquestra and identify the relevance of the librarian’s performance in intensifying the process of access and appropriation of information performed by the Maestro. Theoretical background: The theoretical and empirical reference were based on the conceptual aspects of cultural mediation, mediation of information and musical information. Methodology: As for the methodology, the research, in which the case study method was employed, is of a descriptive nature, and the investigation object was the OSBA. To collect the data, the following techniques were adopted: interview with Maestro Carlos Prazeres; application of a questionnaire with the audience of the Cineconcerto and direct observation of the relationship between the conductor and the audience. Results: After analyzing the data collected, we found that the conductor of Maestro Carlos Prazeres at the Cineconcerto is configured as a conscious action of cultural mediation that favors access to musical information and allows the public to appropriate information and cultural goods. Conclusion: We conclude that this is a favorable environment for the librarian to act as cultural and information mediator, which contributes to potentiate the actions developed by others cultural agents.

This article aims to investigate the main symptoms of informational anxiety in the students of Emancipa Popular Pre College Entrance Exam of Historic Center of Porto Alegre. The methodological trajectory took place through a basic research, mixed approach, type of descriptive research, in the form of a survey and data collection using a questionnaire, answered by 35 students. A brief profile of the students was drawn and it was found that 70% are female, 51% live with a total income of up to two minimum wages, around 82% attended only public schools, 70% do not have public or private libraries that can attend neighborhoods where they live and students are part of so-called generations Y and Z. It was found that forgetfulness, nervousness, feelings of guilt, insomnia, fears and anxiety are the main symptoms that students present due to the excess of information required or made available during the studies. This analysis allows us to conclude that economic and social factors present in the students context can facilitate the presence of informational anxiety in the students study routine and that some of them already present symptoms that may be due to this anxiety generated by excessive information.

The research aimed to determine who are the largest producers of scientific papers in Nursing at the country level and to identify the profile of readers in Mendeley, their origin, academic or professional qualification and field of study or work. The study used descriptive and statistical methods for bibliometric and altmetric analysis of 72,040 papers published in journals indexed in the field of Nursing on the Web of Science between 2008 and 2017. The papers were published by authors from 150 countries, of which 20 hold 90.5% of total output. The United States sign 46.03% of nursing papers, followed by Australia (9.25%), United Kingdom (7.52%), Brazil (7.52%) and Canada (5.29%). The countries with the great volume of readers in Mendeley are the United States (19.53%), the United Kingdom (16.83%), Spain (11.20%), Canada (9.31%) and Brazil (4.97%). The readers predominant academic status is that of students (61.2%), especially graduate students, followed by researchers (10.7%) and professors (6.2%). The majority of readers are from “Science and Technology: Life Sciences and Biomedicine” (56.2%). The research concludes that the countries that publish more Nursing papers are also the ones that have the biggest volume of readers in Mendeley. Keywords: Mendeley. Altmetrics. Nursing. The studies of female entrepreneurship seek to demonstrate the role of women in society in a space historically dominated by men. This article aimed to analyze the scientific production on female entrepreneurship in the interconnections with the Information Science area. The research is characterized as exploratory and took place through descriptive analysis carried out after mapping on the bases of LISTA, BRAPCI and SCIELO. There was a prevalence of 84% of empirical studies, with a qualitative approach of 61.5%. It is concluded that there are few researches in the area of ”‹”‹Information Science, but with a bias towards realization based on the social and organizational demands that are presented.

Presents research results that aims to analyze the work Quarto de Despejo: Diario de uma favelada by writer Carolina Maria de Jesus, in order to identify evidence of appropriation of information, empowerment and social protagonism. The methodology uses the qualitative approach and the exploratory research method. To collect the data, we opted for the documentary research technique. In order to evaluate fragments of Carolina's diary, Bardin's content analysis technique was used with the establishment of categories. From the data analyzed, it was found that Carolina's individual empowerment can be found in several passages of the diary, which lead to the reflection that the writer's example contributes to the learning of those who seek to mirror stories that portray reality and with them they can get help in finding solutions for everyday life. In this case, the writer had informational skills that led her to appropriate the information and empower herself in the pursuit of social protagonism. It is concluded that the appropriation of information shows that the subject does not need to be educated to be empowered with the information that will lead him / her to reach social protagonism in the community or in a school environment, as he / she can develop new ways to dialogue with the demands that arise in society.
