The investigation results of the radiation pattern as one of the important parameters of the phased array antenna are presented at the article. Practical results: obtaining skills in using MathCad and researching methods for improving the directional pattern in order to increase the accuracy of determining the goal. The paper presents an algorithm for calculating the radiation pattern of antenna arrays with four modules and a method for improving it. Software and mathematical results are available in the Internet for free, that allows anyone to do similar work to confirm the calculations and conclusions. The results could be used at students practice in technical universities while studying in specialties related to radio electronic engineering in courses connected with study of the design principles of antenna systems with an equidistant arrangement of elements. Publication could be recommended as methodical manual to students for homework solving or laboratory work using specialized MathCad software.

In this article, the authors carried out the topology of optimizing the axle shaft of the front drive axle URAL-4320 according to the minimum mass criterion. Calculations make it possible to reduce the mass of a part with suitable strength characteristics, while using new technological equipment, new tools and equipment for the production of this part. With the results obtained, the introduction of a new optimized part into production will not incur additional costs, but at the same time it will reduce the weight of the entire vehicle, which in turn will affect its cross-country ability, speed, and fuel consumption.

The article presents an innovative methodology for teaching the discipline «Engineering Graphics», aimed at increasing the level of preparedness of students of engineering specialties to perform drawings of parts of complex geometric shapes. Students experience the greatest difficulties when applying dimensions due to the fact that they do not have sufficient knowledge of the production technology of practical experience. The novelty of the technique lies in the application of some provisions of the section of geometry called «Graph Theory». Training maps have been developed that contain algorithms of actions for the stage of applying dimensions to drawings. Particular attention of students is drawn to the knowledge gained in the study of the section of descriptive geometry «Surfaces». As the experience of introducing the new methodology has shown, thanks to the algorithms that organize the sequence of actions of students when applying dimensions to drawings, it is possible not only to help students overcome difficulties in completing an educational task. In addition, since the «Graph Theory» has some elements of the game, it is possible to captivate students with the task. It would not be superfluous to quote the words of the French writer Anatole France (1844-1924): «Only by having fun, they learn.»
