Raul Ruiz has long been considered the most important among Chilean film directors. Central to his artistic biography was his childhood in the Chiloe archipelago and the exile in Paris during the Pinochet regime. He produced more than 100 films in both Chile and France and this article characterizes an archipelagic aesthetics comprised of the director's biography and his cinematic thought to analyze his representation of the sea in Les trois couronnes du matelot (1983). Following Gaston Bachelard's sense of the relationship of water to human dreams and subconscious desire, the article advances the argument that the sea in Ruiz's film provided him a spiritual connection to his Chilean homeland, despite the separation of exile.

THE THIRD WAY: Prepositional Adverbials in the Diachrony of Romance (Part One) 第三条路:浪漫主义历时性中的介词状语(上)

This paper analyzes the role of adverbials including a preposition and an adjective (PA pattern) in the diachrony of Romance, from Latin to present-day varieties. In view of present-day standardized Romance languages, PA -patterns (e. g., Sp. de seguro) appear to be lexicalized »adverbial locutions«. Empirical data show, however, that they are (i) productive and (ii) systematically used as alternatives to adverbial adjectives (e. g., Sp. viene seguro’s/he comes sure‘) and adverbs ending in-mente (e. g., Sp. viene seguramente’s/he surely comes‘), until the 17th century. Consequently, PA -patterns are likely to have systematically appeared as a third way of forming adverbials in terms of mainstream analyticity in the Latin-Romance transition. Regarding functional differentiation, PA -patterns display affinity to circumstantial modification, which secondarily favors the development of discourse functions. Two case studies provide a fine-graded diachronic analysis that checks seven claims formulated in the Introduction. The first case concerns Sp. fijo, a learned word borrowed from Classical Latin which undergoes colloquialization (> de fijo, a la fija, por fijo, etc .). The second deals with Fr . vrai, which belongs to the genuine oral tradition. The paper confirms the systematic role of the PA -pattern in the diachrony of Romance.

La riqueza del espanol en el ambito de las perifrasis verbales es de sobra conocida. Lo que a nuestro parecer queda pendiente es una explicacion convincente de las peculiaridades de cada una de ellas (a nivel semantico y discursivo). La presente contribucion se dedica a dos perifrasis verbales bastante similares formalmente: llegar + a + VINF y venir + a + VINF. Optando por una definicion 〉cognitivo-constructivista〈 concebimos la perifrasis verbal como una 〉macro-construccion〈 que auna tres 〉micro-construcciones〈, en las que el verbo en infinitivo (VINF) disfruta del mayor grado de variabilidad. Recurrimos a la nocion de »collostruction« propuesta por Stefanowitsch/Gries (2003) para mostrar que las dos macro-estructuras estan formandose a traves de los contextos de uso. Asi, partimos de la idea de que la formacion de la macro-construccion (llegar a VINF y venir a VINF) pasa por asociaciones favorecidas entre las micro-construcciones involucradas en el proceso (llegar/venir+a+VINF). Tras exponer las peculiaridades de los verbos llegar y venir, asi como su evolucion dentro de 〉sus〈 perifrasis, analizaremos cuales son los VINF que tienen mas afinidades con cada una de las variantes de las construcciones. Basandonos en analisis estadisticos (test Fisher Exact) de muestras representativas extraidas de los corpus EsTenTen11 y EUROPARL 7, presentaremos los VINF preferidos por cada una de las construcciones, antes de proponer un analisis discursivo con trasfondo dialogico (cf. Bres 2001); eso permitira destacar matices discursivos idoneos para llegar a + VINF y venir a + VINF. Esos matices permitiran explicar a su vez los efectos que surgen cada vez que aparece un VINF a primera vista 〉atipico〈 con una de las dos macro-construcciones. Asi veremos que venir a + VINF encaja con contextos argumentativos fundados y convincentes, mientras que la seleccion de llegar a + VINF senala una argumentacion menos fundada, que se podria rechazar mas facilmente.

Le fait que Hans Robert Jaus (1921–1997) a fait partie de la Waffen-SS pendant la deuxieme guerre mondiale a provoque depuis quelque temps de vives controverses. Dans ce qui suit seront analysees trois publications (de Jens Westemeier, Ottmar Ette et Frank-Rutger Hausmann, respectivement) qui critiquent severement l'ancien chef de l'ecole de Constance au point que leurs auteurs pensent devoir l'exclure, en fin de compte, de la republique des lettres. A cette fin, le present article examinera les trois etudes aussi bien au niveau de leurs methodes qu'au niveau de leur argumentation parfois plus polemique qu'analytique.

Dans ce qui suit seront analysees trois publications (de Jens Westemeier, Ottmar Ette et Frank-Rutger Hausmann, respectivement) qui critiquent severement l'ancien chef de l'ecole de Constance au point que leurs auteurs pensent devoir l'exclure, en fin de compte, de la republique des lettres. El tema del siguiente ensayo es la semantica del tiempo en tres novelas espanolas de la segunda mitad del siglo XX: El Jarama (1955) de Rafael Sanchez Ferlosio, La larga marcha (1996) de Rafael Chirbes y El jinete polaco (1991) de Antonio Munoz Molina. Se trata del modelado literario de la experiencia del tiempo. En un primer paso, se diferencian diversos conceptos del tiempo que se extendieron en la microhistoria espanola entre finales de la Guerra Civil y principios de los 90 (tiempo estancado, circular, lineal etc.). Mientras estos conceptos del tiempo se refieren a la realidad sociocultural de los receptores, se trata, en un segundo paso, de la problematizacion literaria de esta vision temporal. Las tres novelas no solo aclaran las relaciones que existen entre los conceptos temporales, sino tambien critican, relativizan y transforman algunos de ellos. Al analisis semantico se anade el estudio de la funcion de determinados procedimientos formales literarios.
