The study aims to shed light on the peculiarities of interpretations of Russian and Soviet culture traditions in Lu Yao’s story “Life” (1982), which became a classic of the Chinese literature of the xúngēn movement in the last third of the XX century. It is the first time that this work by the Chinese prose writer has become the subject of a separate study, in addition, the paper defines the range of works by Russian writers and artists whose traditions are reflected in the story, reveals the role of images and motifs of Russian art in its ideological and artistic singularity, which accounts for the scientific originality of the study. The artistic images of Russian and Soviet art direct references to which are contained in Lu Yao’s work served as the subject of comparative analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that Lu Yao uses a very wide context of Russian and Soviet culture, including novels by I. A. Goncharov, N. A. Ostrovsky, stories by Ch. T. Aitmatov, V. G. Rasputin, Soviet paintings, and demonstrates adherence to the principles of realistic aesthetics in the story “Life”. The images created by the Chinese author significantly complement the gallery of typological heroes of the Russian literature of the XIX-XX centuries (the hero of the time, the ideal female image, the wise old person), bringing new artistic interpretations in keeping with the Chinese national cultural and historical tradition.

The aim of the study is to identify the dialect vocabulary of the Crimean Tatar language that reflects the peculiarities of the national worldview. Performing a communicative function, the language conveys the linguistic worldview of a certain people. The names of everyday realia collected and preserved as a result of daily living activities, observations and experience of many generations of ancestors are recorded, stored and transmitted to descendants in dialects, in the collective consciousness of the ethnic group in general and its sub-ethnic components in particular. This is especially evident with respect to everyday dialect vocabulary, which is represented in the dialects of the Crimean Tatar language by several independent groups. The comparison of dialect vocabulary makes it possible to describe the worldview specifics of subethnic groups of Crimean Tatars, to show the originality of the ways of its borrowing and development. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the identification of the strata of dialect everyday vocabulary reflecting the linguistic worldview of the Crimean Tatars. It is the first time that the analysis has been carried out through the lens of the distinctness or similarity of the components of this lexico-semantic group in different dialects. As a result of the study, the presence of independent strata of everyday vocabulary in the dialects of the Crimean Tatar language has been revealed. At the same time, the scope of notions conveyed by the nomens denoting everyday realia in different dialects virtually coincides.

The author’s attitude, vision in a dramatic work is manifested mainly in the auxiliary text represented by stage directions that possess great potential. In women’s playwriting, the author’s inclusions reflect the atmosphere of the action showing the personality traits of the female playwright in the space of the work. The paper examines the “author’s” voice in L. Petrushevskaya’s playwriting, which is a model expressing the attitude of the female author to the depicted reality. The aim of the study is to determine the features of the linguistic means representing the “author’s” voice in L. Petrushevskaya’s dramatic discourse. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying the potential for the active expression of the author’s position in women’s playwriting (lexical richness of stage directions, certain syntactic features). The results of the study showed that the stage directions representing the author’s zone in L. Petrushevskaya’s playwriting are personality-oriented, possess the author’s intonation, reflect the peculiarities of a female playwright’s writing style; they manifest the subjectivity of the author, her attitude to the characters, to events, etc.

The aim of the study is to identify the nation-specific and gender-specific prosodic markers of the state of anger involving the material of the cultural and communicative interaction models of the Russian and Kabardian ethnic groups of the Caucasian Mineral Waters region. The scientific novelty lies in applying a multifactorial methodology for analysing the regional type of communication taking into account the emotional-expressive content, gender and social differentiation for further creation of an adaptive quantitative-statistical learning model. It is the first time that Praat 5.3.32 is used as a tool for selecting relevant elements of an adaptive model for analysing emotionally marked communication. As a result of the study, the researchers proved that gender characteristics and the national type of communication influence the following indicators: the intensity of the beginning of an emotionally marked phrase, the main stressed syllable, the end of the phrase, tonal range, register, the ratio between the levels of the beginning of the phrase, the first stressed syllable and the end of the phrase, the volume of the interval of the rising and lowering tone, intensity coefficient, the intensity of the nuclear and stressed syllables, the ratio of syllables in order, variance, standard deviation and average syllabic intensity.

The study aims to identify the humorous means of Internet memes that reflect the socio-political moods of German residents. In the course of the study, topical political humorous German-language Internet memes were selected and an analysis of the verbal and visual means reflecting the (linguo-)creative potential of Internet users when creating a humorous effect was carried out. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that it represents the first attempt to conduct such an analysis. As a result, it has been proved that Internet users employ original visual and verbal components based on humorous means to create political memes. It has been found that the visual component, as well as puns, coinage of new words or expressions based on the names of leading politicians are the main manifestations of (linguistic) creativity. It has been noted that a political Internet meme is a socio-cultural phenomenon that reflects the socio-political sentiments of a certain society and is understandable only to those who are familiar with the socio-political realities and culture of this society.

The level of awareness of the linguistic presentation of a cognitive construct consisting of the PATRIOTISM concept and a concept scenario with integrated conceptual features of the named concept serves as the subject of the study. The aim of the study is to determine the correctness of the linguistic presentation of the cognitive construct in accordance with its attribution to one of the developed levels of awareness of the linguistic presentation of the cognitive construct. The study is novel in that it is the first to propose a methodology for assessing the levels of awareness of the linguistic presentation of a cognitive construct excluding the subjectivity of researchers in interpreting the results obtained from the student respondents. In addition, the correlation dependence of the correctness of the language presentation between the concept and the concept-scenario is established. To do so, the correlation analysis method is used. The obtained results show that using the correlation analysis method makes it possible to distinguish the following levels of awareness: the level of zero awareness; the level of low awareness; the level of average awareness; the level of high awareness and the level of full awareness. The processed students’ responses to two tasks during the survey (n = 80) produced the following results reflecting the correctness of the linguistic presentation of the cognitive construct in accordance with the correlation dependence: out of 80 students, 31.25% answered according to the level of zero concept awareness; 68.75% demonstrated the low level of concept awareness. The remaining levels of concept awareness have not been identified.

The aim of the study is to describe various groups of negative words in the German language and the features of their functioning in text tonality analysis in the framework of automated natural language processing (NLP). Scientific analysis focuses on the ability of negative words to modify polar words and expressions, i.e., to change their connotation within an utterance. The study is novel in that it is the first to present in a systematic manner the syntactic-morphological relationship between certain groups of linguistic units of negation and polar words, which must be taken into account in NLP when carrying out sentiment analysis of German texts based on lexico-grammatical rules. As a result, all German language means of negation were divided into groups depending on the extent of their impact on the polar words in the sentence: tonality modification for only the adjoining polar element or the ability to interact with the parts of an utterance that are located at a distance of several tokens. For automatic tonality analysis of German texts, it is necessary to mark the morphological and syntactic features reflecting the peculiarities of both the selected groups of negation words and polar words and expressions at the stage of feature extraction.

The paper considers the professional attitudes of a firefighter’s linguistic personality using the example of the image of a firefighter in the children’s tale “The Cheerful Firefighter” by I. V. Zartayskaya. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that professional attitudes in the structure of a firefighter’s linguistic personality have not been examined before: the paper is the first to discover that the linguistic model of a firefighter realises itself in stereotypes associated with the notions of “seriousness” and “bravery” and to outline the features of a professional’s speech activity corresponding to these categories. At the same time, a literary text was used for the study, while the linguistic personality of a firefighter was investigated previously only within the framework of business communication. Hence, the paper aims to identify the professional attitudes of a firefighter in speech interaction. As a result, the examination of a firefighter’s image in I. V. Zartayskaya’s children’s tale “The Cheerful Firefighter” led to the discovery of professional attitudes associated with the notions of “seriousness” and “bravery”, which exclude speech behaviour in the form of teasing, performing humourous songs, joking, smiling, etc., as well as imply the use of speech means and techniques that determine the successful resolution of an extreme situation, e.g., empathic listening, contact-establishing dialogue, calm tone of voice, etc. Thus, the speech characteristics of the protagonist presented in the work reflect the professional attitudes of a firefighter’s linguistic personality correlating with the categories of “seriousness” (the speech behaviour of a “person in uniform” does not allow for the expression of entertainment, comedy and demonstration of wit, since the SERIOUSNESS concept denotes a moral criterion the measure of which is a sense of proportion and the absence of any playful forms of speech behaviour) and “bravery” (the speech activity of a firefighter is determined by the ability to correctly interpret information and resolve conflicts in an emergency situation, use speech support tactics, as well as voice skills and clear sound pronunciation).

The aim of the study is to identify the features of strong character signs from the perspective of the semiotic weakening law (using the Chinese character “sun” as an example). The Chinese character system is a heterogeneous system with different types of signs (strong, weakened and weak signs). To figure out the place and role of a strong sign in this system and to describe its basic features, the paper provides the description of different character categories in compliance with their stages of semiotic weakening. The analysis showed that pictograms and simple indicatives belong to the strong signs, idiographic, transfer and loan characters belong to the weakened signs, while phonosemantic compound characters belong to the weak signs. The work is novel in that it describes both the basic features of strong character signs and the process of semiotic weakening from the perspective of evolutionary and hierarchic relations. As a result, the study revealed that strong characters lose grammatical independence and retain their semantic meaning. It was also concluded that the more strong signs become a part of the writing system, the more they weaken and become conventional.

The paper is devoted to the study of the place and role of women and female saints in various Sufi circles; in particular, the researchers discuss the Naqshbandi and the Bektashi orders. The aim of the study is to reveal the peculiarities of the coverage of the female theme in the Arabic-language work “The guidance of mentors from the Shaikh of the Khalidi [branch]” by the Tatar shaikh Muhammad-Zakir Kamalov (al-Chistavi) of the Naqshbandi tariqa, which operated on the territory of the Volga-Ural region. In comparative terms, the study also considers other Sufi communities belonging to different tariqas. The study is novel in that it is the first to analyse important aspects in the ethics of the Sufi communities of the XIX century operating in the Volga region, which were reflected in M.-Z. Kamalov’s writing, on the basis of a textual work carried out within the framework of the stated topic. In addition, based on the results and conclusions of the study, the authors identify the specifics of ethical standards of behaviour, gender relations in the ritual practice of the Sufi fraternities operating in the Volga-Ural region and the Caucasus. The results of a scientific study of the Arabic-language work “Tabsirat al-murshidin…” by M.-Z. Kamalov, the handwritten marcia-elegy “Mursiye damella Mohammad-Zakir…” by an unknown author directly echo the established traditions regarding the place and role of women in society that have developed over the centuries in the Muslim East.

In comparative terms, the study also considers other Sufi communities belonging to different tariqas. The study is novel in that it is the first to analyse important aspects in the ethics of the Sufi communities of the XIX century operating in the Volga region, which were reflected in M.-Z. Kamalov’s writing, on the basis of a textual work carried out within the framework of the stated topic. In addition, based on the results and conclusions of the study, the authors identify the specifics of ethical standards of behaviour, gender relations in the ritual practice of the Sufi fraternities operating in the Volga-Ural region and the Caucasus. The results of a scientific study of the Arabic-language work “Tabsirat al-murshidin…” by M.-Z. Kamalov, the handwritten marcia-elegy “Mursiye damella Mohammad-Zakir…” by an unknown author directly echo the established traditions regarding the place and role of women in society that have developed over the centuries in the Muslim East.","PeriodicalId":43335,"journal":{"name":"Theoretical and Practical Issues of Journalism","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135425063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
