The abstract exposes the essence of the concept of Active Listening and Conflict. It is given reasons why the Active Listening as a communicative technique is important in conflict prevention. A general model of Active Listening with a mixed set of tactics and techniques is identified. Active Listening can be divided into verbal (questioning, clarification, reflection, summarization, paraphrasing and empathy) and non-verbal (gestures and mimics, eye contact, posture, showing your interest to the speaker) signs of listening. According to the results of observation this technique helps to control emotional side of the conversation and encourages the speaker to continue the conversation instead of acting aggressively.

The article reveals the concept of conceptual mapping in the process of learning a foreign language. It is stated that a concept map is a diagram that shows the relationships between notions. Such maps are graphical tools for organizing and presenting knowledge. It is emphasized that the most useful form of a concept map for teaching and learning is one that is placed in a hierarchical organization, where more general and comprehensive notions are at the top of the map and more specific at the bottom. The difference between concert cards and mind maps is given. It is emphasized that despite a similarity of mind maps and concept maps, these two methods differ in many respects, in particular, concept maps are characterized by clear links between the described ideas and are more structured than mind maps, as a formally approximate description, which places ideas in some sequence and organizes them hierarchically by levels of importance.

The study clarifies the semantic and pragmatic potential of the axiological power of the English adjective: the psychology of its perception in the process of learning English as a foreign language. The purpose of this scientific research is to demonstrate the axiological load and special semantic and pragmatic nature of the English adjective for the developing of understanding of the feasibility of using adjective forms in communicative activities of the students. As a result of the study, we come to the conclusion that the English adjective forms a qualitative layer of reality, which is considered to be the "fourth spatial dimension of the world", given the trends of globalization. The adjective has a kind of verbalization, pragmatic value and participates in the formation and development of linguistic consciousness, which is manifested in the conceptualization of axiology, represents a set of evaluative, qualitative, cultural and ideological characteristics that are reflected in the special interaction of different means of linguistic expression.

The manuscript presents a summary of the results of the linguistic semantics study of Covid-19 related quarantine. Research conducted on a sample of Russian speaking Ukrainians. Found content and structure of the respective discursive field. Described features of inter-discourse connections. Established that the actualization of some discourses is accompanied by the deactivation of others, what makes quarantine semantics biased. Also, it was suggested that some of the discourses are indirectly positively associated and form the semantic core of the quarantine concept.

In the abstract the incentive is interpreted both as a psycholinguistic concept and a linguistic universal category; the components of the linguistic model and the functional structure of the incentive act are defined. The bidirection of the act of volition is emphasized. The volition (incentive) is identified as a kind of mental, speech activity, as a set of certain actions conditioned and motivated by the inner state of the speaker. The incentive action is aimed at meeting the communicators’ needs and takes into account their interests. The example of vocative utterances shows how and under what conditions in specific communicative situations they are able to express an incentive modality. Linguistic means of enhancing the emotionally-expressive colouring of vocative utterances of incentive modality determined by the tasks of speech action are considered. It is established that the focus on the positive result of the incentive foresees the obligatory accounting of distinguished or assumed background knowledge, the usage of the single sign system for encoding and decoding information, conventions, communicative situation, etc.

The abstract proves the need for a comprehensive approach to psycholinguistic research of modern Ukrainian non-institutional military discourse. Formed by a combination of different types of discourses modern Ukrainian non-institutional military discourse needs a special methodological tool for its analysis. The success of the research task significantly depends on the correct choice of methods. The emphasis on the psychological features of the speaker, i.e. the inclusion of a wide range of factors: psychological, mental, pragmatic etc. in the linguistic personality analysis requires the combination of psychoanalytic interpretation as a scientific method of psychoanalysis and discursive psychology.

A great bulk of research in the psycholinguistic literature has been dedicated to hemispheric organization of words. An overwhelming evidence suggests that the left hemisphere is primarily responsible for lexical processing. However, non-words, which look similar to real words but lack meaningful associations, is underrepresented in the laterality literature. This study investigated the lateralization of Turkish non-words. Fifty-three Turkish monolinguals performed a lexical decision task in a visual hemifield paradigm. An analysis of their response times revealed left-hemispheric dominance for non-words, adding further support to the literature. The accuracy of their answers, however, were comparable regardless of the field of presentation. The results were discussed in light of the psycholinguistic word processing views.

The theses reveal the problem of the connection between psychology and linguistics on the basis of translation activities. The role of the human factor of a translator is revealed, and the bonds between the type of translation and the characteristics of the person who does it is established For this purpose, a psycholinguistic experiment was carried out with the participation of 50 people to demonstrate the dependence of the psychological characteristics of the translator and the quality of the translated text using comparative analysis of translation. The data has confirmed the hypothesis about psychological phenomenon of translation.

The paper is focused on the issues of machine translation ethics. The goal of the present study is to discuss the role of neural machine translation tools from an ethical point of view and their impact on humans. Although traditionally ethics of translation is viewed in terms of sameness and difference, it is human translator who is a party to ethics of translation. It is discussed that translators should rely on technology as a helpful leverage in their job, since it allows them to be faster and more productive. On the other hand, we take an interest in examining the extent to which translation technology tools are given power. Neural machine translators can be unsupervised by humans, therefore viewed as a party to ethics of translation.

The abstract reveal the problem of acculturation by international students. There are four main types of acculturation strategies: assimilation, separation, marginalization and integration. We agree that the most successful is integration. It is well known, that the language and speech belong to the important part of the acculturation proses. The language skills can help or slack the acculturation of the international students to the new environment. That means that the langue skills make the adaptation easier and more comfortable and provide successful learning proses. On the other hand the acculturation can take much more time and affect their mental health. It is important for the universities to work out some acculturation programs in order to help and support their international students.
