Maize is a light-dependent crop, but new varieties have been developed that can tolerate shade. This allows farmers to grow maize as an intercrop between coconut trees, making more efficient use of their land. Farmers can also intercrop with legume plants, which provide additional nitrogen through Rhizobium bacteria, leading to increased maize productivity. The aim of this study was to obtain the best intercropping pattern for maize and soybeans under coconut trees that results high yields in maize. The study was conducted in Padang Pariaman Regency of West Sumatra, at an altitude of approximately 150 meters, from February to July 2022. The experimental design was a Split Plot Design with Randomized Block Design, consisting of three main plot levels (planting time) and four subplot levels (planting model). The results of the study indicate that intercropping maize and soybeans under coconut trees has no effect on the weight of maize cobs, but there is a positive correlation between ear weight, cob length, cob diameter, number of rows per cob, and the weight of 1000 maize seeds.

This research explores the semiotic dimensions of public space, specifically focusing on visual language in urban park design. The main aim of this research is to understand how visual elements in city parks can be interpreted as signs that create meaning in the context of public space. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results of this research reveal that urban park designs that utilize a semiotic approach in analyzing design elements can create spatial experiences that are rich in meaning for visitors. The use of local and traditional symbols, plants native to the region, as well as modern or innovative architectural elements provide an additional dimension that goes beyond the purely physical aspects. Design that accommodates community diversity, pays attention to functionality, and shows concern for environmental sustainability creates public spaces that are inclusive and relevant to community needs. Thus, a semiotic approach not only helps understand the meaning behind urban park design, but also becomes a valuable guide for designing open spaces that are more meaningful and closely connected to the values and cultural identity of local communities.

Previous research has discussed a lot about the effect of organizational justice on performance. However, there are still inconsistencies and substantial differences between constructions. For this reason, this research goals to determine the impact of organizational justice and teamwork on employee performance with intrinsic motivation as an intermediary variable. This research was conducted at an agrochemical company in Merak, Banten, with a total of 98 respondents. This type of research is explanatory research in which the relationship between variables is explained by testing the hypothesis. Data from the questionnaires collected were then analyzed using SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the analysis showed that (1) organizational justice has a positive and significant impact on performance, (2) teamwork has a positive and significant impact on performance, (3) intrinsic motivation has a positive and significant impact on performance, (4) organizational justice has no significant impact on intrinsic motivation, (5) teamwork has a positive and significant effect on intrinsic motivation, (6) intrinsic motivation positively and significantly mediates teamwork and performance, (7) intrinsic motivation does not significantly mediate organizational justice and performance. The results of this study can be implemented by organizations to focus more on developing variables that have a significant impact on employee performance.

Overcoming the substantial waste issue in Indonesia poses a significant challenge. The establishment of waste banks is identified as a potential solution, yet there needs to be more active community engagement in becoming waste bank patrons. Hence, this study aims to identify factors influencing individuals' behaviors in supporting waste bank empowerment. The research adopts the Theory of Planned Behavior, encompassing six variables: attitudes, subjective norms, knowledge, financial motives, intentions, and behavior. Questionnaires were distributed via social media for data collection, with 200 respondents selected through purposive sampling, primarily active students at the University in Solo Raya the analysis employed multiple linear analysis to assess the significance of the regression model, coefficient of determination, and the partial influence of each variable. Findings indicate that subjective norms and financial motives positively influence intentions, though not significantly. Conversely, attitude and knowledge variables significantly and positively impact intentions. Additionally, the intention variable demonstrates a significant positive effect on behavior supporting waste bank empowerment.

The aim of this research is to determine efforts to resolve street vendors' conflicts regarding the use of Sultan Ground in the Jalan Representative area. The method in this research uses a qualitative case study approach as a method to understand the significance of social problems. The data collection technique in this research uses primary data involving sources from the Yogyakarta City Land and Spatial Planning Service, the Kraton Panitikismo, the Yogyakarta Legal Aid Institute, the Representative Communication and Coordination Forum, and the DIY Land Care Forum for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, secondary data uses relevant research, documents, and mass media. The collected data is analyzed interactively with three stages of analysis, including: First, data reduction, namely collecting data. Second, data presentation, namely describing research data that has been successfully reduced. Third, drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the indicators for conflict de-escalation, conflict negotiation, conflict resolution, and conflict reconciliation are not going well because each indicator can be concluded not to have precise results and could even have the potential to give rise to further conflict. The absence of space for dialogue means that traders are not able to argue and try to reach an agreement that can be agreed to by both parties. Apart from that, there was no further dialogue from the government or producers with the traders after the relocation.

The data collection technique in this research uses primary data involving sources from the Yogyakarta City Land and Spatial Planning Service, the Kraton Panitikismo, the Yogyakarta Legal Aid Institute, the Representative Communication and Coordination Forum, and the DIY Land Care Forum for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia. Meanwhile, secondary data uses relevant research, documents, and mass media. The collected data is analyzed interactively with three stages of analysis, including: First, data reduction, namely collecting data. Second, data presentation, namely describing research data that has been successfully reduced. Third, drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the indicators for conflict de-escalation, conflict negotiation, conflict resolution, and conflict reconciliation are not going well because each indicator can be concluded not to have precise results and could even have the potential to give rise to further conflict. The absence of space for dialogue means that traders are not able to argue and try to reach an agreement that can be agreed to by both parties. Apart from that, there was no further dialogue from the government or producers with the traders after the relocation.","PeriodicalId":506437,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Society","volume":"57 25","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139533075","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
