Students’ Reflection Analysis in Portfolio – Based Learning 档案袋式学习中的学生反思分析

The article presents the results of students’ reflection questionnaire which was the evaluation of portfolio- based learning at Mykolas Romeris University used in the course of Legal English. A reflection page as a structural element of a portfolio was implemented in students’ assessment of the covered material their feedback and evaluation of learning achievements as well as the methods applied in Legal English classes. The paper also describes the advantages of writing reflection pages and students’ attitude towards this kind of method. The conclusion is drawn that writing reflection pages gives students the opportunity to present their point of view to what they are doing, how they are learning and how they would like to learn. Students find it useful to write comprehensive reflection pages to evaluate their studies. The results of the study show that writing reflection pages in a learning portfolio helps students to register their learning progress and improve their legal English.

Dimension of Liberal Education in the Studies at a Technological University 科技大学文科教育的维度研究

The paper discusses the dimension of liberal education in the studies at a technological university emphasizing two aspects: socializing of studies of technical sciences and education of a professional – generalist. Liberal education in the studies at a technological university is regarded as a possibility to educate a professional with such abilities as communication skills, critical thinking, understanding of social context, professional ethics, scientific interest in professional development and motivation for further education. On the basis of the analysis of scientific literature, the paper presents theoretical model of liberal education in the studies at a technological university.
本文论述了技术大学文科教育的维度,强调了两个方面:技术科学研究的社会化和通才教育。科技大学的通识教育被认为是培养具有沟通技巧、批判性思维、对社会环境的理解、职业道德、对专业发展的科学兴趣和继续教育动机等能力的专业人才的一种可能性。在科学文献分析的基础上,提出了工科大学文科教育的理论模型。

Legal English and Adapted Legal Texts 法律英语和改编法律文本

The article aims at analysing the significance of authentic legal English text and adapted legal texts in ESP classes. The authors point out the advantages and disadvantages of legal texts and analyse the possibilities of their efficient application in the teaching process. At the initial stage of teaching English legalese, materials prepared specially for teaching purposes in textbooks seem to be more appropriate as they are adapted for a particular level for law students whereas in more advanced levels, authentic texts in a legal English classroom can more considerably contribute to the learning experience. The usage of both legal authentic materials and adapted legal texts have tangible impact on mastering legal English.

Kompiuterijos naujažodžiai tinklaraštininkų kalboje

Straipsnyje analizuojami kompiuterijos naujažodžiai tinklarastininkų kalboje, tiriama, kaip realioje vartosenoje prigyja oficialiai teikiami naujadarai, kompiuterijos terminai, ypac svetimybių lietuviski atitikmenys, aprasomi kompiuterijos naujažodžių įtraukimo į tekstą būdai. Tiriamoji medžiaga – informacinių technologijų tematikos tinklarasciai. Sių tinklarascių analizė leido isryskinti tam tikrus kompiuterijos naujažodžių vartojimo polinkius. Pastebėta, kad nors tinklarascių autoriai gali laisvai pasirinkti rasymo būdą, jiems neprivalu laikytis bendrinės kalbos normų ir jų kalboje gausu nenorminės leksikos, taciau esama ir kalbinės savikontrolės. Pastebimas domėjimasis kompiuterijos terminijos naujovėmis bei polinkis į savo kalbą priimti kai kuriuos teikiamus naujus lietuviskus bei skolintus kompiuterijos terminus. Vartodami naujažodžius tinklarastininkai neretai pasitelkia isskirtine grafiką ir (arba) palydi komentarais. Grafiką tinklarastininkai dažniausiai renkasi isreiksdami abejone dėl svetimžodžio vartosenos tinkamumo. Siekiant skaitytojui paaiskinti naujo žodžio reiksme, kompiuterijos naujadarai dažniau pakomentuojami.

Integrating the Concept of Sustainable Development into English Language Curriculum of Environmental Engineering Sciences 将可持续发展理念融入环境工程专业英语课程

The article attempts to present and discuss practical implementation of the objectives of the project Sustainable Living Environment carried out at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU). The project is a response to a commonly articulated and acknowledged need to infuse sustainable development principles into traditional curricula of all levels of education to pursue goals of sustainable development. Thus, the present study aims to take an account of the increasing role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in a globalized world and define how the implimentation of the ESD objectives changes teaching/learning patterns at a university of technology. Moreover, it offers an interdisciplinary curriculum scheme for teaching/learning English as a second language for Environmental Engineering as an efficient means to integrate principles of sustainable development into language classroom.

SPORTUOJANČIŲJŲ STUDENTŲ KONFLIKTŲ YPATUMŲ TYRIMO REZULTATŲ ANALIZĖ

Almost always there is a certain degree of tension, irritation, and conflicts among athletes of various types of sports. The objective of the research is to evaluate conflicting behaviour of student wrestlers in the public safety faculties (PSF) at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). In the introduction of the research, conflict descriptions, types, criteria, solutions, and psychological climate factors as theorized by different authors are introduced. Survey data on student athletes is analyzed. In addition to this, psychological climate and predominant features among wrestling teams in higher education schools are assessed and emerging conflict types and solutions are determined. Finally, the differences in athletes and coaches‘ evaluation of psychological climate and indications are described.

Epistolinio žanro raida: studentų el. laiškai akademiniame diskurse

The article discusses the development of e-mails in the 21 st century in the context of epistolography (i.e. an epistolary genre): an ever increasing amount of e-mails covers both personal relationships and social, cultural and academic communication in the academic environment. The article aims to analyse the e-mails written in the spring semester by the fourth year undergraduate students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) and sent to the author of the article together with compulsory homework. The e-mails are analysed in terms of structural, functional and linguistic expression properties. The object of the research is 432 e-mails sent in 2010 by the fourth year undergraduate students of the VGTU Faculty of Environmental Engineering. The research results show that in terms of structure most e-mails either do not comply or only partially comply with the requirements of formal written communication. The functional analysis reveals that, in summary, students’ e-mails are distinguished by an extremely specific expression of the following functions characteristic to formal written communication: salutation or greeting, giving information and specifying, giving explanations and excuses, asking questions and negotiating, valediction and thanksgiving, signature and contacts.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos kai kurios Heideggerio meno filosofijos idėjos. Mąstytojas savo egzistencinės ontologijos kontekste kritikuoja estetiką ir tradicine meno teoriją. Meno kūrinys suprantamas kaip istorisko žmogaus pasaulio atvėrėjas. Filosofo požiūris į meno kūrinį susiejamas su jo emocijų teorija – „Befindlichkeit“ koncepcija. Teigiama, jog, integravus emocinius fenomenus į Heideggerio meno filosofiją, meno kūrinys pasirodo ir kaip komunikacijos vieta. Heideggerio meno samprata suartinama su estetika ir meno teorija.

Visual Communication: Computer Graphic Tools in Creating Logos 视觉传达:创建徽标的计算机图形工具

Straipsnyje pateikiama logotipo apibrėžtis, aprasomi logotipo atsiradimas, istorija ir reiksmė. Placiąja prasme logotipas yra originalus parasymas, visuma vaizdinių elementų ir įrasų. Žodis logotipas yra kiles is graikiskų žodžių „ logos “ – žodis ir „ typos “ – atspaudas. Logotipas skiriasi nuo žymos („ Ex libris “) ar prekės ženklo. Tinkamai sukurtam logotipui būdingi tam tikri požymiai: paprastumas; turi sudominti tiksline auditoriją; ilgaamžiskumas; pageidautinas vektorinis logotipo formatas; lengvai įsimenamas; turi pasižymėti originalia idėja ir formomis. Gerai apgalvotas ir sukurtas logotipas tampa firminio stiliaus pagrindu. Pats svarbiausias dalykas yra tai, kad logotipas atspindėtų kompanijos ar įstaigos veiklą. Norint įgyvendinti meninius ir kūrybinius logotipo sumanymus, reikia tinkamai taikyti kompiuterinės grafikos technologijas ir programine įrangą. Straipsnyje aptariamos kompiuterinių technologijų ir kūrybinių logotipo idėjų įgyvendinimo galimybės ir rezultatai.

Benjamin Constant: The Antinomies of Liberty and Popular Sovereignty 本杰明·康斯坦斯:自由与人民主权的二律背反

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos Benjamino Constanto (pranc. Constant de Rebecque Henri Benjamin, 1767–1830), sveicarų kilmės prancūzų mąstytojo, laikomo ne tik XIX a. prancūzų, bet ir Europos liberalizmo kūrėju, idėjos apie individą, jo laisve ir santykį su visuomene. Jo kūrybą būtų galima pavadinti konceptualiu sukilimu pries ankstyvųjų liberalų doktriną, kuri remiasi visuomenės sutarties idėja, tapatinancią valdžią ir laisve. Constanto nuomone, Didžioji Prancūzijos revoliucija įrodė tokio politinio mąstymo ribotumą ir pavojingumą pagrindinei liberalizmo sąvokai – laisvei, akivaizdžiai pademonstruodama, kad atstovavimo principai bei valdžių padalijimas gali virsti despotizmu ir tauta dėl saujelės issisokėlių gali netekti suvereniteto. Constantas, kūrybiskai perskaites antikinės visuomenės raidos ženklus ir atskleides kai kuriuos laisvės mitus, gebėjo ne tik islaisvinti ikirevoliucine liberalią mintį nuo antikinio tipo politiniam mąstymui būdingų elementų, bet ir suformuluoti pamokomas isvadas ateiciai. Sitaip jis peržengė XVIII a. protoliberalios minties ribas ir prisidėjo prie liberalizmo, kaip modernios politinės teorijos, kūrimo.
