We present a recursive procedure, which is based on the small time expansion of the propagator, in order to generate a semi-classical expansion of the textit{quantum action} for a quantum mechanical potential in arbitrary dimensions. In the method we use the spectral information emerges from the singularities of the propagator on the complex $t$ plane, which are handled by the $ive$ prescription and basic complex analysis. This feature allows for generalization to higher dimensions. We illustrate the procedure by providing simple examples in non-relativistic quantum mechanics.

TT¯/JT¯-deformed WZW models from Chern-Simons AdS3 gravity with mixed boundary conditions

In this work we consider AdS$_3$ gravitational theory with certain mixed boundary conditions at spatial infinity. Using the Chern-Simons formalism of AdS$_3$ gravity, we find that these boundary conditions lead to non-trivial boundary terms, which, in turn, produce exactly the spectrum of the $Tbar{T}/Jbar{T}$-deformed CFTs. We then follow the procedure for constructing asymptotic boundary dynamics of AdS$_3$ to derive the $Tbar{T}$-deformed WZW model from Chern-Simons gravity. Furthermore, by adding a $U(1)$ gauge field associated to the current $J$, we obtain one type of the $Jbar T$-deformed WZW model, and show that its action can be constructed from the gravity side. We also give some comments about reduction of the deformed WZW models to the deformed Liouville theories. These results provide a check on the correspondence between the $Tbar{T}/Jbar{T}$-deformed CFTs and the deformations of boundary conditions of AdS$_3$, the latter of which may be regarded as coordinate transformations.

We investigate the relations between bit thread, entanglement distillation and entanglement of purification in the holographic framework. Specifically, we give a bit thread interpretation for the one-shot entanglement distillation (OSED) tensor network, which can be understood as reconstructing the geometric structure of the bulk spacetime from the entanglement information of the boundary quantum system through the "surface growth scheme". Moreover, based on this, we naturally obtain the bit thread interpretation of the holographic entanglement of purification (EoP), which eliminates some inconsistencies in the existing interpretations.

Two-loop scalar kinks

At one loop, quantum kinks are described by a sum of quantum harmonic oscillator Hamiltonians, and the ground state is just the product of the oscillator ground states. Two-loop kink masses are only known in integrable and supersymmetric cases and two-loop states have never been found. We find the two-loop kink mass and explicitly construct the two-loop kink ground state in a scalar field theory with an arbitrary nonderivative potential. We use a coherent state operator which maps the vacuum sector to the kink sector, allowing all states to be treated with a single Hamiltonian which needs to be renormalized only once, eliminating the need for regulator matching conditions. Our calculation is greatly simplified by a recently introduced alternative to collective coordinates, in which the kink momentum is fixed perturbatively.

Information Transfer with a Gravitating Bath

Late-time dominance of entanglement islands plays a critical role in addressing the information paradox for black holes in AdS coupled to an asymptotic non-gravitational bath. A natural question is how this observation can be extended to gravitational systems. To gain insight into this question, we explore how this story is modified within the context of Karch-Randall braneworlds when we allow the asymptotic bath to couple to dynamical gravity. We find that because of the inability to separate degrees of freedom by spatial location when defining the radiation region, the entanglement entropy of radiation emitted into the bath is a time-independent constant, consistent with recent work on black hole information in asymptotically flat space. If we instead consider an entanglement entropy between two sectors of a specific division of the Hilbert space, we then find non-trivial time-dependence, with the Page time a monotonically decreasing function of the brane angle -- provided both branes are below a particular angle. However, the properties of the entropy depend discontinuously on this angle, which is the first example of such discontinuous behavior for an AdS brane in AdS space.

Recently, based on a new procedure to quantize the theory in the continuum, it was argued that Singer's theorem points towards the existence of a Yang-Mills ensemble. In the new approach, the gauge fields are mapped into an auxiliary field space used to separately fix the gauge on different sectors labeled by center vortices. In this work, we study this procedure in more detail. We provide examples of configurations belonging to sectors labeled by center vortices and discuss the existence of nonabelian degrees of freedom. Then, we discuss the importance of the mapping injectivity, and show that this property holds infinitesimally for typical configurations of the vortex-free sector and for the simplest example in the one-vortex sector. Finally, we show that these configurations are free from Gribov copies.

Dynamical Casimir effect in nonlinear vibrating cavities

Nonlinear terms in the equations of motion can induce secularly growing loop corrections to correlation functions. Recently such corrections were shown to affect the particle production by a nonuniformly moving ideal mirror. We extend this conclusion to the cases of ideal vibrating cavity and single semitransparent mirror. These models provide natural IR and UV scales and allow a more accurate study of the loop behavior. In both cases we confirm that two-loop correction to the Keldysh propagator quadratically grows with time. This growth indicates a breakdown of the semiclassical approximation and emphasizes that bulk nonlinearities in the dynamical Casimir effect cannot be neglected for large evolution times.

We consider a theory of $N$ self-interacting quantum scalar fields with quartic $O(N)$-symmetric potential, with a coupling constant $lambda$, in a generic curved spacetime. We analyze the renormalization process of the Semiclassical Einstein Equations at leading order in the $1/N$ expansion for different renormailzation schemes, namely: the traditional one that sets the geometry of the spacetime to be Minkowski at the renormalization point, and new schemes (originally proposed in [1,2]) which set the geometry to be that of a fixed de Sitter spacetime. In particular, we study the quantum backreaction for fields in de Sitter spacetimes with masses much smaller than the expansion rate $H$. We find that the scheme that uses the classical de Sitter background solution at the renormalization point, stands out as the most appropriate to study the quantum effects on de Sitter spacetimes. Adopting such scheme we obtain the backreaction is suppressed by $H^2/M_{pl}^2$ with no logarithmic enhancement factor of $ln{lambda}$, giving only a small screening of the classical cosmological constant due to the backreaction of such quantum fields. We point out the use of the new schemes can also be more appropriate than the traditional one to study quantum effects in other spacetimes relevant for cosmology.
