The paper is dedicated to the control of the balance of power and productivity of compressor units in the underground gas storages at high pressures of absorption and injection. The studies and calculations based on the motor-compressors of AJAX brand have been carried out, and major technical suggestions prepared to solve the task. The increase of productivity in the high pressure diapason while absorption pressure rises, leads to the relevant increase of consumed power, and in the case of lack of drive power, a control necessity occurs. The parameters of the compressors depending on the increase of injection pressure have been conducted, and the corresponding graphs developed as well. To control the balance of productivity and power of piston-type compressors, the ways of deactivation of absorption valves have been analyzed and the productivity decrease estimated. It is shown that compared to the mechanical and pneumatic control, hydraulic regulation provides higher productivity.

The composition of the light pyrolysis resin has been studied with the methods of gas-chromatographic and mass-spectrometry analysis. 70.24 % of aromatic, 8.53 % of saturated and 7.83 % of non-saturated hydrocarbons have been revealed in the sample. Aromatic hydrocarbons with high content percentage of the light pyrolysis resins have been rectified. The treatment of the oil-polymer resin into the varnish in the distillation residue has been researched. It was defined that the varnishes are stable against the reactions of the acids, salts, alkali, sea water and mineral oil, and do not have electrical conductivity. Moreover, it was also revealed that a varnish obtained with an aluminum complex catalyst on toluol is of higher quality than that of obtained via thermal treatment.

The gas-hydrodynamic modeling of the exploration process of a gas-condensate formation in the depletion mode based on the equations of the movement of gas-condensate mixture in formation and borehole is offered; on its basis, a calculation algorithm enabling to define bottomhole and formation pressure, as well as the technical-technological parameters of the reservoir production with known wellhead parameters are developed. Technological parameters of the process were estimated according to the data of a specific model.

The paper studies the regularities of the reaction of catalytic cycloalkylation of phenol with methyl-cyclohexane in the presence of ceolite-U saturated with ortho-phosporic acid. To obtain a target product with the maximum yield, the effect of input variables, i.e. reaction temperature, duration, mole ratio of the initial components, and the catalyst amount has been analyzed. Mathematic interpretation of the experimental data enabled to obtain individual dependences of the output parameter of each input factor in the form of an equation of the second order. The generalized equation of the dependence of the output parameter of the optimization simultaneously on the all input variables has been developed. The optimum conditions of the reaction of obtaining para- (methylcyclo-hexyl) of phenol have been specified.

The classification of the failures and the conditions of their occurrence in production experience of the existing repair and renewal operations is indicative, and should be specified. The more acceptable formal framework to solve such issues with the classification of attributes is the methods of automatic classification, or taxonomy. One of them is the “class” method, the structural content of which is of combinative nature. One of the most effective properties of this method enables to distinguish similar objects without the initial information on numerous objects, which are an assembly of quality aspects studied.

The sorption properties of the natural materials considered wastes – cane and straw, cotton wastes, were studied in the research surveys carried out. The oil capacity of each sorbent was studied both in the static and dynamic conditions. The fact that the oil capacity of the cane and straw in dynamic conditions was 1.5 and 2.5 times lower than in the static ones, correspondingly testifies that the sorbent need some time for oil uptake. The optimum period for the sorption of the straw was 5 days, for the cane – 15 days, and for the halm – 10 days. It was established that regardless the large sorption surface, the straw and cane showed lower result than the halm in the extraction of oil from the soil. Thus, these sorbents poorly mixed (bring into contact) with the oil compared to the halm. The extraction coefficient of the oil for the cotton wastes (husk) comprises 60.17 %, for straw and cane almost same values – 32.08 % and 31.34 % correspondingly.

The traditional methods applied currently for the analysis of data of well operation in some cases, when it is necessary to make a decision in conditions of uncertainty, do not provide targeted results, and become unacceptable. In this view, the research surveys towards the advancement of the methods of analysis of well operation, and the estimation of the reliability of the downhole pumping equipment is of great importance. The main issue in the well operation in the complicated conditions is the deterioration of the parameters of well operation, which, in its turn, impact the technical-economic indexes of the development in a whole. The operation of the pumps is affected by numerous geological, and both technical and technological aspects. The wide-scale targeted studies for the evaluation of the efficiency of using well stock, the reasons of failures of downhole pumping equipment, the composition, dimensions and properties of the mechanical impurities are necessary in such conditions. The application of smart-of-the-art statistical methods in the process of analysis of the dynamics of oil production enabled to suggest a technique of forecasting the further production indexes, as well as to give a sound estimation for the technological efficiency of using well stock.

Biostratigraphic characteristics of Sarmatian sediments in South-eastern Gobustan is presented according to the data of Shaigler-Gaibler section; the systematic composition and characteristic complexes of microfossils – foraminifers, ostracods, otolites and the fish remnants are defined. As a result of the biostratigraphic division of the section carried out, it was revealed that the sediments of Sarmatian stage participate in the geological structure of Shaigler-Gaibler anticline; there are no Upper Sarmatian sediments in the section. The scheme of division of Sarmatian sediments in Shaigler-Gaibler sections which may be applied for the further geological surveys in the other areas of South-eastern Gobustan, has been developed. The results obtained may be used for the biostratigraphic research of deeply buried Miocene sediments of Western edge of South Caspian.

To fully cover the data of the oil-gas bearing basins with giant fields, some parameters of them have been considered within the World Ocean; the materials used are justified with the results of up-to-date real and statistical and exploration surveys as well. According to the analysis of the surveys, it was revealed that the distribution of such fields in the territory of the oil-gas basins located in the same geographical space is genetically identical to the regularities of their distribution in the area of other basins not associated with each other. The South Caspian basin, where the great majority of the oil-gas resources of Azerbaijan are fixed, the thickness of the sedimentary cover, the volume of accumulated sedimentation complex, thermobaric conditions, the history of geotectonic development, the cover depth of oil-gas bearing horizons, geometrical dimensions of natural reserves, the capacity of the reserves, filtration characteristics of collectors etc. by their parameters hold a specific place among the oil-gas bearing basins of the World Ocean with the giant fields.
