More than six or seven million Ukrainians have been subjected to bombing and violence on their territory since February 2022, forcing them to leave their homes. This invasion has created Europe's biggest recent humanitarian crisis, claiming more victims’ day by day and causing widespread displacement in and out of the country. Europe has been on the warpath ever since, trying to avoid any escalation in the ongoing conflict and avoid the use of nuclear weapons. So what about the mental health of all these displaced people? What is the impact of such a large-scale situation on the movement of refugees in Europe? What psychological impact can it have on Ukrainian refugees (stress factor, mental illness)? What psychological impact can there be on the long-term hosts of the refugees? At present, we are not aware of any French or English articles already published on the medico-socio-psychological aspects linked to the problems of displacement of Ukrainian families and the reactions of the hosts over the long term. In this article, we will try to address the medico-socio-psychological issue of careers and the psychological impact of deported Ukrainian refugees.

Menopausal symptoms may affect every aspect of women's lives. There are no studies that examine the rate of menopausal women who seek acupuncture for their complaints, particularly muscle stiffness and aches, headaches, fatigue, and depression, which are indications for acupuncture, in Japan. The aim of this preliminary study was to explore the rate of Japanese women in menopause who sought acupuncture for the treatment of their general complaints, and to what extent acupuncture reduced their menopausal symptoms. 29 Japanese women, ages 40 to 59, received three individualized acupuncture treatments at 7 acupuncture clinics in Tokyo and surrounding suburbs. Menopausal symptoms were assessed by the Simple Menopause Index (SMI) which consisted of 10 symptoms from three categories: vasomotor, psychoneurological and musculoskeletal symptoms to determine if women were in menopause. Fifteen of 29 Japanese women had an SMI score greater than or equal to 26, suggesting that they were in menopause. Menopausal symptoms were reduced with individualized acupuncture treatments, exclusively due to improvement of musculoskeletal symptoms. Vasomotor and psychoneurological symptoms were not improved. These results suggest Japanese women in menopause seeking acupuncture may benefit from musculoskeletal symptom relief such as fatigue, chronic neck pain, and low back pain. Considering these results, acupuncturists may advise them to be evaluated by and inform gynecologists of their intention to use acupuncture to treat menopausal symptoms. Future studies focused on improvement of musculoskeletal symptoms and possibly vasomotor and psychoneurological symptoms with larger sample sizes are necessary.

We report the case of 31years old male patient, who as result of surgical extirpation of Gastrointestinal Stroma Tumor (GIST) in duodenum, a large number of different complication were present. The most patient life threatening one was inflammatory duodenal Pseudostenosis, because the patient was emaciated, western medicine did not offer an effective treatment. 10 acupuncture sessions were scheduled and both local points (segmental) and distal points was used. The patient had a very satisfactory evolution in the first 4 sessions, the normal GI peristalsis function appeared again, nausea, vomiting and the fullness sensation disappeared as well. So, Acupuncture could be part of the therapeutic arsenal as a complementary treatment in this type of patients.

The idea of organic farming is acquiring force step by step. The mindfulness towards organic produce merchandise is expanding. So both consumers and farmers are presently continuously moving back to organic farming in India. It is accepted by numerous that organic farming is better. However, the medical advantages of organic food are yet to be demonstrated, buyers will pay a higher expense for something very similar. Numerous farmers in India are shifting to organic farming because of the domestic and worldwide interest in organic food. Further rigid principles for non-organic food in European and US markets have prompted the dismissal of numerous Indian food transfers before. Organic farming, therefore, provides a better alternative to chemical farming. So an endeavor is made in this article to study the concept of organic farming, conventional farming, benefits, and issues of both organic and inorganic foods.

A balanced diet is indispensable to ensure that practitioners of physical activity reach their goals, be they in physical, aesthetic, or quality of life.10 With the premise that training strategies fundamentally depend on their practitioners’ dietary habits, understanding how nutrients work in the body becomes essential and a valuable aid to exercise programs developed in gyms.11 The current condition of society has inflicted on individuals an agitated way of life, making their subsistence precarious, and their dietary routines weakened. In this situation, some individuals practice strength training, often engage in most of their time with work or studies and often find it challenging to adapt their training to a food intake that sufficiently favors them achieving satisfactory results.7 However, there is a lack of understanding of what would be appropriate to consume, how and when to consume it, due to the lack of reliable information and adequate nutritional guidance.10 Also, many feel the influence of friends, physical educators, and others who are not qualified for nutritional guidance and, finally, start developing eating habits and adherence to unconventional diets.12 Not least, the desire to achieve their goals in a short period has led many strength training practitioners to use dietary supplements indiscriminately, as many advertisements are promising short-term profits.7,10

The technique of acupuncture frequently used in cases of neuropathy consists of inserting needles into classic acupuncture points along the affected nerve and may be associated with manual or electrical stimulation. This article aims to report the case of a 47-year-old male patient with chronic postoperative neuropathic pain difficult to control and refractory to treatment who responded positively with the use of electroacupuncture bordering the cicatricial region. He was previously submitted to conservative and interventional treatments with moderate results. He was admitted to our AcupunctureSector where three cycles of acupuncture were performed. Due to the return of intense pain, in the third cycle, electroacupuncture procedures with cutaneous-neural needlework were started margining the surgical scar. He presented progressive improvement and was discharged from the outpatient clinic with pain of mild intensity, remaining stable for the next eight months until the writing of this article, without regular use of pain medications. This case demonstrates anew possibility of successful treatment of neuropathic pain after traumatic injury, using cutaneous neural needlepoint and electroacupuncture, and should serve as an incentive for new clinical uses of the technique and conducting research that demonstrates and proves its efficacy.

Due to current pandemic of Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19), elderly people tend to show deterioration of physical and cognitive function and exacerbation of nutritional status, leading to the progression of sarcopenia and frailty. Recent topic includes the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology-Home Exercise Program for Older People (NCGG-HEPOP) 2020. It has six packs for health maintenance, such as balance improvement, strengthening, inactivity prevention, feeding/swallowing improvement, nutrition improvement and cognition. The pandemic may bring decreased social interaction, decreased physical activity, and increased physical stress of viral infection. NCGG-HEPOP will hopefully prevent such exacerbation in the light of geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine.

Introduction: Sleeplessness, i.e., getting <7hours sleep/night (L7H), causes significant health and financial problems for individuals and industry. Sleeplessness is classified into 4 categories: difficulty initiating sleep (DIS), difficulty maintaining sleep (DMS), early morning awakening (EMA), and nonrestorative sleep (NRS). This study surveyed individuals with sleeplessness who were taking a water-soluble product of cannabinol (CBN) treated using nano technology, which has recently become available. Methods: Individuals taking this product completed a self-evaluation survey prior to and after taking this product for at least 7days. The data was analyzed for changes in rate and severity of sleeplessness. Severity was assessed by the number of days/week for all categories except NRS, which had a symptom score with the range: -6 to +6. Significance was p < 0.001. Results: Sixty individuals returned the survey. For all sleep disorder categories, using this product significantly decreased incidence (L7S: 42% to 13%, DIS: 42% to 2%, DMS: 57% to 22%, EMA: 42% to 13%, NRS: 60% to 13%) and severity (L7S: 5.72+1.46 to 1.88 + 2.80, DIS: 4.77+2.12 to 0.38+1.27, DMS: 5.00+1.89 to 2.21+2.91, EMA: 4.96+1.82 to 1.7+2.76, NRS: -1.43+3.03 to 2.85+2.16). Thirteen individuals had an adverse side effect that resolved in all individuals after self-adjustment of the dose. Conclusions: This nano treated CBN product rapidly induced sleep initially and after awakening, increasing the time and quality of sleep in most individuals suffering from sleeplessness.

Severity was assessed by the number of days/week for all categories except NRS, which had a symptom score with the range: -6 to +6. Significance was p < 0.001. Results: Sixty individuals returned the survey. For all sleep disorder categories, using this product significantly decreased incidence (L7S: 42% to 13%, DIS: 42% to 2%, DMS: 57% to 22%, EMA: 42% to 13%, NRS: 60% to 13%) and severity (L7S: 5.72+1.46 to 1.88 + 2.80, DIS: 4.77+2.12 to 0.38+1.27, DMS: 5.00+1.89 to 2.21+2.91, EMA: 4.96+1.82 to 1.7+2.76, NRS: -1.43+3.03 to 2.85+2.16). Thirteen individuals had an adverse side effect that resolved in all individuals after self-adjustment of the dose. Conclusions: This nano treated CBN product rapidly induced sleep initially and after awakening, increasing the time and quality of sleep in most individuals suffering from sleeplessness.","PeriodicalId":92796,"journal":{"name":"International journal of complementary & alternative medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46918070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
