Imagology is concerned with how identity and image are gradually formed, spread, strengthened and even shaped in a specific social and historical space. Translation is one of the important means and carriers of image construction and shaping. As a classic work of Taoism, Tao Te Ching contains infinite images of China. The English version of Tao Te Ching, translated by Chinese Sinologist D. C. Lau, is among the top 10 best-sellers on Amazon in the United States and has been widely praised by readers. D. C. Lau’s English translation of Tao Te Ching introduced Chinese Taoism to the West, and at the same time constructed an objective and true image of ancient China. Taking the English version of Tao Te Ching translated by D. C. Lau as an example, this paper analyzes the construction of China’s image in the English translation of Chinese classics from the perspective of Imagology on the level of intrinsic textual analysis. It is found that D.C. Lau’s translation constructed objective and true China’s image. Through his translation, a relatively serious, solemn and orthodox Chinese image, the ancient Chinese people’s wise image, ancient Chinese image of filial piety and fraternal kindness as well as the image of eagerness of peace and pursuit of harmonious and equal relationship between countries were re-presented.

In response to the requirements for cultivating applied talents in civil engineering under the background of the new era, and addressing the practical problems existing in the teaching of the course on concrete structure design principles in higher education institutions, this paper conducts an analysis of the current situation and challenges of the course teaching. It focuses on issues such as the abstract difficulty of teaching content, the singularity of teaching methods, and the lack of practical teaching. Combining the characteristics of the course and the industry’s demand for talent capabilities, the paper explores and outlines reform measures, including optimizing course content, transforming the roles of teachers and students, and integrating theory with practice. The aim is to provide insights and inspiration for the teaching of related courses.

Small and medium-sized Internet education enterprises have faced financing difficulties and expensive financing due to their small size, low assets and lack of collateral. The development of the Internet, big data and sharing economy provides new ideas for small and medium-sized Internet education enterprises to alleviate financing difficulties. This paper combines the traditional financing model with the internet financing model to construct an open financing model for small and medium-sized internet education enterprises, which has the characteristics of multi-subject participation, openness, high efficiency, omni-directionality, resource integration, etc., and is able to effectively solve the information asymmetry, reduce the financing risk, and improve the efficiency of financing faced in the financing process. The conclusion of the study provides a reference for solving the financing constraints of small and medium-sized Internet education enterprises, which is conducive to promoting the growth of small and medium-sized Internet education enterprises.

As an international language, English is playing a more and more important role. To be able to use English proficiently is of great importance. Through surveys, it is found that there are still some problems in students’ English learning, which have seriously hindered students’ mastery of English. Based on the analysis and relevant research of the surveyed students’ examination results, and based on the learning theory of constructivism, Krashen’s language input theory and second language acquisition theory, and the Principle of Visualizability proposed by Czech educator J. A. Comenius, this paper proposes some corresponding strategies in opening up the second class of English and improving students’ English level.

The formulation and implementation of development plans for primary and secondary schools is an important task to ensure that schools can adapt to the constantly changing educational environment, provide high-quality education, and meet the needs of students. With the continuous promotion of education reform and the increasing demand for school development, the formulation and implementation of school development plans have become particularly crucial. This study explores the process of formulating and implementing development plans for primary and secondary schools. In addition, it will also explore the future trends and challenges faced by primary and secondary school planning, such as the future direction of educational policies and planning, the role of technology and innovation in planning, the challenges of social change and diversification, and sustainable development and environmental factors. The research aims to provide useful references and suggestions for planners and decision-makers in primary and secondary schools, in order to promote sustainable development of schools and improve educational quality.

With the continuous development of our country’s modernisation process and the continuous development of education, the education of design talents is getting more and more attention from people, the era of design as a “secondary subject” in schools has ended, modern people have recognised that the world of design is a world of infinite wonders, and that some design experience is an indispensable element for enriching people’s lives, and design is related to the deepest things in human nature. Design is closely related to the deepest part of human nature. As an important part of the design field, visual communication design is not only an education of design techniques as traditionally believed, but also a complex systematic project to develop wisdom. It is not possible to improve one’s design quality with only a little bit of technique. In addition to mastering design technique, we must also be familiar with the development history of design and its development prospect, have the ability to appreciate design and have insight into design, and fully explore one’s own visual thinking, so as to make one’s own design thinking more active. Visual thinking is a novel concept. This ability is inherent in us, and for designers of visual communication design, the cultivation of visual thinking should be richer and more diversified. But to engage in design through this ability requires special training.

The article presents the concept of ethical management of the educational process as a basis for forming the professional ethics of a personality. The main idea of the concept is to achieve organized and regulated ethical management of the educational system based on the finding or recreation of its value meaning as an imperative necessity for the functioning of ethical relationships within the holistic educational process.Finding or recreating the value meaning of the management of the educational process occurs in the course of realization the system of ethical values, represented as value meaning universals of ethical relationships created in this management. Thus, the value meaning of the ethical management of the educational process conditions the methodological basis for achieving such aims as: elaboration the technology for organizing and regulating ethical management of the educational process; forming the professional ethics of the manager of the educational institution; mastering the culture of moral value interaction with participants of the educational process. As a result of experimental work, general and particular patterns were identified in the formation of the professional ethics of future educational institution managers, manifested in their mastery of methods for organizing and regulating ethical management of the educational process.

The current study delved into examining the effectiveness of Audio-lingual Method (ALM) and Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in developing the English language grammar skills and language learning attitude of EFL intermediate Chinese learners. The study employed a quasi-experimental research design in the two groups of 60 Chinese EFL middle grades. The study uses a quasi-experimental research method for two groups of respondents. Findings showed that the ALM and CLT are effective in enhancing the English language grammar proficiency and language learning attitude among Chinese EFL intermediate learners. The gender gap in language learning favors female respondents to exhibit better performance. Consequently, the EFL learners exposed to the Communicative Language Teaching method showed better language learning grammar performance compared to those in the Audio-lingual Method. Language grammar learning attitude is not affected by gender, implying that both sexes were able to obtain the same level of benefits of the ALM and CLT. Finally, the study further concludes that language proficiency is not associated to attitude towards learning grammar of the two groups of respondents after their exposure to Audio-lingual method and Communicative Language Teaching implying that regardless of the learners’ attitude towards learning grammar they are capable of manifesting better performance in language learning with the use of ALM and CLT. The theoretical and practical implications of the study are presented and discussed.

This study is a critical analysis of Canadian policies on international students and these students’ experiences in Canada. The author has carefully reviewed the relevant literature and has reached a conclusion based on the literature that Canadian international education has developed significantly in the last half century with the annual arriving international students increasing substantially. This increase has served the interests of Canada well and most international students find their experiences of receiving Canadian education positive. They have become an important source of new immigrants. For good reasons Canada is considered one of the favourite destinations for international students. But when they attempt to integrate into the society and when they attempt to join the labour force, particularly in their studied field, there have been challenges. The author also discusses the implications of the Canadian policies on international students. In addition, the author offers a few recommendations on how to improve the policies and the experiences of international students in Canada, particularly for those who decide to remain here after the completion of their study.
