In the age of globalisation and increasing global disparity between the rich and poor, the world has seen the rise of a new and celebrated poverty-fighting strategy in the past decades. Microfinance banks provide financial services to poor entrepreneurs, most commonly small loans to help poor individuals start or grow small businesses. Previous studies on microfinance banks have majorly tilted towards its economic, sociological and psychological perspectives with insignificant attention paid to its religious importance. This research work is undertaken to examine the importance of religion to microfinance bank using Christian based microfinance banks as a model for the study. The work was intended to achieve the following objectives: to ascertain the extent to which microfinance bank has impacted the lives of the people that it is targeted towards which is the active poor and to determine the significance of religion to the operations of the bank. The study adopted Max Weber’s theory of religious economy, which hinges on the role of Christianity in the management of economic organisations. The basic research instruments used in this study were oral interview, participatory observation and the use of relevant literatures. The data was properly analysed and discussed. The study observes that microfinance bank has a religious influence based on operations or services on savings, deposit, loans and asset acquisitions. The research identifies the religious importance of the bank which is evident in manifestation of charity, premised on trust, biblical context of usury; it inculcates Christian teachings and inventiveness. However, the study identified some challenges with the bank in which some of the challenges are quite peculiar to the microfinance system of operation. These challenges include; limitation in scope, Central Bank directives, abuse, difficulty in monitoring and competition. Nevertheless, these have in no way reduced the efficiency of the bank in some areas. It is therefore evident that despite the challenges, microfinance bank has contributed immensely to national economic development and this has been achievable due to its religious importance. This work proves beyond measure that religion has not lost its relevance and it’s not only a spiritual reality but a social phenomenon. It is an important tool that helps various economic institutions in the society to function well. The study recommends more of religious teachings inculcated into microfinance banks in order to have a growing and sustainable microfinance industry and also brings to limelight the religious importance of microfinance bank which can serve as a spring board for further researches.

This study aims to test the transformational leadership and good government governance effect on civil servant (ASN) work motivation and their impact on South Aceh District Government Performance with the research object of echelon III and IV officials/functional officials in 18 Government departments of South Aceh District. The population in this study amounted to 336 people. The sample selection technique used is a proportionate stratified random sampling technique, which takes samples when the population has members/elements that are not homogeneous and proportionally stratified—at the same time, determining the number of pieces in this study using the Slovin formula to obtain a sample of 183 people. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires which were measured using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS, SEM-AMOS, and Sobel calculator. The result shows that transformational leadership, good government governance, ASN motivation, and South Aceh District Government Performance are good; Transformational leadership affects ASN motivation in the South Aceh District; Good government governance affects ASN motivation in South Aceh District; Transformational leadership affects South Aceh District Government Performance; Good government governance does not South Aceh District Government Performance; ASN motivation affects South Aceh District Government Performance; ASN motivation does not mediate the transformational leadership effect on government performance, and; ASN motivation does not mediate the good government governance effect on government performance. These findings explain that the model for increasing institutional performance in the South Aceh District is a function of strengthening transformational leadership and ASN motivation, while the good government governance variable can only have an impact on motivated ASN.

This study digs into the complex world of corporate governance, a crucial but sometimes ignored aspect of the overall performance of European organizations. Prior studies have mostly focused on the link between ownership structures and company performance, but they have frequently neglected to examine the instrumental mechanisms that serve as middlemen in this relationship. Via a thorough investigation of the complex interactions between ownership types and company performance and a comprehensive examination of the various governance approaches and their resulting effects on firm performance indicators, this paper aims to close this research gap. Our study's specific attention on Ownership concentration as a mediator variable, which illuminates its critical role in forming the complex interactions between corporate governance structures and firm performance outcomes, is a novel and important component. The results of this study in case it will be considered from practical perspective, it will have significant ramifications for the corporate environment in Europe. The study provides useful insights for both business leaders and policymakers by illuminating the complex relationship between ownership forms and firm performance. It promotes a more comprehensive approach to corporate governance and emphasizes the significance of governance activities that go beyond simple ownership. Particularly, the recognition of Ownership concentration as a mediating factor makes clear a crucial lever that businesses can deliberately employ to improve their governance frameworks and eventually boost performance. From a theoretical standpoint, this work advances our knowledge of the complex dynamics inside corporate governance, which adds to the body of previous material. It enhances the theoretical framework guiding corporate governance research by looking into the factors that mediate the ownership-performance link. Researchers' toolkits are expanded by the addition of ownership concentration as a mediator variable, allowing for a more thorough investigation of how governance structures affect company performance. Empirically, this study offers hard facts and insights gleaned from a careful examination of actual corporate data. It provides an invaluable resource for upcoming empirical studies of corporate governance in the

This conceptual study has looked at the intricate relationship between psychological safety and employee productivity, shedding light on the considerable impact that psychological safety has on organisational success. It is now acknowledged that psychological safety, which is defined as the notion that people can communicate their thoughts, concerns, fears, and mistakes without fear of reprisal or humiliation, is a fundamental cognitive state that influences how employees interact with their jobs. It encourages taking chances, working together, and being open with one another, which enhances creativity and problem-solving abilities and ultimately increases productivity.

This study examines a case study and impact of predicting early diabetes in United States through the application of Logistic Regression Model. After comparing the predictive ability of machine learning algorithm (Binomial Logistic Model) to diabetes, the important features that causes diabetes were also studied. We predict the test data based on the important variables and compute the prediction accuracy using the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve and Area Under Curve (AUC). From the correlation coefficient analysis, we can deduce that, out of the 16 PIE variables, only “Itching and Delayed healing” were statistically insignificant with the target variable (class) with a value of 83% and 33% respectively while “Alopecia and Gender/Sex” has a negative correlation with the target variable (class). In addition, the Lasso Regularization method was used to penalize our logistic regression model, and it was observed that the predictor variable “sudden_weight_loss” does not appear to be statistically significant in the model and the predictor variables “Polyuria and Polydipsa” contributed most to the prediction of Class "Positive" based on their parameter values and odd ratios. Since the confidence interval of our model falls between 93% and 99%, we are 95% confident that our AUC is accurate and thus, it indicates that our fitted model can predict diabetes status correctly.

In addition, the Lasso Regularization method was used to penalize our logistic regression model, and it was observed that the predictor variable “sudden_weight_loss” does not appear to be statistically significant in the model and the predictor variables “Polyuria and Polydipsa” contributed most to the prediction of Class \"Positive\" based on their parameter values and odd ratios. Since the confidence interval of our model falls between 93% and 99%, we are 95% confident that our AUC is accurate and thus, it indicates that our fitted model can predict diabetes status correctly.","PeriodicalId":14213,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Scientific and Management Research","volume":"214 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91454301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
