The development of Warsaw determined the spatial system of its suburban zone. The original cultural landscape of the area, composed of agricultural areas with enclaves of forests and settlement clusters, is subject to continuous changes which intensified after the political transformation in 1989. Consecutive stages of such changes can be traced through the analysis of the Michałowice commune neighbouring to Warsaw. From the mid 19 th century, suburban residential districts were built there, followed by model residential districts called “garden cities” (Komorów and Michałowi-ce). The area of the commune is subject to strong urbanisation pressure. This contributes to changes in its cultural landscape and quality of residency in the area.

Undeveloped, neglected and then abandoned post-industrial areas often located in a short distance from city centers have become, on one hand a major problem for city stewards due to the formation of dead urban tissue disturbing the continuity and cohesion of urbanized areas, on the other hand are spaces with high potential for a good location. The article aims to formulate, from the architectural and urban perspective, an answer to the important question arising in this context: what activities are carried out to recover and properly manage post-industrial spaces?

The therapeutic properties of landscapes are a phenomenon that is difficult to measure objectively. Designing health-affirming places for an anonymous user requires a departure from the traditional approach based on designers’ subjective, authoritarian perception of beauty towards EvidenceBased Design (EBD). This paper presents a qualitative study of a section of Gdynia city center around the new city park. The universal pattern of health-affirming places was used in the study. This tool does not eliminate issues associated with the subjectivity of perception of landscape therapeutic properties, but it helps to organize the assessment process and use available scientific evidence.

The spatial planning law system in Poland does not ensure spatial order and sustainable development in communes. There is no consistency between the government, voivodeship and local government policies. The legal instruments existing in the present system do not fulfill the role assumed by the legislator. As a result, buildings in the municipalities of the suburban area are mostly in the form of administrative decisions, in addition to the local law, causing the phenomenon of uncontrolled suburbanisation. The article presents statistical data illustrating the state of spatial planning in the communes of the suburban area of Białystok in the scope of local plans, decisions on building and land development conditions and building permits. Conclusions from the analysis of the collected materials confirm the phenomenon of the development of communes of the suburban area of Białystok in an unplanned manner, lasting for over a dozen years.

The article is devoted to the problem of the current state of sports complexes of a network of universities in Ukraine. A brief theoretical review of the problem is given. The current trends in physical education are considered. An analysis is made of the compliance of the current state of sports complexes of Odessa universities with the requirements of the educational process and motivational capacity. The analysis of the correspondence of the volume of existing sports spaces with the existing regulatory acts is carried out. Based on the analysis, the directions of further development and improvement of sports complexes of Ukrainian universities are proposed.

In the near future, these solutions are likely to serve as attractors to draw people to these places and to cause an increase in programme diversity, as well as to lead to the activation of commercial streets and thus improve their chances of survival.

The set of stained-glass windows that had been designed and manufactured for the Kreuzkirche, which is now the Church of Our Lady the Queen of the Crown of Poland in Szczecin, by PuhlWagner-Heinersdorff, a leading German company, is a unique example of the use of modern 1930s visual arts in religious art. A considerable part of the stained-glass window manufacturer's archival documentation is currently stored at the Berlinische Galerie in Berlin, where fifteen original stained-glass window design cartons intended for the Kreuzkirche in Szczecin were found. The objective of this text is to determine the author of the glasswork of the stained-glass windows in the church in Szczecin.

The article deals with the features of the architectural and urban organization of the health care system and the network of medical and preventive institutions of Germany and Great Britain of state and private levels of subordination. The levels of health care delivery and their share in the overall provision of medical services to the population of the countries are examined. The total number of treatment and prevention facilities across countries is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to determining in German and English health care systems the location of a network of child care facilities.

Researchers and architects responsible for the design of Martian habitats currently direct their attention towards unconventional construction materials, such as water-ice. In this article, a method of architectural forming based on safe radiation levels, insolation and radiation simulations (OLTARIS) is proposed. The suggested methodology allows for a delineation of the design guidelines in a graphical form legible for the architect designing an ice habitat.

It is established that existing national art centres are located in integrated premises and need improvement.
