Effects of Project-Based Learning with Project Guide E-book on Critical Thinking and Metacognitive Skills: A Case from Undergraduate Biology Students in Genetic 1 Course 项目指导电子书项目式学习对批判性思维和元认知技能的影响——以生物学本科生遗传学1课程为例

Critical thinking skills bears a fundamental role in students’ thinking process and achievement. Meanwhile, the cornerstone of critical thinking is a metacognitive activity that has a substantial function in measuring and evaluating the obtained information, as well as learning from the experience. This study aims to examine students’ critical thinking and metacognitive skills before and after they participate in the PBL classroom using a project guide e-book for the genetic one course. The student’s critical thinking skills were assessed using written tests using open-ended question items. Further, the obtained scores were analyzed using paired t-test. The data analysis suggested an increase in students’ metacognitive and critical thinking skills after they attended the PBL class using the PBL-based project guide e-book for genetic 1. This increase was shown from the 0.000< α (α = 0,05) significance score of paired t-test. Thus, the PBL-based project guide e-book for the genetic 1 course is capable of enhancing students’ metacognitive and critical thinking skills.

The Effectiveness of using Android Based Chemical Ludo Game Media Reduction and Oxidation Reaction Material on Students Learning Outcomes 基于Android的化学Ludo游戏介质还原氧化反应材料对学生学习效果的影响

This research follow up research development of Educational Design Research with Plomp model that has been done the validity and practicality test but hasn’t been tested effectiveness using the android based chemical ludo game media for reduction and oxidation reactions material on student learning outcomes for class X SMA/MA. This aims for reveal the level effectiveness using the android based chemical ludo game media on reduction and oxidation reaction material to learning outcomes of class X SMA/MA.The design used was pretest-posttest control group design with random sample group. The sample of research were class X MIPA 4 with 34 students and X MIPA 3 with 34 students at SMAN Binaan Khusus. The research instrument is instrument test and questionnaires. The data using analyzed with N-Gain test and hypothesis test (t-test). N-Gain the experimental class was 0.79 with high category and the control class was 0.47 with medium category. The hypothesis testing which was carried out with the t-test with tcount (7.84527) > ttable (1.668) at the real level α = 0.05. So the android based chemical ludo game media material for reduction and oxidation reactions effective in increasing learning outcomes for students significantly in the cognitive domain class X SMA/MA.

The Effect of the 5E Learning Cycle Model on the Critical Thinking Skills of Junior High School Students in Learning Science 5E学习周期模型对初中生科学学习批判性思维能力的影响

Critical thinking skills are very important to be acquired by the students in the 21st century. In science learning, students are required to think critically. However, students’ critical thinking skills at the junior high school level are included in the low category. The 5E learning cycle model is the learning model that is considered can train the student's critical thinking skills optimally. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the 5E learning cycle model on junior high school students' critical thinking skills in science learning and to describe the improvement of junior high school students’ critical thinking skills. This type of research is experimental research with a quasi-experimental design and nonequivalent (pretest and posttest) control-group design. The results of the study for the effect test using the independent sample t-test obtained the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.016 which means <0.05. The implication is that the 5E learning cycle model has a significant effect on the thinking skills of junior high school students in learning science. For the improvement test using N-Gain, an average N-Gain of 0.5875 was obtained which was included in the moderate category, then the results of the paired sample t-test obtained a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 which means <0.05. The conclusion was the 5E learning cycle model has a significant effect on junior high school students’ critical thinking skills  in science learning and it can improve junior high school students' critical thinking skills in the moderate category.

Eksperimen Fisika Sederhana yang dapat Membelajarkan Konsep Interferensi Cahaya 一个简单的物理实验,可以把光的干扰的概念对齐

Adanya keterbatasan alat laboratorium sehingga praktikum terkendala dan jarang dilakukan di sekolah. Padahal praktikum bertujuan untuk memahamkan konsep fisika kepada siswa. Saat praktikum tidak perlu peralatan yang mahal, dan rumit, tetapi dapat menggunakan peralatan yang sederhana agar siswa dapat melakukan praktikum dirumah. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi  eksperimen fisika sederhana yang dapat mengajarkan konsep interferensi cahaya. Eksperimen paling sederhana didapatkan dengan membandingkan beberapa eksperimen dan memilih alat bahan yang paking mudah ditemukan. Penelitian ini memggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan mencari teori-teori yang berkaitan dengan topik yang diangkat. Regerensi yang di peroleh dijadikan sebagai dasar dan alat analisis data. Ada 6 percobaan dan alat yang paling sederhana terdapat pada percobaan ke 6 yaitu percobaan interferensi celah ganda. Interferensi celah ganda sederhana merupakan percobaan yang paling mudah diantara 6 percobaan lainnya karena alat dan bahan yang diperlukan mudah ditemukan disekitar kita. Para penliti menggunakan alat-alat sederhana yang ditemukan di sekitar, seperti styrofoam,bola lampu, kertas mika berwarna, kayu, dan lem. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat melakukan percobaan tanpa keterbatasan peralatan untuk memperdalam konsep fisika interferensi.

Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen, dengan design Randomized Subjects Posttest Only Control Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling, yang kemudian diperoleh kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 dan kelas kontrol yaitu kelas XI IPA 2. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terhadap kedua kelas sampel didapat bahwa dari hasil analisis data dengan uji-t diperoleh hasil thitung > ttabel (2,820 > 1,996) dan Sig. > 0,05, yaitu 0,115 > 0,05 dengan (df 67) n-2 maka keputusan yang diambil adalah Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa “ Terdapat Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu”. Pembalajaran Blended learning menjadi salah satu solusi pembelajaran di masa pandemi Covid-19. Blended learning adalah pencampuran antara pembelajaran online dan offline dalam satu aktivitas pembelajaran yang terintegrasi. Dalam blended learning terdapat hasil belajar dan masalah pembelajaran. untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan blended learning dan hasil belajar siswa pada masa pandemi covid-19 maka dilakukan sebuah penelitian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendiskripsikan pelaksanaan Blended Learning di masa pandemi Covid-19 di SMA NW Mataram. jenis penelitian yang di gunakan adalah pendekatan  kualitatif  dengan jenis  penelitian deskriptif yang menggambarkan pelaksanaan blended learning di SMA NW Mataram. Hasil  penelitian  ini  adalah  pelaksanaan blended learning  dilaksanakan dengan 3 tahap yakni perencanaan, proses serta evaluasi. Pada tahap perencanaan guru biologi SMA NW Mataram menyiapakan perangakat pembelajaran yaitu silabus, RPP dan LKPD. Proses blended learning dilaksanakan dengan pembelajaran online dan offline, evaluasi blended learning di lakukan melalui  tes mandiri yaitu penilain kompetisi secara mandiri dan tes oleh guru tes ini berupa  UTS dan UAS. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Pelaksanaan blended learning terlaksana sesuai dengan langkah-langkhnya akan tetapi hasilnya belum memuaskan dan permasalahan yang di hadapi sebagai bahan evaluasi untuk pelaksanaan blended learning selanjutnya.

Tanaman kayu jawa Lannea Coromandelica merupakan tanaman yang banyak dimafaatkan sebagai tanaman obat tradisional. Tanaman kayu jawa Lannea Coromandelica diketahui memiliki kandungan senyawa metabolot sekunder berupa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gugus fungsi dari senyawa metabolit sekunder ekstrak daun kayu jawa Lannea coromandelica. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu dengan mengekstraksi daun kayu jawa Lannea coromandelica menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% kemudian identifikasi gugus fungsi senyawa metabolit sekuder menggunakan alat instrumentasi FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared). Hasil Identifikasi dengan FTIR menunjukkan serapan pada bilangan gelombang (cm-1): 3424.39, 2919.45, 2850.72, 1626.59, 1561.39, 1441.97, 1377.81, 1232.30, 1100.41 terdapat gugus –O-H, gugus karbonil C-O, cincin C=C aromatis, dan rentangan dua gugus C-H dan C-N yang mengidentifikasi adanya senyawa alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid dan tanin yang diketahui sebagai senyawa metabolit sekunder dari daun kayu jawa Lannea coromandelica

Eksplorasi Etnomatematika pada Tari Kretek Kudus

Matematika dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit, implementasi dalam kehidupan sehari – hari berbeda dengan yang diajarkan di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya penanaman pembelajaran matematika dengan dikaitkannya pada kebudayaan mulai dari usia dini, supaya pembelajaran matematika menjadi lebih mudah dan dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari – hari. Etnomatematika merupakan suatu kajian mengaitkan matematika pada kebudayaan, salah satunya adalah Tari kretek. Tari Kretek merupakan budaya yang dapat dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran matematika. Etnomatematika memiliki tujuan untuk meminimalisir hilangnya kebudayaan pada zaman modern yang serba menggunakan teknologi dan dapat membantu memudahkan siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengeksplor aktivitas matematika yang terdapat pada gerakan Tari Kretek. Tari Kretek ialah tarian yang menggambarkan aktivitas ekonomi warga asli Kudus. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif pendekatan etnografi guna mendeskripsikan budaya secara keseluruhan dari semua aspek budaya yang diteliti. Teknik wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi sebagai teknik untuk pengumpulan data. Setelah dilakukan eksplorasi pada Tari Kretek menunjukkan bahwa mengandung nilai matematika di dalamnya, diantaranya geometri sudut pada 12 gerakan tari kretek, geometri dua dimensi pada pola lantai yang digunakan serta aktivitas menghitung pada ketukan setiap gerakan. Dengan adanya eksplorasi tari kretek ini diharapkan dapat membantu siswa untuk belajar lebih mudah dan menyenangkan, melestarikan kebudayaan di lingkungan sekitar serta dapat diimplementasikan oleh siswa dalam kehidupan sehari – hari.

Implementation of Online Think Pairs Share (OTPS) Model to Improve Student Learning Outcome 实施在线思维对共享(OTPS)模式以提高学生学习成果

This study was an online classroom action research (PTK) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to improve learning outcomes in calculus classes for physics engineering students using think pairs share. The online think pairs share (OTPS) learning model was optimized using the Learning Management System (LMS) platform in two learning cycles. The research sample was 46 students in the study program of physics engineering. The data were obtained from the pre-test-post-test scores, group discussions, and individual presentations. The results showed that the pre-test and post-test scores in cycle I were 37.16 and 68.41, while in cycle II, 41.20 and 68.65, respectively. In addition, the daily student score from the group discussion and individual presentation was 60.68 for the cycle I and 60.15 for cycle II. Furthermore, inferential analysis using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test proves that tcount > ttable. Hence, the result indicated that implementing the OTPS learning model optimized using LMS could improve the student learning outcomes in calculus.

Analysis of Science Literacy Ability of Junior High School Students with the NOSLiT Method of South Konawe Regency 用南科威县NOSLiT方法分析初中生科学素养能力

Scientific literacy is seen not only as an important component of science education, but also as an ethical/moral competency. Science education plays an important role in creating responsible citizens, in this case scientific literacy is needed in making social-scientific decisions. Currently the concept of scientific literacy is a learning goal in the educational curriculum in various countries. Scientific literacy emphasizes students to analyze, predict, and apply scientific concepts in everyday life. Likewise with students in South Konawe district for the junior high school level, the majority of whose scientific literacy results are classified as lacking. Therefore, this research focuses on the Analysis of Science Literacy Ability of Junior High School Students Using the Nature of Science Literacy Test (NOSLiT) Method in Konawe Selatan Regency. The research method used in this research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The sampling technique in this study used a simple random sampling technique. The result is that the scientific literacy skills of SMPN Konawe Selatan students based on the NOSLiT instrument in class IX are still in the low category while those in class VII and class VIII are classified as very low. This can be seen from the acquisition of the overall average NOSLiT score for all grade levels, namely 37%, 39.4% and 45.5% respectively, and after calculating the overall score, the average percentage of scientific literacy ability of Konawe Middle School students is obtained. South is in the low category of 40.8%. The achievement of scientific literacy for the NOSLiT indicator of SMPN Konawe Selatan students at all grade levels obtained the highest percentage of achievement in the scientific naming aspect, followed by the scientific misconception aspect, and the ability to process skills and the lowest percentage of achievement lies in the aspect of science postulates. In general, the highest achievement for all NOSLiT indicators was obtained by class IX, followed by class VIII and class VII. The percentage achievement for class IX for indicators of scientific naming, process skills ability, and major misconceptions reached 50% and was above 50% but still this percentage is still in the low category.
