EnglishThis article presents a theoretical discussion about nursing work in an urgency and emergency hospital context. Initially, constitutive elements are outlined from a professional scenario permeated by intense demands and precarious structural conditions in which the subject is continually called to handle care demands. Aspects related to specifics attributions of these professionals are discussed and questions that extrapolate the fundamental technic formation in this work context are problematized. Thereby, it is claimed the pertinence of the psychoanalytic conceptions which emphasize and underline the importance of the care to the caregiver. It follows, therefore, the relevance of reflecting about the complex aspects implied, from the subjective conditions perspective in the professional experience of who is called to the readiness to take care of another one portuguesEste artigo apresenta uma discussao teorica acerca do trabalho de profissionais de Enfermagem no contexto hospitalar de urgencia e emergencia. Children with autism experience difficulties to develop their first language. Learning a second language (L2) can imply additional challenges even if immersed in a second language environment. The objective of this case study is to describe some of the features of the development of English as L2 in a six-year old child with high-functioning autism recently arrived in the US. The objective is to compare the process with that of typically developing children. Data were obtained from observations of tutorial sessions, which were recorded, transcribed and analyzed following Vygotsky´s dialectical method, in which learning is seen as a dynamic and complex process. The analysis shows that though the child experiences most phases as typically developing children do, some of the autistic features represent a challenge for L2 learning. However, given a permanent support on a one-to-one basis, some of these features can become an advantage for L2 learning.

EnglishThe sexual attraction towards people with disabilities is known as devotism and the people who experience it are known as devotees (Limoncin, Carta, Gravina, Carosa, Ciocca, Di Sante, Isidori, Lenzi and Jannini, 2013). Devotism is a paraphilia that has been little studied and only recently in virtual contexts has information proliferated. Taking into account that several researches suggest that paraphilic subjects can have different forms of atypical sexual behavior, the present investigation explored in a sample of 2234 devotees of the five continents the presence of paraphilias additional to that of devotism. The results indicate that BDSM practices, trekking, big breasts, podophilia, voyeurism and virtual sex were the most common paraphilias present in this sample portuguesLa atraccion sexual hacia personas con discapacidad es conocida como devotismo y las personas que la experimentan son conocidos como devotees (Limoncin, Carta, Gravina, Carosa, Ciocca, Di Sante, Isidori, Lenzi y Jannini, 2013).

This article reports the qualitative results of an entrepreneurship training program as a strategy for overcoming poverty in Latin America. 120 people participated in 16 evaluative group conversations. The main results were about the process participants carried out to engage in enterpreuning and the particularities for women in higher social vulnerability. Those results provide new information to the already found in similar evaluations focused on the entrepreneurship development, without noticing the person who engages on it nor its psychological effects. Conclusions highlight the importance of training, as well as the person who facilitates this, transmitting technical knowledge and psychological competences. Also, the need to make adjustments according to the different kinds of participants is discussed.

The effect of adding a cognitive behavioral program to an intervention program in Positive Psychology was. For this purpose, 45 university students were measured by SWLS, PANAS, CES-D, BAI and HADS scales and assigned to one of two groups: a) intervention with positive psychology or b) intervention with more cognitive-behavioral positive psychology. Pre-post comparisons indicate that a Positive Psychology intervention significantly increases life satisfaction and positive affect and significantly decreases negative affect, depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms (p .05). In short, our findings suggest that it is possible to offer psychological assistance by providing tools from Positive Psychology that promote well-being and psychological health focusing on maximizing strengths within a small period intervention. Keywords: anxiety; depression; positive emotions; wellness; psychological health

The theme of corporeity gained attention in contemporary psychology. Clarifications of this object’s nature is required as well as the dangers of epistemological reductions resulting from the split between humanistic and naturalistic psychologies. The objective of this paper is to stress the urgency of the phenomenological framework of Edith Stein (1891-1942) in the consideration of this issue. First, the definition of corporeity as a scientific object, was introduced, as it is presented on some of Stein’s works. Then, philosophical issues about the knowledge of the body was presented, as well as some implications that such theme holds to the sciences that aims the study of corporeity: Psychology, especially, since it is founded in qualitative models and physical and biological ones.
