: This article presents a synthesis of a literature review on the teaching of Spanish grammar during the period 2010-2021. Through an integrative review, 41 articles were identified, analyzed along three axes: a) teaching grammar in history, b) teaching Spanish grammar as a mother tongue and c) teaching Spanish grammar as a foreign language. In the first, it is shown that the teaching of school grammar from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century adopted a prescriptive approach. In the second, two lines of work were identified: the characterization of syntactic development in different groups of students and the treatment of grammar in order to support the acquisition of syntactic structures. In the latter axis, research focused on difficulties in the development of the verbal system and error analysis. It is concluded that more research and didactic proposals oriented to the configuration of an educational linguistics proper are required.

would demand a critical-historical analysis, in the light of the tradition of the concept of avant-garde. Due to its own disruptive, polyphonic and rhizomatic nature, where the urban has transformed its own work and in that city they have found their lair (“the dead end”, as Mario Santiago wrote), we propose five central axes for the conformation of this movement, and that converse closely with the elements of a series of avant-gardes, especially Latin American: 1) the city as a symbolic space for artistic experimentation; 2) the flâneur and drift; 3) polyphony, as a group architecture and production mechanism; 4) the (self-) marginalization of culture; and 5) a vital ethic, which becomes a defense of the artist's integrity.

In this paper we approach the narrative production of Armonía Somers in order to document the possibilities of the fantastic, based on the cognitive paradigm. From some stories of the Uruguayan author, the use of it as an investigative tool in the human condition is analyzed. In this questioning, in the light of the latest studies in cognitive sciences, it is revealed as fundamental to pay attention to the reading processes and the effects it causes in the reader. In this way, the aesthetic experience is altered by these forms of the fantastic.

: The lexicon is a relevant dimension for the acquisition of a second language in students who are being trained to become language teachers. The aim of this research is to analyze the lexical availability of students and academics of an English pedagogy program at a regional university. This research has a mixed-method approach, and data was collected by applying a lexical availability test made of 8 centers of interest to a sample of 350 students and 25 professors. The results were analyzed through a qualitative and quantitative perspective, including inferential statistics in order to determine whether there was any relationship between the the variable years of education and the students and academics’ lexical availability. This article analyzes Fernando Vallejo’s novel Escombros (2021) in light of some theories related to ruins, the body and violence with the aim of showing that in Vallejo’s novel the protagonist becomes a human ruin as a result of tragic events (Zambrano, 2012) and of a ruination process of the body considered connatural to the human being (Nancy, 2000; Sofsky, 2006; Maurette, 2018). This character coexists tensely and violently with the rest of the characters, especially with the “disposable” beings, poor bodies subjected to symbolic violence (Bourdieu, 1995, 1997; Han, 2019) who are configured as human ruins in consequence of the capitalist economic progress (Zulaika, 2006; Benjamin, 2010) in a degrading world (Nancy, 2002).

, we propose that the mode of representation of Valparaíso seems to be dominated by the threat of "aquarium", that is, that of a city permanently fenced by water, which, in addition, seems to be marked by an unfortunate fate, especially, for the catastrophes. In the face of destructive potential, the joyful sense of Valparaíso rises as a form of resistance against adversity. Using theoretical resources from the literary theory, theater studies, anthropology, and history, it is shown that the texts inspired by Dubois account for the beginning of the decadence of Valparaíso.

Among Blanco Amor’s journalistic production, Chile a la vista is a remarkable work wrote in 1948, during his Chilean journey. It was published by Editorial del Pacífico in 1951. One of its chapters is dedicated to present the effects of the city of Valparaíso in the Galician chronicler. Those articles devoted to “the Pacific jewel” are the matter of the following paper.
