As a result of the enlargement policy of the European Union, the European Neighbourhood Policy was established in order to secure the borders and entered into force in 2004. However, changes were made in the European Neighbourhood Policy due to the failure to achieve the expected results over time. In this context, the policy was divided into two parts, known as the Union for the Mediterranean (2008) and the Eastern Partnership (2009). Thus, a step was taken toward regionalizing the European Neighbourhood Policy to make it more effective. The aim of this study is to analyze the function of the European Neighbourhood Policy, one of the foreign policy instruments of the European Union, within the framework of European Union-Ukraine relations. In this context, the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership are primarily discussed, then the European Union-Ukraine relations are analyzed. The study concludes that the European Neighbourhood Policy’s contribution to relations between European Union and Ukraine is insufficient and the policy should be revised urgently to increase this contribution over time.

The amount of food lost or wasted is increasing in the world. While the problem of food waste is alarming, the existence of people suffering from hunger reveals the problem of the efficient allocation of food. Not only food waste is an economic problem, it is also an environmental problem. Thus, reducing food waste behaviour will be crucial in promoting sustainability and fighting against climate change. A widespread sustainable agricultural food production method is organic agriculture. The organic food demand is globally increasing with one of the main motivation, environmental concern. Organic consumers motivated to contribute to the environment and sustainability are also part of sustainable consumption. In this study, we reveal the food waste behaviour of organic food consumers. We have conducted an econometric analysis using data from 250 organic food consumers in five main districts of Istanbul. Our findings indicate that the frequency of organic food consumption negatively correlates with food waste. We see a general trend of low food waste among organic consumers, whereas their food waste behaviour varies regarding their organic food consumption frequency and product types.

ABSTRACT The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of charismatic leadership on affective organizational commitment of employees in accommodation establishments and to measure the mediating effect of work engagement in this relationship. A questionnaire was conducted to collect data. Questionnaires were conveyed via e-mail, and 481 applicable questionnaires were gathered. Using the AMOS program, the research hypotheses were tested with structural equation modeling (SEM). As a result of the analysis, it was found that the charismatic leadership style of the managers has a positive and significant effect on the affective organizational commitment of employees; and work engagement has a mediating effect on the relationship between charismatic leadership and affective organizational commitment. No study has been found in the literature investigating the mediating effect of work engagement on the relationship between charismatic leadership and affective organizational commitment.

In the study, the values attributed to the child in the family were examined with explanatory spatial data analysis by using Turkish Statistical Institute 2016 Turkish Family Structure Survey. In this context, the information of 12 regions of Turkey was used. The values attributed to the child in the family were classified as economic, psychological and social. The child's financial contribution to the parents in the future and old age security for the parents were taken as economic values. As psychological values, the reputation of women who have children and the way children bring parents closer to each other were used. Finally, the son's continuation of the lineage and the son's increase in the mother's reputation were taken as social values of child. As a result of the global spatial autocorrelation tests, the economic value of the child's financial contribution to the parents in the future was found statistically significant. When the clustered relations were examined using LISA maps, the value of the child through his financial contribution to the parents in the future was found high in the Eastern Black Sea, Northeastern Anatolia, Middle East Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions.

Today, in order for businesses to sustain their presence and gain a competitive advantage in the sector in which they operate, their employees must be able to achieve a high level of performance consistently. Although there are many factors affecting job performance, a leader-member exchange is an important concept used to explain the relationship between manager and employee. This study aims to determine to what extent leader-member exchange affects job performance levels and to determine the mediating role of work engagement in this interaction. The research population of this study consists of business employees operating in the textile sector in Gaziantep 5th Organized Industrial Region. The sample size reached for this study is 284 participants. The data obtained from the participants by the face-to-face survey was tested by performing explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation, and bootstrap regression analysis. The results of conceptual and empirical studies clearly show that there is a statistically significant relation between leader-member exchange and job performance. However, work engagement has a partial mediating role in the relation between job performance and leader-member exchange.

Covid-19 has spread all over the world and humanity faced with uncertain situations. These ambiguous conditions have also affected the public accountants in terms of their working schedules and social lives, as they have affected every sector. The public accountants have continued their key role between government and corporations with great effort during the Covid-19 period. Covid-19 has forced the accountants to quickly adapt to this change in work arrangement with the support of the rapid development of technology. This study aims to examine the responses of professional accountants in the frame of remote working due to Covid-19 and their adaptation to the digital transformation. In this research, the data was collected by semi-structured interviews, which are one of the qualitative methods. The interviews were conducted with 12 certified public accountants, and their responses were recorded. The results of the interviews were classified under six main themes within the framework of the answers of the participants. Accountants stated that digital transformation gained speed and remote work mounted during the pandemic period. Professionals who experienced working remotely, albeit forcibly during this period, stated that accounting can also be done from home, and that the regulation that requires obtaining an office should be updated. They also stated that during the period, there were various changes in the working schemes compared to the previous period and that they could not get enough support from the government agencies with decision authority.

In this study, the effects of political stability and the absence of violence/terrorism on tourism were empirically analysed, from the 2005 to 2018 period. A literature review on terrorism, violence, and political stability in tourism is included in the first part. The second part panel co-integration analysis has been carried out worldwide within 137 countries. As a result of the analysis, a positive long-run relationship was found between the change in the number of tourists and the political stability - no violence index. In addition, it was tried to produce evidence of whether there is an endogeneity between them.

In late industrialized countries, the principles of social differentiation have tended to be projected in divisions in trade unions. Trade unions in Turkey have been largely affected by the dynamics of the modernization adventure and the unique aspects of industrialization and proletarianization. In this process, divisions in trade unions have overlapped with social cleavages. The present study addresses the establishment and growth of the Turkish Confederation of Hak Isci Trade Unions (Turkiye Hak Isci Sendikalari Konfederasyonu; Hak-Is) relying on class differentiations. While the formation of the social structure underlying the idea of Hak-Is is discussed within the Bourdieuan theory of class, its establishment and organization processes are scrutinized within proletarianization and the design and change of industrial organization. Thus, it may be claimed that the formation of the confederation has been initiated by the class-cultural divisions that dominate Turkey’s social sphere rather than the culture and identity-based organizations considered grounds for classlessness claims. The rise of Hak-Is is discussed in relation to union practices that are all compatible with the conditions dictated by the new industrial regime. Finally, the paper focuses on the confederation’s struggle practices in industrial relations and the class consciousness of workers adopting a religious identity. In this regard, it may be asserted workers develop alternative resistance strategies apart from their collective class identities.

In this paper, we attempt to analyze the determinants of international trade flows between Turkey and countries in the One Belt One Road (OBOR) project and their implications for the Turkish economy through the estimation of panel data using a gravity model. In particular, we employ the Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) estimation procedure for the nine OBOR nations from the period 2000-2021. This estimator is more robust than other methods such as pooled, fixed, and random models and it is free from the problems of autocorrelation, asymptotic bias, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticty in the residuals for estimation and inference. First, panel unit root tests show that conducted variables are stationary at the conventional level. Second, the gravity estimations revealed that remoteness, scale, land endowment variables and, dummies (Preferential Trade Agreement and Border) in the gravity model have a positive impact, while GDP Distance and Capital Endowment have an inverse effect on trade flows. Only the language dummy is statistically insignificant. For policy purposes, we concluded that it would be better to promote trade flows with the OBOR countries.

The aim of this paper is to investigate job satisfaction of Turkish white-collar employees and to determine how multicultural companies in Tallinn satisfy their employees in the context of the Two-Factor Theory of Herzberg and location. To attain this purpose, we explore the job satisfaction of Turkish white-collar employees living in Tallinn. We used a semi-structured framework with in-depth interviews that included open and closed-ended questions based on a review of the literature. Snowball sampling was used in the selection of the interviewees and the sample was selected according to the job titles suitable for the definition of white-collar employee. Ten interviews with Turkish white-collar employees from six different multicultural firms were conducted. Our findings indicate that salary and supervision were shown to be crucial in enhancing Turkish white-collar employees' job satisfaction, according to the findings, based on Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory. White-collar employees expect good guidance and effective supervision from their managers, and a good salary has been shown to increase their job satisfaction.
