This article aims to continue the study by Kilimnik et al. (2011) - as in previous studies conducted on the subject by Kilimnik, Correa Oliveira (2009a) and Kilimnik and Correa (2009b) - on professional skills and managers who made a career transition from corporations to the academic field. Using these authors’ original proposal five years after their research, we seek to investigate any changes in their teaching skills as well as to identify didactic and pedagogical strategies used. Adopting the qualitative approach as done previously, this research features a longitudinal cohort study and it involved conducting 25 semi-structured interviews in depth with individuals who participated in the previous empirical survey. The content analysis of interviews was carried out with the help of the QDA Miner software. The results confirm a significant part of the competencies identified in the previous survey. It was also verified that the respondents seek to transfer the experience of the corporate world to the academia using educational techniques such as case studies and dynamics. According to the respondents themselves, work experience, despite being one of the strengths they brought from the corporate world, is not enough if not associated with theory, generating learning.

Higher education in Brazil has experienced significant growth in recent years, while the permanence, retention and students dropout are issues that have required increased efforts of managers of Higher Education Institutions to ensure that the student will join the institution, receive training and in end the diploma. This study aimed to identify students permanence attributes in a public institution of higher education of Parana. To do this, a survey of 228 students enrolled in the first half of 2014 was conducted. The research was descriptive with quantitative approach. The data collection instrument was a structured questionnaire divided into two parts, the first, closed questions with a seven-point scale Likert, the second, quantitative and qualitative variables to describe the sample profile. Regression analysis indicated that student confidence in the institution, the financial situation of the student and how the institution met their expectations, were the direct exponents of permanence. These constructs explained 11.3% of the total variability of the permanence trend. Final considerations, research limitations and suggestions for future research are part of the final stage of work.

Inabilities to deal with the changing environment may lead Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to loose institutional attractiveness. Digital transformation requires global insertion as essential feature to institutional attractiveness. Processes for international education seem to lack the links between real environmental trends and the internal capabilities to global education. HEI managers may approach endeavors to internationalize education combining ambidextrous strategy supported by consolidated resilience capabilities. The latest ones refer to building internal value attributes to increase institutional attractiveness assuring solid standing in the global environment. In this article, a theoretical essay, we approach the problem of creating resilience as a way of backing up ambidexterity to generate institutional attractiveness. The set of value attributes, on the other hand, may originate strategic routes to strengthen internal competences and to make the institution more attractive, as a dynamic capability.

The article presents a description and analysis of the strategic plans of Latin American universities. The strategic plan is the main product of a planning process. Planning is the initial phase of university management. The research describes and analyzes 93 strategic plans in force in 19 countries in the region. It is a study of type exploratory and descriptive, transversal; made with approved plans and published surveys, interviews, as well as ongoing theoretical references about strategic planning. The results show a wide variety of terms, processes and methods used in the preparation of plans. As the prevalence of participatory processes and application incomplete and outdated methods. The Academic World Ranking 2014, as an indicator of the outcome of university management, show that universities in the region are not well classified. Some universities in Brazil are among the few top-ranked universities for most. Finally, a critical analysis and proposals made.

This research identified teacher training and the use of interactive digital whiteboard as a method of teaching and learning in a Instituto Federal (IF) of Santa Catarina. A questionnaire was applied to 132 teachers with closed questions of IF. It is a descriptive research with survey data, descriptive analysis of the data. It was identified that the teachers were not sufficiently trained to use interactive digital whiteboard as a teaching and learning tool. Two groups were perceived within the IES study: half of the respondents use the tool and promote interaction in the classroom, providing opportunities for the student himself is constructor of knowledge, and the other half is not adept at the use of interactive digital whiteboard in classroom. was also possible to identify consensus between teachers that interactive digital whiteboard play an important role in the interaction between teacher and student, the collective and interactive knowledge construction as well as in a beneficial tool that facilitates learning integration, because it is present in the daily lives of students. One limitation of this study, cites the size of the sample, not being able to make generalizations. Este estudo destaca a importância da criacao de um Escritorio de Projetos (PMO) em uma Universidade Publica como elemento eficaz na tomada de decisao dos processos administrativos. A iniciativa inovadora na gestao publica sul-mato-grossense teve inicio em outubro de 2011 e o projeto de Implantacao do PMO da Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul - UEMS segue o Guia PMBOK, publicado pelo Project Management Institute (PMI), nos Estados Unidos da America, em 1969. O Guia estabelece cinco processos para implantacao de um PMO: 1) levantamento da estrutura organizacional (levantamento dos problemas); 2) identificacao e escolha de metodologias (softwares); 3) customizacao (treinamentos); 4) divulgacao (mudanca de cultura organizacional); e, 5) gerenciamento de projetos. A metodologia adotada para o trabalho foi a de Estudo de Caso com as etapas de sensibilizacao por meio de palestras, de capacitacao para que pudessem diagramar os problemas-chaves das suas Unidades Universitarias, com intuito de obter um inventario de forma democratica e participativa e de analise dos resultados alcancados. Na UEMS, o trabalho abrangeu suas quinze unidades universitarias e o modelo de Escritorio de Projetos adotado foi o “PMO Nivel Estrategico” (nivel 3), com desdobramentos junto as Pro-Reitorias, Diretorias e Unidades Universitarias (nivel 2) ate os setores Operacionais (nivel 1). Este artigo relata como se desenvolveram as tres primeiras fases do processo de implantacao do Escritorio de Projetos da UEMS e a sua contribuicao significativa no gerenciamento dos projetos e os resultados positivos alcancados desta gestao.

Os documentos digitais se tornam cada vez mais presentes na rotina das Instituicoes de Ensino Superior (IES) ampliando a preocupacao com a integridade dos dados, a garantia da identidade e a confidencialidade das partes envolvidas. A legislacao obriga a IES a manter a guarda dos documentos dos alunos, avaliacoes, registros de notas e assiduidade por anos e ate por guarda perpetua. Portanto, quando uma IES adota um modelo para a guarda, tratamento e validacao dos documentos em meio eletronico ou digital adota, tambem, novos processos de gestao da informacao que podem afetar a cultura organizacional. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar e analisar as interfaces entre a inovacao na gestao eletronica de documentos e a cultura organizacional relacionado a mudancas de processo na guarda eletronica de documento realizando-se um estudo de caso numa IES comunitaria. Os resultados indicam que, embora existam dificuldades de adaptacoes ao processo devido a cultura de uma IES, com o amadurecimento do processo o aprendizado amplia os beneficios do novo processo pela disseminacao da inovacao e seus reflexos em outras areas. O estudo concluiu que o processo de digitalizacao alem de trazer vantagens onde foi aplicado, estendeu os beneficios para outras areas da IES.

Dos mais de sete milhoes de universitarios dos cursos de graduacao no Brasil, mais de 18% optam pelo curso de Administracao. Em meio a concorrencia dos cursos de graduacao em Administracao, o envolvimento individual do aluno interfere no processo de formacao do profissional. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo e estudar o envolvimento dos alunos de Administracao sob as dimensoes que interferem no processo de aprendizagem, sendo elas: cognitiva, afetiva, comportamental e agenciativa relatadas por Veiga (2013). O estudo acontece em tres diferentes instituicoes que oferecem ensino superior em Administracao na cidade de Caxias do Sul, o que torna possivel a comparacao do envolvimento dos alunos em diferentes instituicoes de ensino superior em Administracao. O estudo quantitativo descritivo, contou com uma amostra total de 137 respondentes para a realizacao da analise estatistica, na qual concluiu que em tres das quatro dimensoes analisadas apresentaram diferencas significativas entre as instituicoes analisadas. A dimensao agenciativa, na qual o aluno busca enriquecer o aprendizado de forma intencional e proativa foi a que apresentou a maior divergencia entre as instituicoes.

The objective of the study is to determine which teaching methods are most effective in relation to learning in the perception of students and of those which have been most used by teachers. Methodological research is characterized as descriptive as the goal, lifting with regard to procedures and quantitative regarding the processing and analysis of data. The study population comprised students and teachers of Accounting Course Community of the Region of Chapeco University of Santa Catarina, with a sample of sample 95 students and 17 teachers. As a result it was found that, in the perception of the students, the teaching method and technique considered more effective for learning is solving exercise, however, the lecture (theory) is a methodology widely used by teachers. As the importance and efficiency of resources for learning, the use of books and handouts as indicated by the students, however, PowerPoint (data show) is the tool most used by teachers. Thus, it was concluded that there was a convergence of what students consider effective for their learning, with what in their perception teachers have used more for teaching.

A profissionalizacao do ramo educacional faz com que as IES (Instituicoes de Ensino Superior) busquem informacoes sobre atratividade de seus cursos, ou seja, quais fatores sao determinantes para a escolha desta Instituicao. Assim, o presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar quais os fatores determinantes na escolha dos alunos por cursos de pos-graduacao lato sensu de uma instituicao de ensino superior. Para atender ao objetivo foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva com abordagem quantitativa, em uma instituicao de ensino superior de Vitoria- Espirito Santo, por meio da aplicacao de um questionario a 210 estudantes no seu primeiro dia de aula na pos-graduacao. Os dados foram analisados com uso de estatistica descritiva e multivariada. Os principais resultados, que contribuem positivamente para a atratividade da IES, estao relacionados a fatores como: estrutura da instituicao de ensino superior, por exemplo, seguranca do campus e o local de refeicao; atualizacao do curso, professores com vivencia no mercado do trabalho e atualizacao das disciplinas do curso; e motivos pessoais, como a localizacao da instituicao. Estes fatores pode ser um importante indicador para as IES que oferecem curso d pos-graduacao.
