This paper reports the knowledge and skills of undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Semarang. A mixed method of quantitative and qualitative used in this study. For achieving this study's objective, nine indicators and four aspects (seeking for information, solving problems, communication, and methodology) were developed and validated. Sixth-semester students, that have taken the Methodology of Educational Research course, were asked to work on a diagnostic test to examine their knowledge and skills during their time in composing a research proposal. The techniques of data analysis were the interactive model by Miles and Huberman and Rasch model. The results revealed that although their initial knowledge about educational research was lacking (52.5%), their research skills were dominantly good. This study implies that the involvement of students in lecturers' research either as research subjects, data collectors, or research assistants is needed to generate skilled and knowledgeable students in the field of educational research.

The research aim is to improve the creative thinking skills through the 5E Learning Cycle Model and use the Kemmis & McTaggart design classroom action research approach on 44 Pre-service Primary School Teachers in Yogyakarta who have low creative thinking skills in 1 cycle with two meetings. As a result, the pre-service teachers' creative thinking skills increase with details: the mean test results of students' creative thinking skills increased from 57, 14 in pretest to 62, 17 in meetings 1 and 72, 24 in meeting 2. The improvement of creative thinking skills indicators is: Fluency indicator increased from 66% to 67% in meeting 1 and 68% in meeting 2. Flexibility increased from 73% to 83% in meeting 1 and 84% in meeting 2. Originality increased from 30% to 40% in meetings 1 and 43% in meeting 2. Elaboration increased from 47% to 48% in meeting 1 and 59% in meeting 2. The main activities in the 5E Learning Cycle model that supports efforts to increase the creative thinking skills is recalling pre-service teachers' initial knowledge, activities to plan hypotheses and problem formulations at the engagement step, literature exploration and trial activities in exploration step, as well as discussion and presentation of results in explanation. This research concludes that the 5E Learning Cycle model improves creative thinking skills by maximizing the activities of developing hypotheses, planning problems, exploring literature, experimenting, discussing, and presenting the results. Endeavors to improve the creative thinking skills in this research contribute to preparing pre-service teachers with the provision of creative thinking skills to engage the world of society era 5.0 and ready to develop their students' creative thinking skills later so that the quality of Indonesian education may improve.

This study aims to determine the social skills of children with learning disabilities in Inclusive Schools. This research method used a quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this research were 20 teachers who teach children with learning disabilities at Inclusive Elementary School. The data collection technique used a closed questionnaire with the Guttman scale arranged based on aspects of social skills and that has been validated. To analyze the results of the study, researchers used descriptive statistics with predetermined category s. The results of the analysis showed that the social skills of children with learning disabilities were categorized as low with a percentage of 60%, moderate with a percentage of 10%, and high with a percentage of 30%. Therefore, the development of a social skills-based learning model is needed for children with learning disabilities in Inclusive Schools to improve their social skills.

The purpose of this study is to identify how does grit effect in the medical education professional student program or medical internship during the medical internship phase. This research is a qualitative study using a case study approach. Data collection is obtained through in-depth interviewing methods for professional education students who have undergone a clinical process for at least one year. Data analysis in research after the process of collecting data is by data reduction which includes data presentation and made a conclusion. The results of the study illustrate how professional medical education students maintain their consistency of interest while undergoing professional education. Medical education students also show perseverance of effort in dealing with any problems or difficulties experienced during professional education. Both problems originating from within themselves such as personal problems and sourced from the learning environment such as handling cases, complaints from patients, relationships with colleagues and counselors, as well as how the clinical students do time management. Confidence and effort within oneself can increase grit for medical professional education students. In addition, students also need support or motivation from counseling doctors, colleagues, and families so that they can diligently undergo each stage in the doctor's education process.

The school-age child period is the most effective age in internalizing the value of nationalism, which starts to erode due to globalization's influence. This study aimed to describe the role of character education in internalizing the values of nationalism to elementary school students. The research used descriptive qualitative research design with a sample of fifth-grade students in public elementary schools in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. Data collection techniques taken from observation and interviews. Triangulation source used to validate the data. The results showed that students needed to be aware and had real efforts about nationalism, such as ceremonial activities and singing national songs. Therefore, learning activities inside and outside the classroom, such as literacy, scouting, and learning of local culture, become a place for educators to internalize the values of nationalism. Herbal medicine is a traditional medicine that is still often encountered around us. Jamu is made from spices with simple processing, one of which is ground. People often make herbal medicine but have not paid deep attention to what learning is contained in it. This study explores the relationship between learning science and herbal medicine mash made by the Samin residents. The purpose of this study was to explore the science concept in the process of making mashed herbal medicine for the Samin residents. This study used ethnographic methods with qualitative descriptive data analysis. There were 5 respondents consisting of Baturejo village officials, the elders of the samin community, the descendants of samin who were married to other samin, the descendants of samin who were married to Islam, and one Sukolilo villager who was involved to explore the concept of sains in the process of making the mashed herbal medicine of the Samin residents. The process of collecting data by means of semi-structured interviews. The results of the interview indicated that the Samin residents had applied the science concept in the process of making mashed jamu, but did not understand it because 99% did not go to school. The understanding of the people of Samin is only about making herbal medicine using natural tools that were passed down by their ancestors for medicine. The science concept contained in the mashed herbal medicine process includes the concept of motion, force, pressure, friction, collision, form, acid-base, color change, molecules and particles, active locomotion, and vitamin content.

The purpose of this study is to (1) find the effectiveness of SPADA-based learning in the Covid Pandemic Period-19, (2) find the SPADA-based learning constraints in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period, and (3) find alternative solutions to SPADA-based learning constraints in the Pandemic Period Covid-19 at Primary Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University. This study uses a qualitative approach type case study on the Primary Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University Campus Kebumen in the even semester of the academic year 2019/2020.This study uses student respondents and lecturers of Primary Teacher Education. The instruments used were questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data analysis, which includes: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that (1) the effectiveness of SPADA-based learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period is not good, (2) SPADA-based learning constraints in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period, among which (a) lack of understanding of the concept of SPADA-based learning, (b) lack of readiness in implementing SPADA-based learning, (c) lack of readiness in the management of learning resources for SPADA-based learning. The alternative solutions are (a) the need to deepen the concept of SPADA-based learning, (b) increasing the readiness of implementing SPADA-based learning, and (c) improving the management of learning resources in SPADA-based learning. The conclusion of this research is that SPADA-based learning still needs to be improved, especially issues of socialization, understanding, and learning resource management.
