Recently information communication technologies have been actively employed in education. Science is also rapidly developing regarding its exploitation of IT in manipulating obtained data through research. Designing, accomplishing scientific research, collecting data and most importantly testing and manipulating the data are the integral parts of quality research. In many cases statistical treatment of large data sets requires a great deal of resources, effort and time. Information technologies have been providing effective solutions in this process. The article is devoted to the basics of using one of the widespread statistical data processing tools, namely, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software, developed by IBM Inc., in conducting mathematical statistical calculations in educational research. The author also illustrates several basic statistical calculations done in SPSS.

There are morphological, syntactic, semantic, accentic aspects of layout in the language corpus. The corpus is the most convenient means of observing the language fluctuation of the dictionary (neologism, istorism, archaism) and its material must be linguistically processed. The complex of tags is the main tool for the implementation of this linguistic process (analysis). By monitoring the surroundings of this or that linguistic unit, it is possible to identify certain semantic characters that characterize this unity. The word may refer to a few semantic categories simultaneously, so it is important to consider the level of the word or the category of the word. The rank is determined by counting the distribution frequency according to different categories. Thus, by means of a corpus it is possible to find out the semantic category of words and to get acquainted with the meaning of each category. A set of semantic tags should be perfectly designed so that the body can indicate which semantic category it belongs to. This article discusses the significance of semantic groups, colonies and domains in the development of a set of semantic labels. The set of semantic tags is based on the semantic field, semantic colon, and LSG. On the first page of the interface semantic fields of the Uzbek language are given, if a semantic field is selected, the second window opens, the semantic groups of the same area appear, semantic gangs are again separated from the LSG. This structure of the interface works on the basis of the analysis of “analyze the word” principle. At the stage of morphological markup for the horse horoscope, the semantic area affiliation also refers to an explanation of how the LMG enters the label. The use of the semantic theory of the body in the case of a corpus can also be the basis for the ideological arc of the body.

The article considers the role of morphophonological elements such as stress, alternation of phonemes in the choice of suffixes in the deminutative word formation, and the nature of the relationship between them. It is traditionally believed that Russian word formation is agglutinative, since the affix dominates, and the stress and alternation of phonemes are subordinate to it. The Russian language is fusional in the typological characteristics, as fusional characteristics that manifest themselves in alternation of phonemes, alternation of stress, declension, conjugation and derivation, define the typological features of the Russian language. Therefore, the article suggest that Russian word formation is also fusional. Fusion is expressed in the fact that the morphological characteristics of the deriving word predict the choice of suffixes, which are variants within the same paradigm of allomorphs of the word-forming affix. The research showed that stress, phoneme alternation and suffix are functionally equal, since suffix can also specify the stress and the alternant of the derived word. Consequently, the alternation of allomorphs of suffixes, as well as alternations in a word stem, including the rules for choosing allomorphs, is not an object of word-formation analysis, but relate to morphophonology. Thus, the hypothesis of functional equivalence of stress, phoneme alternation, and affix alternation is confirmed in the description of word formation of masculine diminutives with suffixes -ик, -ок (-ек), -ушек (-юшк, -ишек), -анёк (-енёк), as shown in the suffix allomorph selection table.

The author of the article considers one of the most topical issues of our time – teaching of a foreign language at school. The author underlines a lot of opportunities for increasing the effectiveness of foreign language lessons where the process of linguistic, cognitive, social and creative factors is at play. Students need to master the skills of academic writing not only for acquiring the knowledge, but also for their further education. It is also significant for teachers to know who their students are, what they think and how teachers can best assist them. This study examines the last-year schoolchildren at specialized schools. A questionnaire and interviews were used to collect data about students’ level of speaking and listening awareness, their attitudes toward, expectations for, assumptions about and motivation for learning foreign languages. The preliminary results of the research show that students from different classes initially have different concepts about the in put and output process with different learning styles. The conclusion can also be drawn about those students’ level for academic purpose is increasing on a daily basis. Following the analysis of preliminary research results, some recommendations for language teaching will also be presented. Expanding knowledge about the cultural heritage of their native country they become familiar with the culture of the countries of the studied language and the key to students’ successful speech activity is non-traditional forms of the English language lessons.

The main focus of this research work is to analyze the symbols and their role in interpreting the novel “The Kite Runner” by Afghan-born American writer Khaled Hosseini who has widely used artistic signs in his novel. With the help of symbols the essence of the work has been conveyed to the reader through the sensitivity of artistic principles. The symbols in the novel were analyzed being divided into categories as characters, places, things and complex symbols. The introduction of the symbols in the novel, as the secret information of the author to the reader, is a masterpiece of the artistic idea that has not been provided in the text but intended for it. Moreover, it is a figure of speech through which any author is able to express in an indirect way a certain mood, concept, a political ideology, a period or emotion in a work of literature using a physical object, character, event or word. Symbols in the literary work are of great importance to help readers visualize complex concepts and central themes, and track their development; afford writers the opportunity to communicate complex ideas efficiently and artfully; invite readers to interpret a text independently; add emotional value to a text; conceal themes that are too controversial to state openly; imply change or growth in characters or themes through shifts in the way that characters interact with particular symbols, or ways in which the symbols themselves change over time. The catastrophic events connected with the World Trade Center that occurred on September 11, 2001, caused a surge of interest in a little-known Central Asian country Afghanistan. Consequently, most people around the world discovered a new, yet soon stereotyped face of Afghan people as terrorists and their allies. Thus, Khaled Hosseini along with other compatriot authors endeavored to reshape the overlooked image of his nation and his native land once he abandoned, in different perspectives, social and moral angles.
