Cyber-attacks on critical infrastructure have been on the rise. Therefore, cyber-security has become very important for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). For communication protocol in ICS networks, the Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) communication protocol, which enables secure and platform-independent communications, is expected to be widely used. Beginning from OPC UA v1.04, which was released in 2021, Pub/Sub mode has been supported in addition to Client/Server. Because it can easily support much more communications than usual, it can support all use cases in the industrial sector. An important property of OPC UA is encryption. It is effective in protecting communication data from tampering and eavesdropping but also makes it impossible to monitor communications. In ICS, ill commands to controllers can cause dangerous situations. Even a secure communication protocol cannot guarantee that the data being communicated are safe. There are many types of machines, such as operating support systems and engineering workstations, that can send commands to controllers. They are implemented in common operating systems and may fall victim to a cyber-attack. Therefore, the commands to controllers should be monitored. We propose a monitoring system for encrypted data by OPC UA.

It is challenging to model the relationship between context and intent, and the relationship between context and intent is complicated. The purpose of this study is to make structuralizing context and intention easier in design-related communication such as requirement analysis and architecture design in various fields, and thereby to enable conveying messages as intended. This study also shows cases that context and intention cannot be structuralized. In this study, we assume what a person wants to realize as a “system”, and call the way to realize it as “design”. A person who intends to realize something receives information from someone else who provides supporting information, and implements the design work. This study evaluated language information by clarifying the structure of context and intent of example sentences. Thereby, this study evaluated the effectiveness of structuralization. Finally, this study concludes with future research topics.

In the Ogino area of Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Wadaiko(Japanese drums) is practiced and passed down to generations for performance at festivals and other events. However, nearby residents would sometimes make noise complaints to the government about the sound generated. Therefore, in Atsugi City, the use of city facilities is prohibited when the main purpose is to practice Wadaiko, creating a situation in which practices are restricted to only some locations. Physical noise control for membranophone instruments such as Wadaiko is difficult from the architectural perspective, as well as the cost perspective if it were to be carried out by the local government. Therefore, the final goal of this study is to find a solution to the noise problem through social measures so that traditional musical instruments whose physical noise control is difficult, such as Wadaiko, will continue to be passed down to generations. First, we uncovered the appearance of the acoustic characteristics of Wadaiko through acoustic measurements. Additionally, by working with the locals, we obtained a clear picture of the current noise complaints and situations. Next, as part of the Noise Compatibility Planning attempt, we set up a website and constructed an operational system to collect feedback from the locals regarding the Wadaiko sounds in order to cater to all lifestyles and circumstances. This paper covers a part of the initial stage of the project. In consideration of people who are easily affected by noise, such as examinees, sick patients, those who are hypersensitive to hearing, and those of specific lifestyles, the community association and the university collaborated to build a website accessible to all residents in the area. Using the website, they schedule practice days and times and create and operate a noise map by monitoring environmental noise regularly. Although not everyone can escape from the Wadaiko noise, we have focused on noise control measures that considered the characteristics of every individual, which is possible only in a small community.

In this paper, we consider developing a QGIS plugin to support ideas from multiple keywords. In the existing idea support system, Google searched for any two keywords, created a co-occurrence network diagram, and visualized the relationships between words in a 3D directed graph. However, since there is no geographic information, it is difficult to know where to use the ideas obtained. Since the co-occurrence network diagram is only information on the Web, it is difficult to reflect the latest trend information. Therefore, we have made it possible to examine where the ideas obtained by using QGIS are practical.

An environmental education program primarily focused on ecosystem preservation was constructed in Aya Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, which was registered as Aya Biosphere Reserve (hereinafter “BR”) in 2012. As expressed in the Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter “SDGs”), the Earth's environmental problems are recognized as a pressing issue. In order to address this issue, it is important to develop personnel who will support the next generation. The state of the environmental education program conducted within Aya BR is regarded as Project & Program Management framework, and the program was implemented in Aya Town. A system was constructed that provided environmental education for students throughout the entire region by integrating the principles of industry, government, and academia in line with the environmental education program at Aya BR. The purpose was to develop and demonstrate environmental education teaching materials that utilize remote sensing technology.

This paper presents an optimization model using stochastic programming to secure the optimum seat and maximizing the profit of the airline in consideration of overbooking. Airline seat inventory control involves selling the right seats to the right people at the right time. If an airline sells tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis, it is likely to be occupied by leisure travelers and late bookers. Generally, business travelers willing to pay a higher fare will subsequently find no seats left, and revenue from such sales will be lost. While there are various needs that depend on the type of passenger, we propose an optimization model using stochastic programming as a method of maximizing the profit of the airline company by securing seats appropriately and employing the concept of overbooking.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the difference between the KJ method and the scientific problem solving (SPS) method, which is representative of problem-finding and problem-solving approaches. To that end, we analyzed the characteristics of the strategy between the KJ and SPS methods through the research results of Nisbett and Meyer. In addition, we clarified that the difference in thinking styles is “analytic thought” and “holistic thought”.

In recent years, the number of systems using artificial intelligence (AI) is increasing. Even in Chess, Shogi, and Go, which are perfect information games, AI has been used to beat masters. Furthermore, AI has been actively researched in the imperfect information games Poker and Mahjong, and has reached the point where it can be played on par with humans. On the other hand, the werewolf game focused on in our research is an incomplete information game, and it is also necessary to aim for victory as a team using asymmetric information. In this paper, we report that the winning percentage of werewolf team can be improved by taking a team strategy in a 15-player werewolf game.

Assessing the consequences of emerging technological concepts on human existence is a challenge that requires unconventional approaches. Science Fiction Prototyping is a methodology that builds on the art of telling stories about our future. Since 2017, we have been using Science Fiction Prototyping to develop an extended approach we call immersive SciFi Prototyping. Immersive SciFi Prototyping features multilinear Virtual Reality (VR) scenarios in order to promote the exchange between scientists and the broad public on the consequences of Emerging Technologies. The resulting discourse will bring together scientists, decision makers and laypeople who can discuss opportunities and risks of Emerging Technologies based on their immersive experiences.
