Purpose: The purpose of the study is to exposes impression management in the developing country, with a specific focus on the Top 40 Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). Despite not being required by the International Financial Reporting Standards, the Chairperson's statement is the most read statement among the more than 80% of listed companies. The study investigated profitable and unprofitable companies' use of impression management through passive voice and personal references. Methodology: Secondary data in form of annual reports were used and self-attribution theory was used as framework. Mixed content analysis was used. Using a targeted sample, the study differentiated between 20 profitable and 20 unprofitable companies, based on the change in pre-tax profit between fiscal 2019 and fiscal 2020. Findings: Profitable and unprofitable companies used self-attribution bias. The Mann-Whitney test finds no significant difference despite profitable organizations’ using more self-attribution than unprofitable companies. The continued use of impression management deceives investors and impairs their ability to make informed decisions Implications: The study sends a strong warning to potential investors on use of impression management by listed companies. Further, the study further adds to the debate on impression management through self-attribution in corporate reporting.

Purpose: Malaysia as a rapidly developing country is now immersed in the current technology that makes people less active due to the use of modern equipment such as machines, remote controls, and push-button technology. Coronary heart disease, cancer, and stroke are examples of non-communicable diseases that are closely related to a sedentary lifestyle. Design/Methodology/Approach: The trend of social media influencers such as celebrities, fitness coaches, and health professionals as agents of healthy lifestyles showed positive impacts. The approach in this study will analyze the secondary existing literature on the impact of social media influencers on their followers to change their behavior through the content they create, sharing knowledge and skills to lead a healthy lifestyle. Findings: The conceptual framework was developed based on Self-Determination Theory (SDT) to predict an individual’s health behaviors and attraction to follow social media influencers in social media networking. Implications/Originality/Value: This study examined whether SDT concepts (basic psychological needs and autonomous motivation) were associated with engagement in healthy lifestyle behaviors among social media users.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to understand the dynamics of democracy through empirical analysis of socio-economic determinants of democracy Design/Methodology/Approach: This is an empirical study based on secondary data from 1980- 2018. This research employs the Auto-Regressive and Distributive Lag (ARDL) econometric technique to find short-run and long relationships between democracy and its influencing factors. Findings: This paper’s findings unearth that education expenditures and economic growth are positively associated with democracy and are statistically significant in the long run. Furthermore, government expenditure, trade openness, corruption, and law & order are negatively associated with democracy and statistically significant in the long run. Implications/Originality/Value This research suggests that it is importantly needed for the democratic government to rise the education expenditure and take an initiative for the better education of the voters, and make them able to understand their manifestos and the effects of their policies on the betterment of society. From top to bottom corruption and uncertain law & order situation in Pakistan would reduce trust in democracy and increases the level of frustration among citizens. The responsibility of improving the law & order situation and the eradication of corruption comes to the current Democratic government through strengthening the institutions and effective implementations.

Purpose: This paper aims at discovering the problems faced by English Language Teachers in knowledge sharing, knowledge creation, and knowledge use. Design/Methodology/Approach: The factors like large-size classes, lack of resources, prescriptive curriculum, unmotivated students, and the faulty assessment system create impediments for English language teachers in knowledge use whereas the factors like centralized organizational structure, excess of work, lack of trust, lack of motivation and an absence of knowledge sharing and knowledge receiving behavior among English teachers are hurdles in knowledge sharing and knowledge creation. Data was collected through a randomly selected sample of 150 in-service teachers of English. Data was simply elaborated through charts by the researchers. Findings: Finally, based on findings, certain generalizations are made about the factors that hamper the process of knowledge sharing, knowledge creation, and knowledge use. Implications/Originality/Value: There are also given some recommendations that may be valuable for the betterment of the process of knowledge sharing, knowledge creation, and knowledge use in educational organizations

Purpose: The study's goal is to look into the impact of poverty on schooling in rural Pakistan. The purpose of the research is to see if pupils in Pakistan are truly affected by the country's economic situation and how much a standard of life can influence a student's education rural community. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research study used a cross-sectional survey design to scientifically analyze and identifies or discusses various dimension of poverty that impacts education. The data was obtained using a questionnaire from a sample of 650 respondents drawn from the area. Using regression analysis and other results performed through STATA and Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS). Findings: In Pakistan, there is a long list of educational issues. We may not have the ability to change the system, but we do have the ability to change ourselves. As a result, many in positions of power are unconcerned about the government schools' weak educational system. Because parents' income is insufficient to sustain the entire family, Pakistan's rising poverty forces every member of the household to work. In this situation how can a poor man care about his children's education when he has nothing to eat. Implications/Originality/Value: Education, more than ever, is the key to escaping poverty, while poverty remains the most significant barrier to education.
