We emulate the reflectionless response of a traveling-wave resonator using two bus-coupled photonic crystal nanobeam cavities with respective symmetric and antisymmetric modes. The scheme may enable new active device platforms beyond ring resonators.

We generate the super-resolution hollow beams with long depth of focus (DOF) by diffractive optical elements (DOEs). The hollow beams can provide great flexibility by controlling spot size and DOF through the DOEs parameters.

We demonstrate an optics pipeline for classical computer-vision autoencoders, which are a reliable de-noising defense against adversarial attacks. With vortex Fourier encoding, we show results with 10 nJ/cm2 illumination.

A phase added stereogram method that allows calculation of computer-generated holograms that have large horizontal parallax is developed. It is shown that our method can synthetize large holograms with high computational efficiency.

We, for the first time, realize a type of soliton rain in a frequency-comb-tailored format that is partially depleted from a noise-like-pulse package in a fiber laser. This is enabled by incorporating a home-made micro-knot-resonator.

2D pseudo-vector field maps are derived from second-harmonic generation images of bone. Measures adapted from fluid dynamics, such as enstrophy and tortuosity, quantitatively distinguish between images with and without Harvesian canals.
