This research aimed to investigate the patterns of selLing-and-buying transactions in a traditional market. The data sources of this research were the the sellers and the buyersin beef, chicken, fruit, grocery, and vegetable shopsof Pasar Waru, a traditional market, in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. The data were in the form of transactional conversations between the sellers and the buyers. Qualitative method was applied in this research by using the formula of generic structure potential theory proposed by Halliday Hasan (1985) to describe the patterns of buying-and-selling transaction in the market. The result shows that generic structure elements in some shops at Pasar Waru comprises: greeting (G), sale initiation (SI), sale enquiry (SE), sale request (SR), sale compliance (SC), sale (S), purchase (P), purchase closure (PC), and finish (F). The grocery, beef, and chicken shop had a similar structure of G^SR^SC^S^P^PC, whereas the fruit shop showed its actual structure G^SI^SE^SR^SC^S^P^PC. Meanwhile, the vegetable shop had G^SI^SR^SC^S^P^PC structure. As a whole, the five shops produced generic potential structure [(G).^] [{ SR^ SC }^S^] P^PC.
^] [{sr ^ sc}^ s ^] p ^ pc。

In etnopedagogic-based drama learning by the students of English Study Program, the exploration of local wisdom values can be carried out among others by transforming folklores into play scripts in English. The transformed folklores can then be performed on stages. In the process of transforming a script from its hypogram, a supporting skill in the form of integration between creative writing and English as a Foreign Language Mastery (EFL) mastery is absolutely necessary. Therefore, it takes an interdisciplinary approach between those two domains of expertise to succeed the transformation process. This research employed descriptive-qualitative method with contextual grounded case study approach. It was aimed at describing the process of transformation of Banyumas folklore texts to English play scripts ranging from the intrinsic elements to the language aspects in the play. The findings showed that there were changes in the characters, settings, plots as well as the conflicts of the stories. Meanwhile, regarding the language used, there were found a number of grammatical mistakes in using possessive pronouns, verbs, word order, tenses, and diction.

Tip of the tongue (ToT) is experienced by BIPA students when speaking Indonesian due to delayed lexical access. This study aims to describe two focuses, namely: (1) the characteristics of the target vocabulary and the ToT vocabulary and (2) the mental processes when the ToT occurs. The theory used in this research is lexical retrieval in morphosemantics. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out by observation and interview techniques during the learning process of BIPA Muhammadiyah Malang University. The results showed that ToT occurred in nouns (42%), verbs (24%), adjectives (21%), conjunctions (8%), and numeralia (5%). Tip of the tongue is accompanied by a lot of silence as a fallacy effect that appears in the speech. Gestur becomes a description of the meaning features of the target vocabulary. The mental process of ToT occurs in several events, namely (1) the speaker has a picture of the object in his mind, (2) the activation of the semantic set when the active vocabulary has a relation with the meaning of the target vocabulary, (3) activation of the meaning field when the speaker describes it, (4) activation of the phonological set when the similar sound vocabulary appears in the mind, and (5) the appearance of the first language and / or intermediate language.

Writer’s Block is a psychiatric phenomenon experienced by writers in the form of a deadlock when writing because of certain obstacles. This study discusses the writer’s block that the female protagonist experienced in the metropop novel The Architecture of Love by Ika Natassa. Data was collected by the documentation study technique and reviewed with a literary psychology approach. The theoretical foundation used is the theory of Bergler, Singer Barrios. The research problems formulated are how the writer’s block phenomenon is displayed in the novel The Architecture of Love, and how the narrative elements in the work support the themes presented by the author. The results showed that the writer’s block phenomenon experienced by the main character was especially caused by unhappiness that is manifested in the form of apathy, anger, anxiety, and problems with other people (ex-husband). Because the writer’s block is a psychological symptom, in this novel, the disorder can be overcome with therapy in the form of relaxation and establishing relationships with new people. As a romance-themed novel, the metropolitan novel The Architecture of Love is built by narrative elements that support the writer’s block theme.

Difficulties of producing speech sound in stutterers are indicated by the repetition, pause, prolongation, revision, and filled pause on the speaking. However, such difficulties do not hinder the communication as shown in the speech of a stand-up comedian named Drew Lynch. This study aims at exploring the types of fluency disorder identified in Lynch’s utterances on stage. This study uses the descriptive qualitative method employed through the process of observing, transcribing, describing, and analyzing his utterances in American Got Talent videos. The result shows Lynch produces all kinds of disfluency covering filled pause, phrase repetition, revision, multisyllabic whole-word repetition, monosyllabic whole-word repetition, repetition of individual sound or syllable, prolongation of sound, and block. The monosyllabic whole-word repetition is more dominant. The combination happens between revision with monosyllabic whole-word repetition, prolongation, or multisyllabic whole-word repetition. These findings confirm that in the context of stand-up comedy, the disfluencies in stuttering do not hamper the transfer of meaning.

The result shows Lynch produces all kinds of disfluency covering filled pause, phrase repetition, revision, multisyllabic whole-word repetition, monosyllabic whole-word repetition, repetition of individual sound or syllable, prolongation of sound, and block. The monosyllabic whole-word repetition is more dominant. The combination happens between revision with monosyllabic whole-word repetition, prolongation, or multisyllabic whole-word repetition. These findings confirm that in the context of stand-up comedy, the disfluencies in stuttering do not hamper the transfer of meaning.","PeriodicalId":398772,"journal":{"name":"LEKSEMA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130339759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
