In this paper, we focus on an aggregative optimization problem under communication bottleneck. The aggregative optimization is to minimize the sum of local cost functions. Each cost function depends on not only local state variables but also the sum of functions of global state variables. The goal is to solve the aggregative optimization problem through distributed computation and local efficient communication over a network of agents without a central coordinator. Using the variable tracking method to seek the global state variables and the quantization scheme to reduce the communication cost spent in the optimization process, we develop a novel distributed quantized algorithm, called D-QAGT, to track the optimal variables with finite bits communication. Although quantization may lose transmitting information, our algorithm can still achive the exact optimal solution with linear convergence rate. Simulation experiments on an optimal placement problem is carried out to verify the correctness of the theoretical results.

In this paper, we investigate the problem of stability of linear time–varying singular systems, which are transferable into a standard canonical form. Sufficient conditions on exponential stability and practical exponential stability of solutions of linear perturbed singular systems are obtained based on generalized Gronwall inequalities and Lyapunov techniques. Moreover, we study the problem of stability and stabilization for some classes of singular systems. Finally, we present a numerical example to validate the effectiveness of the abstract results of this paper.

This article deals with the objective Bayesian analysis of random censorship model with informative censoring using Weibull distribution. The objective Bayesian analysis has a long history from Bayes and Laplace through Jeffreys and is reaching the level of sophistication gradually. The reference prior method of Bernardo is a nice attempt in this direction. The reference prior method is based on the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the prior and the corresponding posterior distribution and easy to implement when the information matrix exists in closed-form. We apply this method to Weibull random censorship model and compare it with Jeffreys and maximum likelihood methods. It is observed that the closed-form expressions for the Bayes estimators are not possible; we use importance sampling technique to obtain the approximate Bayes estimates. The behaviour of maximum likelihood and Bayes estimators is observed via extensive numerical simulation. The proposed methodology is used for the analysis of a real-life data for illustration and appropriateness of the model is tested by Henze goodness-of-fit test.

We develop a general axiomatic theory of algebraic pairs, which simultaneously generalizes several algebraic structures, in order to bypass negation as much as feasible. We investigate several classical theorems and notions in this setting including fractions, integral extensions, and Hilbert's Nullstellensatz. Finally, we study a notion of growth in this context.

By max-plus algebra we mean the set of reals R equipped with the operations a ⊕ b = max { a, b } and a ⊗ b = a + b for a, b ∈ R . A vector x is said to be a generalized eigenvector of max-plus matrices A, B ∈ R ( m, n ) if A ⊗ x = λ ⊗ B ⊗ x for some λ ∈ R . The investigation of properties of generalized eigenvectors is important for the applications. The values of vector or matrix inputs in practice are usually not exact numbers and they can be rather considered as values in some intervals. In this paper the properties of matrices and vectors with inexact (interval) entries are studied and complete solutions of the controllable, the tolerable and the strong generalized eigenproblem in max-plus algebra are presented. As a consequence of the obtained results, efficient algorithms for checking equivalent conditions are introduced.
我们所说的max-plus代数是指对a, b∈R具有运算a⊕b = max {a, b}和a⊗b = a + b的实数R的集合。
